Albi's Point of View True to my word, I let Galen run all through Saturday night and into the early hours of Sunday morning. Just as the sun started to rise, we went back to where I had left my clothes and shrank back into our human self. I dressed quickly in gray sweats and an over-sized black hoodie. I pulled the hood up over my head and pulled at the neck strings to better conceal my identity. 'Thank you, Albi' Galen told me in a grateful voice. He sounded more relaxed than he had in days. He was also exhausted, although nowhere near where I was on that scale. He'd hunted throughout the night to keep his energy levels up. Whereas I was starving and absolutely spent. 'No worries buddy.' I wheezed back in response. 'You can run forever, when we take back what is ours' Galen growled in agreement. He hoped for a bloody battle, something he could really sink his teeth into. Whenever I thought about my future, I always thought about my parents. I only had one picture of my Mom and Dad, Sarah and Steven, that was taken on the day of my Mom's Luna coronation. They were married in the morning and my Mom was sworn in as Luna on that very evening. It was also believed to be the day I was conceived, but I tried not to dwell on that too much. The photograph shows them standing next to each other on a makeshift stage in front of the Alpha King, Lucas Campbell. Bethany recalls the King asking them to make their vows, but they were so busy looking at each other they completely ignored him and he had to ask for a second time. You can see that they are deliriously happy and incredibly in love. My Mom's eyes are brimming with joyful unshed tears and my Dad has the look of a wolf that can not believe his luck. The expression on his face was exultant! From this picture I can see that I get my blonde hair from my Dad and my green eyes from my Mom. According to Bethany, I get my laid back attitude from my father and have my mother's temper. And that's all I know about them. On the day my father died, my Mom was in labor with me. It seems that the medical staff were aware that he had died but had to tell my Mom that he was alive and successfully fighting off a small rogue attack. My Mom was human and the birth was going to be difficult beyond belief. They were trying to keep her alive to stop her from giving up before she had me. The truth was my Dad and his warriors were ambushed by a pack of rogues who had three times as many fighters as the pack did. This leads us to believe that someone on the inside of the pack was working with the rogues and that they gave my Mother something that made her go into early labor which would put both her and myself in mortal danger. With my Dad's thoughts elsewhere and my Mom not being by his side to fight, he was taken down easily. Everything about the attack and the take over went against werewolf law. Just under two hundred rogues infiltrated the Citrine pack. This was thought to be the biggest collaboration of rogues in Warewolf history. Traditionally, rogues will band together in groups of three or four, any more than this, and the wolves start to fight for Alpha dominance within the cluster. Rogues were almost always male and usually lost their way when their mates died. It drove them psychotic and the only way to stop them going completely insane was for them to give in to 'blood lust', i.e. brutally kill anything that moved. The entire Citrine pack was slaughtered shortly afterwards. Not one single wolf, except maybe the one that was helping the outsiders, was given a chance to join the new Alpha. The males all had their throats ripped out, the females were tortured and abused before being murdered. The children had their necks broken. When word of my mother's death reached the ears of the new Alpha, the bodies were set alight and the new owners of my would-be territory danced around the pyre and celebrated all through the night. Everytime I thought about it, it made me physically sick. I'm not sure if they know whether I'm alive or not, and I really don't care either way. The Winter Witch 'disappeared' us soon after I was born. She adopted the appearance of a young woman, complete with a post-pregnancy figure and a birth certificate. Albi Paul Channing was born in a human hospital in a different state two weeks before my actual birth date. There was no way of knowing how many wolves were left in the pack. None of the high-ranking wolves had ever been seen outside of the territory since the attack. There were rumors that children had been born into the pack, which was worrying. If there were no females, then how the hell were babies being born? Bethany hoped they had used some form of fertility black magic, but I suspected that the truth was much darker than that. As I limped back towards where I lived, I let my face break into a cruel smile. Soon I wouldn't need to guess at what was going on, I would be right there in the thick of it and the twins would be right there with me, and everyone of those rogues would pay the price for murdering my family.
