CHAPTER 8 “Brad, honey, will you please take this in to your father in the den? Tell him I found the June issue he’s been looking for.” Brad stared at the fishing magazine and rolled his eyes. “What?” Mom donned an innocent expression. “I’d take it myself, but I still have dishes to clean up.” “I told you I’d do them,” he reminded her. She shrugged. “If you want to help, be a good boy and take this in to your father, please.” Brad knew exactly what Mom was trying to do, and he didn’t like it. How many times had he told her that he was coming for Grandma Lucy and nothing else?
