At home, I thought a lot about the exchange, and although I was sure that at some point I might regret it, I knew this was the right way to go. I didn't need a house. The houses were generally for mated couples or those with a high status in the pack. I did not meet any of the requirements. Plus, the only thing I was going to miss was the peace and quiet here.

I went to take a shower before my morning run. I was feeling a little worried, considering that my mating period was approaching and I didn't have a partner yet. As a werewolf I had that three times in a year and while I was among the people I always made sure I had a partner. It was easier there because humans were simple in their acts and feelings. My partner would just joke that I was overly horny and laugh it off.

But here, in the pack, was going be tough. Werewolves could be highly possessive. And although males didn't have that heat period, they'd react to a female in heat. I had to find someone quickly, so as not to be in a position to accept the first one to sense my condition. Because overly horny was an understatement.

After my morning run, I went to the field for the training with Tessa. We would train in wolf form again, due to yesterday's fiasco. We got together and headed to the lawn. It was so beautiful there, the lawn was long and flat, so suitable for those fights. The sun was shining and the weather was great - neither hot nor cold.

Perfect day to kick some ass.

My mood was good and this time I let Emery brag as much as she wanted. We were in our human form again, because Tessa wanted to tell us something.

"As you can see, Tanya is not here. She will have to go through a period of heal before she can rejoin us. For now, I will fight instead of her until we find someone to replace her in your group. This means I'm going to fight with you, Violet. Hope you're ready."

She looked at me challenging and impudently, as if she thought I would be afraid. And, honestly, I was a little nervous. She was one of the best female fighters around here.

"And remember, fight like a real enemy is against you. We're not playing around." As she finished talking, she turned in her wolf form and attacked us like lightning. I tried to turn as quickly as I could but I didn't had time to even take a breath before she knocked us down. Her wolf was determined and purposeful, striking after strike with strong paws and sharp claws. In just a few minutes we already had numerous bleeding cuts all over our body.

I felt our head heavy and leaned to the ground for a moment and Tessa's wolf used the opportunity to jump on our rear, trying to keep us on the ground. But Emery had had enough. She shook her body angrily and when Tessa's wolf fell, Emery turned around and fiercely started to bite and hit the enemy. Tessa's wolf was growling menacingly but keep backing up. Emery bite her on the soft skin of her snout, and Tessa's wolf roared in pain but Emery was uncontrollable. The sound of flesh being torn filled my ears but I was so absorbed in the battle that it didn't matter. Tessa's wolf hit our stomachs hard and I felt a burning pain. Emery whimpered but kept attacking, fur was flying around us.

Suddenly Riven appeared next to us and he hit Tessa's wolf hard. Emery kept growing but Riven stood in front and bared his canines menacingly. After a brief battle of wills, Emery stepped back and limped nervously back and forth. We looked around and the pool of blood around us made us froze in place.

Loren's wolf came along with someone else and she, Gideon and the stranger turned in their human forms.

"Heal them, quickly. Before I lose it and finish them."

Emery growled and Gideon looked at us so angrily that it was enough for her to calm down.

The Healer took care of Tessa first, because she seemed to be in a worse condition. I felt proud, although it wasn't very nice of me. But my Emery showed me once more how strong we were and we could be with more practice. I knew we should not be underestimated. But I wasn't sure how well I could control my body and mind properly to be as effective as possible in a battle. In minutes Tessa was ready, turned in her human form and stood up, running toward us.

Gideon grabbed her hand in an iron grip and forced her to stand still.

"Let me go, Alpha. That piece of s**t cut my wolf's ear. I'll kill her, and you'll get rid of her." With his Alpha tone, Gideon started.

"What did you do, Tessa?" He released her hand and she stood straight, bowing her head. "We were just training. I..."

"Why the Hell one of my trainers and one of my guests are in that condition during a train, Tessa?"

Pears came out of nowhere and tried to explain.

"Alpha, we're just doing our jobs. I'm not sure what had happened to Ivi, but it's unacceptable." I was healed and able to turn and when I did, I moved forward to join the conversation. Loren came and blocked my path, leaving me at least two meters away from them.

"Before training starts, Tessa explains how we shouldn't hold back, how she wants us to fight, as if there's a real enemy against us." "And you took it literally?!" Pears was enraged. "Pears." Loren's angry voice made him take a step back and nod in apology. "Alpha, if you allow me, we're just doing our jobs. We're telling them to not hold back to help them achieve more." But he never used those words during his trainings.

Alpha turned to Tessa, who was silent and looking at me angrily.

"Did you really use those words?"

She looked at him and then bowed her head again. "Yes, Alpha."

"Then you got what you wanted."

I looked at him surprised. I thought he would defend his subordinates and would use this opportunity to get rid of me.

"Tessa, I want you and Pears in my office immediately." Pears looked at Gideon with surprise and concern. Then he cast one last dirty look at me, put his arms around Tessa's shoulders, and turned.

Gideon looked at me thoughtfully. I guess I hurried with the conclusions and now he was thinking of my punishment.

Before he could speak, Gideon looked like someone was mind-linking him, and then went somewhere without giving me a second look.

"Loren, what happened? What is going to happen with me?"

"I don't know what he will decide for you, but we will have to wait until we get the answer. Alpha's father has just arrived. The former Alpha King."
