Chapter 51 Calling Upon Death

[Stella’s POV] “Feeling any better?” I asked, as Daliah gave me an embarrassed smile. “No, but it’s okay, you haven’t done this before, so I’m just grateful you tried,” she replied, but I couldn’t help but feel like a failure. What was all that power for, if I couldn’t even use it when I wanted to? But then I got another idea. “I might not be able to use my abilities to do it yet, but like I said, my bloòd has healing abilities too. If I let you have some of it, you will definitely heal in no time!” I spoke, as I skimmed the room for any sharp objects. “I appreciate your effort, Stella, but you shouldn’t hurt yourself like that. You already lost a lot of blood yesterday, and from what I’ve heard, Damon plans to take more of it,” Daliah rejected. “It’s okay, and what does one less drop of blood gonna do anyway?” I defended, as I soon realized there was no possible object in our reach. “Then this will have to do for now,” I spoke, as I took one of my earrings out and pricked my finger. “Here you go!” I chipped, as she looked rather torn about it. “Come on! I’m giving you permission to drink it, so don’t look like you’re doing something wrong.” I spoke, as her eyes moved between me and the blood on my finger. “Fine!” She sighed, before she took hold of my hand and sucked the drop of blood from my finger. “So?” I spoke curiously as she shrugged. “I don’t feel anything, I’m not sure it..” she started, but then her eyes widened, as she lifted her blouse slightly and the bruise surely started to fate until there was nothing to see, like it was never there in the first place. “Is the pain gone too?” I asked her, and she nodded her head astonished, before she hugged me. “Thank you so much!” She blurred out, as her eyes were glassy when she looked at me again. “Don’t mention it, you at least deserve not to be in any pain,” I explained, when we once again heard the door being unlocked, and as expected, Damon came into view, while scanning the room. The moment he saw Mag lying dead on the floor, he looked at me, more píssed than ever before, even more than that one time he hit me in front of Armaros, which made me swallow a lump. “Take them, and follow me!” He ordered, as four of his men walked into the room and grasped hold of each of our arms. Damon stood by the door, as the first two passed him with Daliah, but as I was pulled towards the door, he made them pause for a moment. “I know you think you’re smart, but I’ve already played every possible scenario in my head, so whatever idea you have going on up there, I recommend you to let it go, ‘cause it’s only going to hurt you, and everyone around you.” He stated coldly, before he made a quick movement with his head, and they continued to head down the hall. “Where are they taking her?” I asked, as the ones holding Daliah continued further down the hall, while Damon and those who held on to me stopped once again. “That’s none of your business!” He snarled, as he opened the door, and once again I found myself in the room from the day before. “You promised I could have something to eat before you would do this again!” I reminded, while I tried fighting against the two men, as they forced me to sit down and cuffed my hands to the table. “I did, but that was before you killed one of my men, so you didn’t seem to need it that much,” he snapped, while he started removing the bandage from my hand. “I wouldn’t have done that if you hadn’t tried to make him hurt Daliah!” I snapped, but he didn’t answer. He just continued to sanitize the IV before placing the IV line on it and then a new blood-bag. “I’m going to get sick or die this way!” I proclaimed, as he glared at me. “Loosing 32 ounces of blood won’t kill you, so cut the cràp Stella, and if you get sick, your new friends here, got you a bucket this time,” he stated carelessly, as he turned on the IV and the blood-bag slowly began to fill up. I sighed in frustration, but with no way of getting out of it, I could as well try to get some information out of him. “I still have no idea what you want with me. Surely you wanted me before you knew about my bloòd, so you must have another reason to keep me here. Am I right?” I shot. “You’re right, I did..” he spoke calmly, as he was focused on the blood-bag. He corrected the IV line and the blood-bag occasionally while he spoke. “But my reasons for keeping you now are far more interesting. Back when I realized who you were, I wanted you solely to get revenge on your foolish parents. I believed I would get the opportunity to have you, by simply telling Armaros to hand you over, but he was clearly too smitten, and after all my hard work of turning him in to a ruthless killer that hated werewolves, you changed him, just like that!” Damon stated as he snapped his fingers. “He is not ruthless, he is actually a very caring and loving person – unlike you!” Stella hissed, making Damon scoff. “I know, it’s actually pretty annoying, his mother was just like that, which is why I needed to keep her as far away from him as possible, she was turning him soft!” He revealed, making me knit my eyebrows. “She didn’t leave him, you’re the one who drove her away, how could you be so coldhearted?” I scolded. “Trying to guilt-trip me now? Shouldn’t you know by now it doesn’t work like that? Of course, I did. I was in need of a strong hire, so I chose a suitable candidate and got her pregnant, and all she needed to do was raise him like I wanted it to be done, but she was too nice and too loving to a part where she almost ruined my plans for him, so I sent her as far away, as I could.” “My second attempt was to work as a backup plan. It was a little better, he at least does what I asked him to, but he’s just not that calculated as Armaros, he drives too much on his emotions to a part where he can’t control his rage or desires, and that makes him a weak leader.” Damon explained, as he turned off the IV when the blood-bag was filled up. Then he removed the IV line before putting a new one on as he placed a bag with some kind of liquid in it and placed it on an infusion-stand. “What is that?” I asked skeptically, not trusting him at all. “Relax, it’s just water, to make sure you aren’t getting dehydrated,” he explained before he sat down again. “Did you think I would poison you?” He smirked, while I narrowed my eyes. “Who knows what’s going on in that sick head of yours,” I mumbled, as he leaned closer. “What did you say?” He asked, as I quickly changed subject. “Nothing, but you’re saying your sons aren’t leader material because one is too soft in your eyes, and the other one is too emotional.. Has it ever occurred to you that it might be you who’s the problem?” I replied. “It did for a moment, but then again I got this idea.. Why not start from scratch, and this time without all the mistakes?” He replied, making me frown at his outrageous ideas. “Why would anyone agree to that!?” I blurred out, as he just raised an eyebrow at me. “Who said anything about they have to agree, when I pick what I want I don’t care if they want it. Do you really think Armaros’ mother wanted to be with me? No, she only stayed because of Armaros, even though he looks just like me, she still loved that little brat,” Damon scoffed. “Now I definitely know you’re crazy!” I shot, but it only seemed to amuse him. “The crazy part is that you actually believed that to be the case,” he mocked, while he placed a hand on top of mine. “Now, I unfortunately have to go. You see I have a very important meeting, and I can’t let my customers wait, can I?” He spoke, as he headed to the door, followed by his men. ”So, you’re just leaving me here, like this?” I snapped, as he held on to the handle as he looked at me. “Don’t worry, I have made sure you have some company while I’m gone,” he replied, as he opened the door, and the last person I wanted to see stood on the other side. “Remember to remove the IV line correctly. The IV can stay a few more days, and I seriously don’t wanna change it already,” Damon warned. “Sure, no problemo,” Damien stated, as his eyes never wavered from me. “Great! I’ll see you later,” he spoke, before leaving me there alone with Damien. [..] Dagon pushed the door open to Ifrit’s room, as Ifrit observed him looking angrily at him. “What’s wrong with you?” He asked, as Dagon walked straight over and punched him in the face, which made Ifrit fall to the ground. “What made you think it was okay to violate Bella and then threaten her? Did you really think I would take your side!?” Dagon yelled. “First of all, Ouch! And second; not really, though I was hoping she would believe it. But I guess she is smarter than I gave her credit for,” he stated with a shrug, but then Dagon pulled out his gun. “You keep acting like a fücking àss, can’t you be normal? I’m your brother, why do you have to try and take away the one good thing I have going on!” He yelled, as Ifrit rose from the floor and took his hand to his jaw. “I’m not trying to take anything from you. I just felt a little left out, you know, you show up here after two years of nothing, with this gorgeous girl, by the way, and I just get to watch my brother run happily in to the sunset. Nah man! I had to stir that a little, but she seems loyal to you, which might have surprised me, as I’m the one who inherited the good looks, you know..” he trailed off. “Fück you!” Dagon growled as he looked like he really wanted to shoot him, but instead he turned around to leave. “Wait, Dagon! I’m sorry, okay, I didn’t think I would hurt your feelings. I didn’t know you were that serious about her.” “Well, I am, or at least as long as she wants me to be,” he stated, as Ifrit tilted his head. “What does that mean?” “I’m not her mate, okay! If she finds her mate, then I guess it’s over.” He hissed, as he pulled his fingers through his hair. “Oh, the mate-thing, right, I get it. I’ve been through that myself, you know..” Ifrit spoke, as he sat down and took his cigarette pack, he reached one to Dagon, but he shook his head and kept glaring at his brother, making Ifrit sigh, before he took one himself. “I had this threesome one time and.. Well, let’s just say it’s a real mood-killer, but what can you do? It’s a game we are all doomed to lose,” Ifrit spoke. “Still, I don’t need you to ruin it earlier than it’s supposed to. Do you know she was trying to run away?” He hissed at Ifrit, who seemed surprised. “I didn’t expect her to be a runner, not after how she yelled at me last night,” he revealed. “Well, she did, and one of your men shot her, so I’m going to find the one who did it, and then I’m gonna shoot him too,” Dagon stated, before walking towards the door. “Don’t you think that’s a little invasive?” Ifrit asked. “No, I don’t! Also, you’re gonna apologize to Bella, and then we’ll leave, ‘cause I’m done with your shït!” Dagon stated, before he walked out of the room. [Stella’s POV] “You have no idea how pleased I am to see you here,” Damien spoke, as he sat down across from me. “That’s weird ‘cause I feel the exact opposite,” I replied, as I tensed when he took hold of my hand and started to remove the IV line. “I get it, last time we saw each other you and my brother nearly killed me, so you’re probably wondering what I plan to do,” he spoke, as he took the bandage and covered the IV, just like Damon had done the day before. “But, not to worry, I might not have the authority to kill you or harm you in ways that could be life-threatening,” he spoke in such a calm voice, making me unable to fathom what he was thinking. “I’m sure we can still have some fun in other ways,” he added as he got raised from his chair once again and walked up behind me. I felt my heartbeat rise, as he placed his hands on my shoulders, before he suddenly pushed me forward, and kicked the chair away while he pinned me down to the table. I could feel how he pressed himself against me, and I just wanted to shift, blow him away or just anything really, but I couldn’t move a muscle. I felt completely useless, and utterly terrified at the same time. “You’re shaking, not feeling so brave anymore, I see. I’ll make sure to make this day unforgettable for both of us,” he spoke, as he started to pull my dress up, which only made me panic. “No! Let me go!” I screamed, but he only found my attempt amusing. “Scream all you want, it’s only going to make this even more thrilling,” he spoke as he pushed my dress all the way over my butt. At that moment, I lost every hope of Ezra ever showing up, but then the door flew up, which made Damien jump up in shock. “Ventus oriri praemisit!” Ezra yelled, as he raised his hand against Damien, before he flew back and hit the wall with such force, that he was clearly out as a light. “Are you okay, Stella?” He asked as he came over and helped me up. “Patefio,” he spoke once again, and immediately the cuffs fell off. “I.. I think so, but why did it take you so long!” I hissed when I got over the shock. He sent me an apologetic glance.” “I’m sorry, but Damon first agreed to let me see my sister this morning, so I had no other choice than to wait it out, but I came as soon as I had made sure she was safe,” he explained. “I’m glad she’s alright, I was worried to know what he planned to do to her, when they took her away.” I sighed in relief. “Don’t worry, I’ll make sure both of you will get out of here safely. Come! I had my sister hide down here, so we just have to get her,” he smiled, before I followed him. “Daliah,” Ezra called in a whisper, before she got up from behind some boxes. “Stella, you are okay,” Daliah whispered too, as she hugged me. “I am, and I’m glad you are too,” I replied. [..] “Okay, now we need to stay calm, I have a plan, but it’s..” but before he was able to explain further, they heard several gunshots. “Get down!” He hissed, as he pushed both of them down. When it quieted down, Ezra rose from the hideout and looked at Stella and Daliah. “Stay here, I’ll get you when I’ve made sure it’s safe,” Ezra spoke. “Please be careful, Ezra!” Daliah whispered, as he gave a nod, before he ran out of there. He continued quietly down the hall as he saw numerous of Damon’s men, lying scattered around the room, shot with a single bullet through each of their heads. “Did he actually show up?” Ezra mumbled to himself, but when he passed a corner, someone suddenly grabbed hold of him. “I should kill you for this!” Armaros growled, as he grabbed Ezra by the throat and pushed him against the wall, while he held his gun against his head. “Hey relax, okay, I never intended for anything to happen to Stella, she agreed to help me, okay? I intended to return her safely after, if you haven’t taken the bait,” he stated, making Armaros frown. “What the hell is that supposed to mean?” He hissed, as he loosened his hold a little, so Ezra was actually able to speak. “I wanted you to know who took her. To be honest, I didn‘t need a van to get her out of there. If I had wanted to, I could just have gotten someone to open a portal for me. I would have been gone in seconds, but I needed you to know it was me,” he explained. “Why? Are you so eager for me to kill you?” He snapped, as he tightened his hold a little, making Ezra fight against his hold. “No, no, I know your father isn’t an easy man to deal with, so I needed you to work as a distraction, to get my sister and Stella out of here,” he explained, as he took a deep breath when Armaros finally let go of his neck. “Then where are they?” He barked, as he clearly was getting impatient. “Just down the hall. I asked them to stay hidden ‘til I returned,” he replied, as he coughed a little. “Fine. Let’s get them out of here, then,” Armaros stated as he turned down the hall. “But.. What about your fath.. Uhm, I mean Damon?” Ezra asked, while Armaros looked at him indifferently. “He’s dead, so I guess you’re free to go after this.” Armaros answered, making Ezra’s eyes widen. “You mean.. You really killed him?” Ezra blurred out, but Armaros shook his head. “I guess someone else wanted him dead, just as much as I did,” Armaros replied. “But if it wasn’t you, who was it?” He asked, confused. “Unfortunately, I was just a little too late to know who actually did it.. Now let’s just get the girls, and get out of here.” Armaros answered, as both of them continued down the hall, not realizing someone was watching them from afar.
