Fateful Marriage

Freedom.

" So what are you going to do?" Sarah asked.

We were let out after a week of torture and they made an ultimatum to me and Matthew. I don't even know how to feel or think at this moment. I am still speechless till this day that my gramps got me married to my bully. I became a teen bride. I am in my new apartment on university grounds where I'll be in a PhD program.

" I honestly don't know. I am still underage at this moment so there's little to nothing i can do. The marriage can still be anulled on grounds that i was under 18 and no consumation of the wedding." i said.

" I really don't know what is going on" Sarah said.

She's also apparently married but we don't know the name of groom except that he is already being drafted here in country B at the top university. James who just wanted to play was also kicked out here by his grandfather and will be in the same program as me. Sarah is about to finish her first year.

" Maybe the old men are just bought and decided to play God on their children" I said and they all laughed.

" What about you James?" Sarah asked.

" I was taken to a top fertility clinic by my grandfather under an alias so i can give them my juice. I am guessing that he wants to keep this from my parents. That fact alone is weird. My parents know about my sexuality and have accepted it just like all my other relatives. I have my sister to carry on the bloodline. I think my old man has a different plan though" he said.

" Enough about that, there's a party tonight and we are all going" Page said. She didn't want to be left behind so she followed us here along with her boyfriend.

" I can't believe you just suggested that" I said.

" We don't want to skinned alive by your toy boy." James said and we all laughed.

" Why would you guys say that!!" Page said with her hands on her pink cheeks.

" You followed him here, we know you used us as an excuse. Page, he asked you to marry him four times and you turned him down, what changed?" James asked and we all looked at her including Sarah who has become part of the group recently.

" I may or may not be pregnant. He's the culprit." page said catching us off guard.

" Explain yourself!!" i said.

" He's been acting weird recently after our fight back in the country. I wanted to break up but he made sure to make me regret that. She blushed as she said. The following day was supposed to be the day my aunt came but it didn't. I said said to him subconsciously and a glass fell from his hand. I didn't think much about it until last night. I wanted to initiate it but he was nervous about it and brushed it off. I heard Lira talking about how much her stomach hurts during that time and that is when it clicked. Its almost two weeks now and my aunt hasn't come. The treats, the spa visits, no alcohol in his house, fusing about me sleeping face down, the nutritional diet and my emotional outbursts. I was feeling nauseous a few days ago and wanted to go to a doctor to check it out and he panicked. He forced to get the certificate yesterday and promised that we can hold a wedding ceremony whenever i wanted, he even made the excuse that he can't remain nameless." she said and it was drop dead silence.

" You guys got married?" James asked.

" I guess so, that's why we bought a house here. Both of our parents know and approved as long as we hold a ceremony later on. I don't know what excuse he gave them." page explained as if it wasn't a big deal.

" Did you take a test?" i asked.

" No, i am too scared and the answer is very obvious. I have a regular circle." she said.

" I think i have a few tests somewhere" I said getting up and looking through a box labeled work. I took out four different tests and handed them to page.

" Why do you have pregnancy tests?" Sarah asked and they all looked at me.

I looked at them before replying:" I own a chemist and a lab where they send me products to test. Did you guys forget my majors?" i asked. I wasn't going to tell them that i bought them a few months ago panicked when my period didn't come after spending a night with a random man after being set up by Payton.

" Oh, I will take them" she said as she got up with the help of James.

" So what's the verdict?" i asked James and Page went inside.

" A happy pulse. That boy sure planned it well, it's more than a month. She fell right into his trap" James said with a laugh.

" Well, I guess as much" I said.

" Why is everyone getting married? now pregnancy?" Sarah asked.

" Don't worry, we'll help you find your husband and divorce him secretly." i assured her.

" I know, what's the plan with my brother?" She asked me and James smirked at me.

" I don't know but i can't stay with him. Marriage and a relationship is also not on my timeline." i said with a smile.

" I heard he broke up with his long term girlfriend Jess or something yesterday. He'll be coming here in a week to start grad school. The elders are going to force you to stay together." she said.

" I heard the rules of your family are very strict" James said.

" Yes, we can only marry once and aren't allowed to have relationship outside of your marriage or you'll be expelled. My uncle was expelled ten years ago after he got divorced and remarried. I heard that he is now a monk and can't have children. His ex wife got remarried and hasn't given birth till now for some reason. I heard there's a curse. For example, I can only have s****l relationship with my husband or I'll become infertile along with my husband. He'll have trouble down there." Sarah said and my heart skipped a beat.

" I'm going to kill him" page yelled five minutes later.

" Why do you want to go to a party if you suspected?" Sarah asked after we calmed down Page.

" To catch him in the act. I hate being deceived the most and i don't like this feeling of being trapped. Yes, i love him but that doesn't mean he has to make decisions for me like this." page said with a sob.

" You can stay here as long as you can." i said seeing the situation.

" There is more to this. He's been urging me to get married and i have this guy feeling that something is wrong but i can't put my finger on it" Page said.

" Have you met the rest of his family?" i asked.

" I only met his parents. It's weird now that i think about it. I feel like i have seen his step father somewhere and how they accepted me was puzzling. I knew his mother is very arrogant and a classic loud woman but she was different when i met her. I saw the disgust and hatred in her eyes when she looked at me but she acted nice. I found her hypocritical. I am naive but i can read emotions. I didn't think much of it but now that i think about it, i feel like i am being played. I can feel that Leonard genuinely loves me but his recent behavior feels more like compensation. We started dating because we had the same ideals and he expressed that marriage was not in his near future. " page said.

" We can investigate. I'll set up an appointment with a friend of mine, she's a gynecologist. A very good one for a check up and then we can discuss a way forward from there." James said with a smile.

" Wow adulthood is very messed up. I regret saying that i wanted to grow up" Sarah said making all of us laugh.

I got the firth bedroom ready for page with their help while page relaxed.

" Why didn't we clean the second bedroom?" James couldn't help but ask.

This house has five bedrooms, the main is mine and Sarah who'll be staying with me next semester chose the third bedroom with the view of the courtyard downstairs. James temporarily moved into the forth one leaving the second and firth one.

" Oh that's my brother's room. The house next door is mine and the only way we could have freedom was to sign an agreement that we'd be staying with our ' ' husbands'. My husband is somewhere across the country and i still don't know his name." Sarah said and the other two paused giving me a weird look.

" I'll be busy with classes and projects so i won't spend much time in here. He has his own room, we'll just become roommates until we manage to get rid of this situation or outlive those old foggies" I said and they laughed.
