Chapter 28 Who Is Behind The Mask?

3007 Words
[Stella’s POV] “Stella? What are you doing here?” Armaros asked in shock, as I went into the room and locked the door behind me. He seemed to be unharmed, as he was sitting cuffed to a chair. “What does it look like – saving your àss, of course!” I spoke as I began to remove the cuffs. “By the way, what is the deal with those masked men?” I continued, as Armaros shrugged. “I don’t know, I have no idea who or what they are. They haven’t spoken to me once. I guess they don’t want anyone to know who they are.” He explained, as I believed he might be right about that, but even if I was curious about it, I didn’t intend to stay and find out. “Now, we have to get out of here before..” I started, but before I was able to finish, Armaros took hold of me, before he claimed my lips, in the most passionate kiss that I had ever experienced. His tongue moved in a way that felt like it was trying to remember how I tasted. As he pulled away, I looked at him rather perplexed. “I shouldn’t have left you, I.. Your father was just so damn convincing about the fact, that I was the one putting you in danger, so I thought it would be best to just stay away from you..” Armaros spoke, as he was still holding one hand on the back of my head and the other one on my cheek, as he gently moved his thumb over it, while he studied my features. I grabbed hold of his jacket, as I pulled him in for another kiss, as his hands moved to my back. “Well, I will probably be in danger no matter what, so being with you doesn’t make that much of a difference.. You are not that special.” I replied with a wink, as he grinned, and once again he pulled me in for a kiss, while he moved his hands down my back, before placing both of them on my butt. “Hey, be nice!” I spoke, as I hit him in a playful manner, only leaving me with a chuckle from him. “I’ll try.. But you’re just making it so damn hard..” he replied, as I shook my head at his cocky behavior, that part he clearly hadn’t lost. “If you say so, Mr. Smooth-talker..” I chuckled. “.. But we really have to get going now.” I added, as I made a portal in front of us, making Armaros’ eyes widen, as he proceeded to take a step back in response. “Is that even safe?” he replied. “I mean.. I’m not..” he spoke, while looking swiftly between me and the portal, as I smiled. “Oh, so now you worry about safety – are you scared?” I asked, as I couldn’t help but tease him a little. After all those times he had been teasing me, it felt kinda good. “I’m not scared, I just.. Wasn’t prepared for it, that’s all.” He tried to dismiss “It’s perfectly safe, so don’t worry.” I spoke as I took a hold of his hands, and pulled him with me. Then we walked through it, and soon after, we were standing outside the building where I had left the others, and I was glad to see Baal was there too. “She really did it.” Bella beamed, as she, Kyan, Jaze, Lior, and Vicca seemed relieved, even Baal and Shax too. “I didn’t doubt it for one second!” Shax stated, as Baal rolled his eyes and shook his head. “Of course you didn’t..” he chuckled, as I then turned back to Armaros. “It might be time for me to say, thank you for coming to my rescue.” Armaros spoke, as I grinned. “Well, you are very welcome, though I can’t take the whole honor.” I replied, as he then gave me one of his sexy smiles, before he pulled me closer. “You do realize all your men are standing right there, right?” I asked, as he just continued to smile, while he shrugged carelessly. “I don’t care..” he replied, before he placed a kiss on my lips, but suddenly, we heard a single-handed applause, as we both turned surprised to see Armaros’ father walk towards us. [..] “What an exceptional gift you have there, I must say, I don’t recollect ever seeing your mother do anything quite like that, it’s very impressive!” Damon stated as Stella looked at him confused, while Armaros placed himself in front of her. “What are you doing here, father?” Armaros spoke in a strained voice, clearly knowing he had just lost face, but he still held himself high. “Testing a theory, of course, and I guess I was right.” He stated. “So, you are the one who had those clowns restrain me here?” Armaros snapped, which Damon only returned with a nod. “Well, of course I did.. I knew you were lying to me, Armaros, I just needed prof.. I would say I’m disappointed, but you have always had a way of doing that since you were little, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise. I truly have no idea how you possibly could be my son. You might look like me on the outside, but your personality.. Tsk, that’s nothing like me.” Damon stated, as Armaros just glared at him, while he proceeded to click his tongue. “Then I at least have one thing to be happy about!” Armaros shot back, while both of them kept glaring at each other. “I’m getting tired of all your failed attempts to defy me, Armaros, so I will get straight to it.. I’m gonna need your little girlfriend.” Damon stated, as Armaros frowned, and Stella’s eyes widened. “Not gonna happen, you might believe you still got some kind of power over me, but you don’t. I will not let you do anything to her!” Armaros snapped angrily. “Well, it’s not really up to you.. You see, I’ve already thought this through..” Damon explained, as he snapped his fingers, before Damien and all those demons Stella didn’t know, pulled out their güns and pointed at her cousins and Armaros' men, which clearly took them off guard. “I don’t appreciate you making me look like a fool, but since I feel like being generous today, I’m willing to make an exchange.” He replied, only earning him a glare. “What should any of us ever want from you?” Armaros snapped, as a mischievous smile spread on Damon’s lips. “Damien!” Damon called out, as Damien grabbed hold of Bella and pointed the gün at her head. “How about her cousin’s life?” Damon spoke, as his eyes moved to Stella, as he was waiting for her answer. “Don’t listen to him Stella, you shouldn’t think about me, just save yourself..” Bella yelled, while she tried to get free from his hold, but Damien tightened his grasp around her and pressed the gun harder against her head, making her whimper and press her eyes closed. “I'd suggest you shut up before you lose that pretty head of yours.” Damien warned her, making Stella jerk. “Don’t you dare hurt her!” Stella yelled, while Damon just grinned as he looked at Armaros and Stella. “You see, even if it doesn’t apply to you, Armaros, I know how fond this girl beside you is of protecting those she loves. You’re pretty predictable that way sweetie.. Just like I remember your mother was.” Damon spoke. [Stella’s POV] “What do you even want from me? I have nothing of value to you.” I asked in disbelief, as my eyes kept moving in Bella’s direction. “Oh, sweet Stella, that’s where you’re wrong.. You are undoubtedly what I want.” Damon spoke. “You have no idea just how special and valuable you are,” He added. “So, it’s all about money for you, like always!” Armaros snapped at his father. “Oh, this is much more than just about money, Armaros, though the marked prize does intrigue me a lot – there is a lot more to it than just a simple prizetag,” he stated. “Fine, I will go with you, just don’t hurt her.” I stated as he smirked. “Of course, I promise.” He replied, but then Armaros grabbed hold of my arm. “I’m not letting you do it, Stella!” Armaros growled, as he tightened his hold on me. “What other choice do I have? I can’t let Bella get hurt because of me, Armaros.. I’m sorry, but I have to do it.” I responded. “No! I’ll die before I let you go with him – you have no idea what he’s like.” He stated, as he pulled his gün out and pointed at his father, as he looked angry. I placed a hand on his cheek and made him look at me, as I saw pain hiding behind all that anger, as I gave him a sad smile. “I know you will.. But I can’t let you do that because risking anyone's life because of me is just not an option for me.. Not even yours,” I replied, as he frowned, before I pushed him and opened a portal. Shax, Baal and the rest were staring at me in complete shock, but I did what I needed to do. I knew he didn’t care about anyone else but me, so I couldn’t risk Bella or anyone else getting hurt, or dying. “Wow, that was unexpected.” Damon grinned, as I just stood there thinking that this couldn’t have possibly gone any worse. [..] Armaros landed right outside the tribe’s pack house, but Armaros didn’t even focus on that. He immediately tried to go back before the portal closed, but it was already too late. “Damn it, Stella!” He yelled, as he was too angry to even realize that several people from the tribe were staring at him, as he was having his outburst. When someone suddenly touched his shoulder, he immediately pulled away, and grabbed his gün, as he first at that moment realized who he was pointing the gün at. “Armaros, take it easy.. What happened?” Vlad asked as he placed a hand on the gün, making Armaros lower it. “I have to get back there now. Stella is planning to give herself over to my father because he is using Bella as some kind of bait. I can’t let her do that.. Why haven’t any of you here done anything yet?” Armaros asked accusingly, while their lack of action annoyed him. “We have already tried several times using portals and witchcraft, but it didn’t work, we have not been able to track any of you down at all.” Vlad replied, as he looked defeated. “How? Stella had no problem using hers..” Armaros argued. “I’m not sure.. Maybe her abilities work a little differently from everyone else's, because of what she is, but do you have any idea where it is?” He explained, as Chase and Cathrine suddenly came over to him as well. “No, I didn’t recognize it, I’m not from this area. I just know that it is next to some abandoned building,” Armaros explained, as Cathrine suddenly came even closer. “Maybe I can help with that..” she spoke, as she proceeded to pull out her hand for him. “Would it be okay if I saw your memories? Then perhaps we can get an idea of where they are.” She asked, as he nodded his head, and let her place her hands on his face. [..] “You got what you wanted, now please let Bella go!” Stella stated as Damon raised an eyebrow. “You really think that I’m stupid enough to not get insurance? With abilities like those you have, you could clearly try to run any minute. I’ve been screwed over too many times to make the same mistake again, sweetheart.” “But, we had an agreement!” Stella stated. “Well.. I did keep it, didn’t I? I told you that I would spare her life, right? I didn’t say anything about letting her go. Perhaps I’ll consider it when I’m sure you won’t run away.. But if at any moment you feel like testing my patience, I can end her life just like that.” Damon exclaimed, as he snapped his fingers. “You do realize our parents can show up at any given moment now, right?” Lior suddenly yelled, as Damon looked at him for a moment, as he didn’t seem the least faced by it. “Actually, they can’t..” Damon grinned, as I knitted my eyebrows. “I knew your parents would come after you as soon as you left the tribe, so I made sure they couldn’t.. I really have no need to deal with any more distractions, so luckily for me, I knew just the right witch, there, could help me make sure that wouldn’t happen..” He explained as he focused on me again. “.. But somehow it doesn’t apply to you, that just makes this much more fun, doesn’t it?” He grinned. “Okay, I’m done with this little chit-chat now, get these two into the cars and let’s get on with it.” Damon stated. “Abbadon, take the little wolf, I’ll deal with our little hybrid myself.” Damien spoke, as he handed Bella to Abbadon, before he walked up to Stella and took hold of her arms. “See, I told you, you eventually would run out of luck and people to protect you,” Damien stated. But Stella didn’t answer him, instead she just glared at him. “What? Did you run out of smart comments?” He asked, but despite Damien’s attempt to get a reaction from her, she still didn’t say anything, as he leaned closer to her ear. “You know what? It doesn’t matter anyway, cause soon enough you will beg me for mercy – and I’m gonna enjoy every moment, as I watch you break down slowly.” He stated mockingly. “Stop messing around, and get her into the car, Damien, you are wasting our time!” Damon growled, as he glanced in his father’s direction. “Just a minute!” He replied, before turning back to Stella. “Guess the old man is tired of waiting – oh, and Baal, I’m sorry you couldn’t keep that promise of yours, but you can hardly call this a betrayal, when it’s how it has always been, right?” Damien stated, clearly mocking Baal for his earlier remark, and then he began dragging Stella, as she glanced at the others for a moment. [Stella’s POV] I ended up in a car with Damien and Damon. Damien was sitting next to me, as Damon was opposite to me, When the driver jumped in and the car began to move. Damon picked up a small silver suitcase, and took out some gloves and a syringe and three small tubes. “Give me your arm.” Damon demanded, but as I hesitated for a moment, Damien grabbed my arm and pulled it forward, while Damon proceeded to draw the samples of bloòd from my arm, which he placed back in the silver suitcase and closed it. As he removed the gloves and picked up a cigarette, I decided to speak. “You still haven’t told me what you even want with me.” I spoke, as he just watched me for a moment before he smirked. “You really wanna know?” He asked, as I nodded my head, as he then tilted his head slightly. “Okay then, let me give you an idea of what’s going to happen.. Firstly, I want you to tell me what other abilities you have.. Secondly, I’m gonna test the blood I have just drawn from you, to see how it’s different from everyone else's, and.. That’s all you get for now, we shouldn’t spoil all the fun, am I right?” Damon stated, as he took another hit of his cigarette. “So, I’m basically your lab-rat, is that what you are trying to say?” I asked, as Damien grabbed my chin, making me look at him. “Don’t be so picky sweetface, I can make other arrangements too, if you'd like?” Damien stated, as he placed his other hand on my thigh. “I would rather choke, then let you touch me.. Ever.” I snarled, as I slapped his hand away. But then he grabbed me by the throat. “You think you have anything to say about it?” He growled. “Let her be, Damien! As long as we don’t know what she is capable of, you should be more careful.” Damon warned, as Damien looked at me for some time, clearly píssed. “Better listen to daddy.” I mocked him, just loud enough, for him to hear me without Damon catching on to it, as he kept glaring at me. Luckily, he didn’t call my bluff, and started to let go. “This is not over.” He warned me, but right at that moment, the car suddenly jerked, as the driver hit the brakes. “What the hell is going on?” Damon growled, as he clearly wasn’t prepared for the sudden stop.
