Fateful Marriage

hypocritical Matthew.

Matthew never felt so lost in his entire life. He ran back home the day after they were let free only to meet with an unexpected discovery. In fear of how heartbroken Jessica would be if she saw the headlines, he rushed towards her dorm room. He was about to knock when he heard his sworn brother inside. He didn't know what came over him but he just stood there and listened.

" Come on, let's go for another round. Your little boyfriend is probably fighting his family for your sake " Tim said.

" Don't call him that. I told you to be careful, what if someone saw you when you came here?" Jessica asked.

" They are all at the cheerleading tryouts and i was discreet. We haven't had a day without that i***t coming in between us. If it wasn't because of your godfather, i would have put a bullet in his skull a long time ago." Tim said.

" Be patient, he trusts me. He already thinks that i am a little virgin Mary. You took my innocence ages ago, how are we going to deal with it?" Jessica asked in a panicked voice.

" We'll just drug him like we did last time. I don't know how he resolved that person 's drug without needing intamacy. He told me the next day that he was at a private clinic meaning that someone saved him and sent him to a health care facility. He's rich and his family may have a specialist who was able to help him while i helped you " Tim said.

" Tell me about this Lira girl he's forced to marry." Jessica asked.

" Don't worry about her, she hates his guts. He was led by the nose by that brat Payton to bully her. I bet she's thinking of ways to torture him right now. We'll just get Payton to increase the drama. Let's not talk about them. It's our time now babe " Tim said followed by Jessica laugh.

Matthew was struck. He pressed the pause button on the recording function and left Amidst of the crazy noises and shuffling inside.He went towards his dorm room where his best friend Jonathan was inside trying on the graduation gown they'll be wearing tomorrow. He didn't even greet him and just went to his bed.

" Hey man, what's wrong?" Jonathan asked seeing Matthew 's behavior.

" Tim, he's the guy you told me about a month ago" Matthew said after thinking about what he just heard.

" What did I tell you?" Jonathan asked.

" The guy you took a picture of hugging Jessica. It's him, they were playing with me all this time " Matthew said and proceeded to tell Jonathan what he heard.

" F^•k!! No wonder they've been behaving weird this past week. You don't know but the news of your marriage caused a stir on campus. Jessica has been a mess since the day you made headlines and Tim was her shoulder to cry on. He kept defending you when people called you a cheater. The words he said sounded weird and it made people angrier. I had a fight with him at the court because of what he said. I told our friends not to listen to him and her, and to wait for your explanation." Jonathan said and told Matthew about what was going on.

" I'll send a recording to you. There's a camera in the common dorm room after that false stalker alarm. Use your computer skills to hack into it and release the recordings of what happened a few minutes ago. Make sure to erase any type of connection to me or Lira. Erase my movement from when i got back. I came in from the back gate to avoid crowds and that place was deserted. I don't want any backlash on me or you" Matthew said to Jonathan who was shocked.

" Okay. They'll be up before they finish what they are doing. It seems that they are still at it. Why don't we make it live while we are at it. I will make it look like it was from the ' stalker' everyone thinks exist. I know you still have feelings for Jess so why are we exposing her?" Jonathan couldn't help but ask in the end.

" They are the ones responsible for what happened a year ago. For the first time in my life, i took a young girl's innocence under the drug influence. They were working with you know who and if it wasn't because of their lack of communication, the one who wouldn't have been tortured by would be Lira. I took her innocence and because it was also my first time plus the drug on top of my existing for her, let's just say the poor girl couldn't walk the next day. I couldn't sleep the whole year feeling guilty for betraying Jess and thought of ways to make it up to Lira. I wanted to build an empire away from my family's influence to give Jess the life she deserved and to help Lira by investing in her research programs so she can have a smooth journey as a scientist for what i did to her. I remember telling my father to groom Sarah and not me because i would marry whoever i wanted. Don't you find it funny? I came here in hopes of telling Jessica that we should announce our relationship and I would leave my family so we can start our own. I know it was hypocritical of me knowing that i loved my new wife and there's the fact that i can't face her after what i did to her. Let's go with the second part of the plan.... I'll go over after a few minutes and profess my love to her and the fact that i have left my family for her. Make sure everyone is watching even after i get there." Matthew said as he reached out to take the roses on Jonathan's desk.

" Okay, I am here for you man. You can trust me. More than half of the school has already seen it, you should go over now." Jonathan said.

Matthew arrived in front of Jessica's dorm while ignoring the crowd who were waiting for the two to get out. He arrived before the roommates did. He had sprayed water to make it seem like he had run over there. He knocked on the door in an exhausted voice.

" Jess babe. I came back as soon as i can. Don't believe in what you read on the media. My family wanted to force me to marry a childhood friend. We didn't know about it until we got to the venue that we were engaged. She and I aren't together. I left my family sweet heart. I finally did it so we can be together!! We can get married right away , don't be angry okay? That girl also hates me so you don't have to worry." Matthew yelled catching everyone off guard including the people trapped outside.

They were so immersed that they didn't notice calls from their friends and countless of massages to stop. They only grew apart after hearing Matthew's voice. Everyone could still see the live video including the dean who was on his way there. The girls outside were gloating while the man sympathies with Matthew with a hint of ridicule.

* f**k!!! I thought you said that the i***t is still locked up by his family?" Jessica yelled not knowing that everyone was watching her. She was still naked at this point.

" He must have escaped. But this is also good. Pretend a little more and make sure he marries you so we can get his assets" Tim said as he wore his clothes looking for an escape.

Jonathan played the best friend part and ran towards Matthew in front of everyone and handed him his phone. Matthew fell down before getting up to break the door where everyone saw the naked Jessica and Tim who was only in a spider man underwear. Those close could smell the sweaty fish smell and everyone already saw what had happened via live.

They were there to gloat and to confirm if everything was real. Jessica is the school bell with all the guys pinning over her making the girls jealous hence making more enemies with her pretentious behavior. Tim and Jessica were shocked , they were even more shocked when they saw the crowd outside. Matthew threw the decoy phone down on the bed.

" We are done. Wish you two happiness" Matthew said in a broken voice making everyone want to cry when the others heard it.

" Babe i can explain." Jess ran after him wrapped in a sheet but Matthew increased his pace and those who passed by him swore that they saw tears in his eyes.

The decoy phone beeped along with everyone watching the drama except this time Tim and Jessica got it too. The edited recording. That is what everyone received but it was the edited version leaving out Lira and the drug incident. Jonathan reacted quickly and grabbed the phone on the bed and yelled : Matt , you left your phone. It is a recording. Jessica fainted when she heard that.

The two couldn't stop Jonathan who was playing the recording while running full speed towards his best friend. The two received a twenty million ransom with the threat of calling Matthew about what was on his or her hands.
