Third person POV

It has been rough over the last 2 months with everyone training. They were all doing great with their training in human and wolf forms, even the newly training pack members.

Adira has also met Blanes sister Zoe, and they get along like they were sisters always siding with each other over Blane.

Even though the pack knows at some point there could be an attack from an unknown force, they are enjoying each day as it comes.

Adira has also been training her magic. Learning to wield it and control it. She did have difficulties at the start, and the magic was a little out of control, but now she has mastered controlling her powers and also not getting as drained while doing so.

Blane has been pushing her to gain fighting skills, and now she has gotten to be a great warrior, Hope is formidable in her form, too.

Trixie and Liddy have trained too, pushing their bodies to the limit, determined to protect their sister and also the pack.

Blane and Zane have been running attack drills to make sure everyone knows what to do if an attack occurs, and so everyone doesn't panic if it does happen.

Dr. hayley was put in charge, with the help of a couple of selected teens, to round up all those who could not fight and get them to the safe room.

The original safe room was improved, the door can only be opened by the people inside once the door has been locked from the inside, it is fire proof and there has been a ward put on it by Adira so magic can't get through.

There are bunks in rows for people to sleep, cots for the young babies and a long table and chairs, plenty of food and bottled water and also a box of toys in the corner to keep the kids occupied just in case they are in there for longer periods of time.

Blane has been busy keeping the pack running smoothly and also keeping up with the other Alphas, there is just one pack he can't seem to get through to, there has been no correspondence back from them.

The blood moon pack is an old pack originally the royal blood pack, They were almost all wiped out apart from a select few that survived, they are known to be ruthless warriors that was tucked away in the dark forest, apparently training for the day their real Alpha comes to claim them.

He has decided to go there and ask for their assistance if a war was to come.

It's late, so Blane has mind linked the night patrol for a check-in, and after everything is given the all clear, he decides to call it a day and head to bed to his mate.

Adira POV

It's been a hard 2 months of constant training, helping out at the clinic and orphanage, and there hasn't been much one on one time spent with Blane.

We get some time together, but I just wish it was more, but I know that what we are doing is a must, and I can't wait for it to be over.

I've been spending time with Jaxson, Lucy and Ben and they are great kids I plan on mentioning them at the pack meeting tomorrow, for whatever reason Blane has called for this meeting, it is apparently important and everyone must attend, I hope everything is ok but I'm going to ask him when he comes to bed.

I've showered, and now I'm laid in bed reading my book, waiting for Blane.

I would read non-stop if I could.

I feel the bed dip and sparks around my waist, I must have fallen asleep.

"Why have you called for a meeting? Is there something wrong or something I can help you with? " I ask, hoping there is something I can do to lesson his workload.

"I think I'm going to have to leave for maybe a week, I need to go to a pack that is hidden in the dark forest, we could use their help, my love" he says making me sit up looking at him with worry, making him sit up next to me.

"I will accompany you, we will have a better shot at finding them with Hope" I offer but I'm shot down and rejected "I'm sorry my little mate but its not safe for you there, it will be safer here with our pack we don-" "No way am I sitting here while your out there, somewhere that could be dangerous" I say getting angry "Please my love, I can't risk your safety" he tries to console me but both mine and Hopes anger is mingling into one. 'Is he serious? Does he still see us as damsels in distress that can't care for ourselves?' Hope asks in disbelief and anger. "If you go, I go, and that's final. Anyway, it will be quicker as I can cast a portal for us, and then we can get back to our pack." I say determined, looking at him with hope and worry.

"ok, ok, please don't worry. We can go together, but we need to take a couple of our best warriors just in case, " he says, making me release my breath I hadn't realised I was holding.

"I would thank you, but just so you know, Hope is upset with you," I say, smiling. "What, why? Can I please speak to her?" he asked, making me smile and nod yes.

It's still weird going to the back of my mind while Hope controls my body, it's like I'm watching everything through my eyes but I'm not in control of anything, I can still talk to Hope.

"Hope, I'm sorry," Blane says. "You both need to know WE are strong and can take care of ourselves." Hope replies while pouting and looking away from him. "It was me.. Jack disagreed with me, even earlier when I came up with the plan to go and leave you here" Blane says moving our face to him "Please don't be upset, I can't help the feeling of wanting to protect you and I know before you say it.. you can take care of yourself but that doesn't change the fact that I'm scared of losing you" He says looking down at his hands 'I really do think he's just trying to protect us Hope, please don't be too mad, he looks so sad' I try and sway Hope but I can feel her anger die down 'I think that also Adi' Hope replied wavering at forgiving their silliness.

"Please don't be too sad, my Alpha, we realise you had planned it trying to keep us safe, but you also need to understand that we are stronger together side by side, ok?" I walk to the bathroom with more questions than when I started this journey.

As I reach the dining room ready for lunch everyone stops what they are doing and gets down on one knee, hand on heart chanting 'LUNA' "Please you don't have to do that get up, you are my family you will never get on your knees in front of me" I say loud and clear they all stop, stand up and start clapping and cheering making me laugh.

After lunch I went to find my girls as they weren't at lunch.

As I was heading to the cottage, they were in the front garden sat chatting when they saw me, they rushed to me, pulling me into a group hug.

"Oh my sweet Adira, we felt when you marked. there was a power surge, everyone in the pack felt it and we have been going around the pack to se-" Trixie was cut off "ok Trixie take a breath and let Adira sit with us before tell her what we found" Liddy said making us all laugh and Trixie pout "fine" she said grumpily making us laugh more.

"So what did you do today and what did you find" I ask looking at all three of them waiting "Well we visited the pack members to see if they felt anything and guess what" Trixie said excitedly "what" I ask smiling feeling a little of the excitement from Trixie "Well everyone had felt it and everyone in our pack seems to be stronger and faster.. dont ask how we have NO clue" She finishes off looking happy to have finally told me, my mouth and eyes are wide, what does she mean faster and stronger, "how about you three, you are not wolves so did you not feel it" I ask in shock "well actually...WE GOT A NEW POWER" screamed Liddy clapping her hands jumping up and down on her ass, what does that mean "what?.. what do you mean a new power?, I don't understand." I ask, looking around at my three VERY happy ladies.

"we're not sure either, but we were doing magic training this morning when all of a sudden Liddy hands were on fire," Maxine said, smiling. smiling? what the hell is wrong with them, seriously.

I grabbed Liddy's hands, looking to make sure she was ok and unhurt, but there was nothing there.

"calm down pumpkin, I'm fine, see" she says lifting her hands up twisting them showing there was nothing there, I let out a breath, "Ok but why would you say you had a new power" I ask completely baffled "Well seeing how Liddy was seeming to control the fire on her hands, I thought I would try to do the fire thing but I caused a small whirlwind, and when Trixie tried she made roots come out the ground wrapping around us.." Maxine explained, making them giggle and my eyes to pop out nearly. "Oh my goddess, that's crazy but a good crazy.. I think!" I say in shock. "We just need to practice and learn to control it better," Liddy says, and I couldn't agree more.

'We need you at the pack house love now, please.' Blane, mind links Adira sounding panicked. "I have to go to the pack house, something is wrong.. I'll meet you there," I say, looking around at them before I teleport to Blane.

He was there with Zoe in a panic, crying and freaking out.

"Take a deep breath and tell me what happened," I say to Zoe, making her take a deep breath "I..I don.. don't know what was happening. I was in the shower after training, and then a water started swirling all around me but not touching me... please.. does that mean someone was there, someo..someone magical..?" she asks as she starts crying again.

I wrap her in a hug taking her to the seat and click my fingers for a drink giving her it, today has been strange "please don't cry my sweet, I think I might know what is happening, we just need to wait for the others to get here ok?" she takes a drink and calms down a little, still teary.

'do you know if Zane or Wes have had any strange reports today my love' I ask Blane in my mind 'I have not seen them yet, I'll ask them to come to the office now' he replies looking worriedly at his sister.

There was a knock at the door "come in" Blane says as Liddy, Trixie and Maxine walk in and when they see Zoe upset they rush over to see if she is ok, we have all become the best of friends since we met her, she is funny, caring and has a pure heart.

"What I think that's happening is Zoe has gained a power like the three of you, which is strange on its own, but Zoe doesn't have magic, so that is even stranger." I say, looking at the shocked faces of everybody in the room.

"I'm not sure, but it sounds like the four elements Liddy fire, Trixie Earth, Maxine Air, and Zoe Water." I explain, hoping that I've got it right. "Hang on a minute when did this all happen?" Blane asks as confused as all of us. "When we marked last night, it gave a power surge through the pack.. well that's the only thing that makes sense" I try to explain but it's difficult as I'm not even sure myself "yes the pack members we have spoken to had said they felt it last night too and now they seem to be stronger and faster" Liddy says making Blane choke on the water he was drinking, just then there was another knock on the door, I walk over and open the door and let Zane and Wes walk in. Zane goes straight to Trixie and wraps her in a hug, kissing her head inhaling her scent after a couple of minutes "So I don't want to freak anyone out but what the f**k is happening?" Wes asked when no one said anything he carried on "at training today can anyone tell me how we were all stronger and faster, I dont understand" he asked a little freaked.

"It would appear when we marked each other more of my powers were unlocked and I somehow gifted some to you all" I try to explain even though I'm still as confused as the rest of them " that actually makes sense, as we four have now got elemental powers" Liddy says pointing at the four of them, making Zane and Wes stare with wide eyes and speechless.

"we don't have long until the meeting. we need to figure out what to tell the pack." Zane says "Well I think it would be best to be honest but maybe keep your four new powers quiet until we know what is happening, if that's ok with you also Adira" Blane says looking at me for my opinion I smile and nod yes at him "thats sounds best for now, lets get going.. do you need a little more time, Zoe? " I ask when she shakes her head no, so we all head to the training field for the meeting.

Everyone is stood waiting for us when we reach the little stage set up.

"Thank you all for coming there's a couple of issues that needs to be discussed and then after if there is anything you would like to ask you can ok" Blane states "yes Alpha" they all replied.

"Actually, I was wondering if it was possible to ask something first while the whole pack is here with us?" I ask looking at Blane, he smiles and moves from the mic giving me the floor, "thank you, well there is something I would like to discuss with you all first but dont feel like anyone has to say yes I'm just putting it out here just incase ok?" I ask looking around at the crowd smiling "Yes Luna" they all say making me smile more, I hope this works "ok the thing I would like to discuss is the orphanage, there are three siblings there since they lost their parents, Jaxson is 3 years old, Lucy is 2years old and ben is 8months old, now I know its a big ask but would there be any of our pack that could take them in give them love and encouragement and bring them up as if they were your own. It breaks my heart to know how much they have suffered at such a young age," I say, looking around at they sad faces of our pack at what has happened. "no one has to decide now as it's a massive responsibility to take on but if anyone can help please come to me and we can talk about it, thank you for listening" as I step away from the mic everyone cheers making me smile.

'I love you,' Blane says in my mind, smiling at me 'I love you too, I hope it works out though,' I say back.

"Ok so I need to let you all know we will be leaving for a few days on important pack business so I expect everyone to keep training and looking after one another" Blane states " Yes Alpha" they all reply as one "now down to the last thing... We marked each other last night." Cheers and howling was all around us, making us smile.

As you all know, Luna Adira is a hybrid. After we claimed each other last night, it seems some more of her powers were unlocked and were passed to our pack, giving us extra speed and strength. Now I know it's a shock as non of us knew it was a possibility, if we did we could have explained it to everyone but if we all work together we can stand strong as one" Blane explains everyone claps, cheers and howls.

After everyone calmed down, no one had any questions, so they were free to leave and get on with their day.

"Luna, Alpha," a couple approaches us with their heads bowed. They looked like they were in their 30s.

"Hello, is everything ok?" I ask the nervous couple.

"We was wondering if it was ok to talk to you about the children" the woman asked, making me smile from ear to ear.

"Yes, of course, I'm so happy you came forward." I say, "we are interested in adopting the children but I'm a just a cook for the pack and my mate here is a groundsman helping build the pack houses mainly and he also does maintenance for the houses too. would that affect us being candidates for adoption? " she asks with tears in her eyes.

"First of all we are a family no status is lower or higher in terms of respect, you are no different than anyone else and secondly would you like to come to the pack house for a drink and chat" I ask with a smile putting them at ease.

We are sitting in the office with the couple having drinks and biscuits.

"My name is sheila, and my mate is derek," she smiles as she introduces them both. "You already know ours, but its nice to meet you properly," I say to them both.

"Would it be ok if I ask you why you're thinking of adoption?" I ask. " Of course Luna, we met when I was 19 years old and derek was 20 years old. we wanted a family immediately, but it never happened. There's no hope left for us to have our own pups but we have so much love to give, we have a house big enough and as much as its a massive change we are ready, we have been ready for years" sheila replies with tears in her eyes, I hug her from her seat crying with her and I know she is genuine I can feel it.

"how about I set up a meeting with the children tomorrow, I won't be here but the women that looks after them will help, we can give you both a few days visits with them and see how you feel after than if that all goes ok, when I'm back I will do a house check and get the ball rolling if that suits you both" I say with a warm smile they both agree and leave wishing us the best on our travels.

"It's been such a weird but happy day" I say walking round the desk to Blane, sitting on his knee " it has my love, come on we really should go pack for our trip" I groan and don't want to leave so I click my fingers making two backpacks with essentials and spare clothing in for our trip "wait I've forgotten something" I say clicking my fingers and another bag appeared with sandwiches treats and bottled water in.

Giving us an extra 10 minutes to enjoy each others company, or so we thought, there was a knock at the door, Zane popped his head in to tell us it was time to go.
