Ivi
A couple of days after what happened with Marla there were still no consequences for what I did. The day after, Pears came to my room and with a cold voice just told me that I can't come to train for two weeks. And after the two weeks expire, they'd see.
So again, I was left with only my job as a help agent. It was better that way though. Because I wasn't sure how we'll be able to look at each other now. We needed time to cool off.
Emmet told me that everyone was against me and that I was the hottest topic in our group. For him, training was torture, although he was not given much attention now.
And I had to think about my other problem. My Heat period was knocking on the door and I needed a partner. Loren surprised me by saying she can't help me choose and she doesn't have any recommendations. I guess I'd have to find someone by myself.
Pears and Tessa were like evil dogs that I had to go around and I noticed that a lot of the pack members started to ignore me while before that they were friendly toward me. I guess Pears had spread the news. Even Dev was cautious when we were in front of other pack members. She'll smile politely but distantly and then she'd start to mind-link me.
"I'm sorry but Pears and Tessa have a lot of friends here. They're very popular. You chose the wrong members to mess with."
Like I started the whole thing.
The second week I received very good news. Gideon was making a group of pack members who are willing to go into a neighbor's pack territory to help them with some rogue problems. There were no specific requirements and Loren suggested that I should go there and choose one of them as a partner, so I would not have to worry about the outcome of our affair. So I volunteered immediately, writing my name in the papers.
The next day I was called by the Alpha, which amazed me because he said he didn't want to see me in front of him. What could be so important that made him want to see me?
When I arrived, I passed Tessa in the office lobby. She was standing next to Finn's desk and looked at me with a grin. I knocked with uncertainty on the door and after a short "come in' I opened it and quickly settled in front of Alpha. He was leaning over his desk, writing something, and I had to wait a while to get his attention. This gave me the opportunity to look at him undisturbed and with guilty pleasure I checked him out. He wore a white shirt on which he had rolled up its sleeves. And his strong, muscular arms moved nimbly as he examined and filled in page after page.
He certainly was nature's masterpiece. His face was handsome but masculine with a well-sculpted strong jaw and lips that...
"Ivy!" Startled, I came out of my trance as I glanced into his eyes, blushing. His look was disturbed and I saw the anxiety written in them. For a minute both of us were silent like nobody dared to speak but finally he composed himself. He cleared his throat and began with a serious tone.
"I understand you wrote your name as a volunteer for the group I'm going to send to the Venix pack?"
"Yes, Alpha."
"Why?"
I looked at him with confusion.
"I can be of help. I can fight. I don't see why not."
"Your trainers don't seem to agree though. Pears told me you're not a good choice."
My eyes widened in surprise.
"I have no idea why."
"They told me you're too weak to fight. Is it true you don't go to train anymore?"
I was overwhelmed by their impudence, but I didn't know how much truth I could afford to tell. "It is but it's their order, not my wish."
"How am I supposed to let you go when my best warriors are telling me you can't do it?" "Alpha, I can. I'm strong. I don't have any problems with fighting, I assure you. I don't get why they would tell you something like that."
I looked down because my eyes were so expressive, he would certainly be able to tell that I lie. I've never been good at lying.
When I saw he was still hesitant, my pride flew out the window.
"Alpha, please, let me go. Think of it like that, you'll be able to get rid of me for a while..."
"Just for a while is not enough." I was about to take offense but then I saw the laughter dancing in his eyes. And I lost words. He was so handsome when he was in a good mood. His smile gradually faded and I saw desire in them now.
"Ivi, I said don't look at me like that."
"Like how?" I almost whispered. My mouth went dry and I stared at his lips. He stared back at me with an almost unbearable intensity. When I licked my lips he cursed and stood abruptly, at the same time the door opened up and the Gamma Donnovan and Pears came inside. Gideon turned his back toward us and glanced through the window.
"Alpha...Are we interfering?"
He shook his head and Pears said to me.
"Ivi, leave us alone!"
I was so worried about what I was feeling that I wasn't even angry at Pears's commanding tone and unpleasant look.
I wasn't an inexperienced little she-wolf. I was a full-grown female who knew what was lust and I could recognize it anywhere.
Gideon wanted me. Or he just needed s*x. I wasn't sure yet If it was a desire specifically for me or just a simple need but I didn't plan on finding out anyway.
It was time for serious actions.
"Dev? I need your advice."
"What is it?"
"I need a male."
