CHAPTER 9 Megan couldn’t remember the last time she’d had her brother entirely to herself. Even when he flew out to comfort her during that first miserable Christmas in Costa Rica, there were dozens of kids running around and coworkers who needed her attention. Now it was just the two of them. Susannah and Kitty had gone to bed early, so Megan and Scott had the living room to themselves. “You must be exhausted. I’ve kept you up way too late.” Scott stretched his arms above his head. Even now that they were both adults, it was strange thinking of her brother getting tired.
