Chapter 53 My Mate

3475 Words
[Three weeks later] Armaros walked into a club, and he didn’t come very far before he caught the sight of Dagon kissing with some random girl near the bar. “So this is where you have been hiding!” Armaros exclaimed, as he was standing beside them. Dagon turned to look at him, before he turned back to the girl. “Leave!” He spoke to the girl rudely. “Àsshole!” She hissed at him offended, before she walked away, while Dagon sat back down and continued to take a shot, which he clearly already had too many of. “What the fück do you want, Armaros?” He hissed without looking at him. “What do you think? You disappear with Stella’s cousin and then three weeks ago you call to say you have left her with her supposed mate and then nothing!” “So what? You’re not my dad, I don’t have to ask for your permission to do what I want!” He dismissed. “You’re right, but I’m your friend, you could’ve asked for help, instead of drowning yourself in self-pity!” he defended. “Weren’t you the one who first left me at that tribe, and then went on a suicide mission three weeks ago to destroy everything and everyone? You didn’t need me back then, and I sure as hell don’t need you now!” Dagon snarled. “Right! ‘Cause you’re clearly doing great,” he spoke sarcastically before he sat down next to him. “Actually, I am. Now fück off!” He snarled, before he banged the shot glass down on the table, making it splinter, but Armaros didn’t seem impressed. “Then I guess you don’t need this either,” Armaros stated, as he placed an envelope on the table. “What’s that?” He asked as he narrowed his eyes. “A letter,” Armaros replied bluntly. “I’m not fücking blind, Armaros, I can see that!” He growled, as he picked it up and turned it around, but there was no sender. “Who’s it from?” “As you can see, there is no sender on it, but Stella took a whiff, and she believes it’s from Bella,” he explained, making Dagon grimace at his answer. “I don’t want it! She probably just wanna tell how fücking great she’s doing,” he snarled as he placed it back on the table and asked the bartender for another round of shots. “Dagon, this is the first and only sign from her. She hasn’t called her parents once. You were the last one to see and talk to her. You really don’t wanna know how she is doing?” Armaros frowned at him, as he grabbed on to his wrist before he was able to take another shot. “Fine, I’ll read that damn letter!” He sighed, annoyed, as he stared at the envelope with his name on, addressed to the tribe, before he picked it up and ripped it open. [2 months later] “Tell me what you know about the Green Oak Pack?” Dagon asked, as the man in front of him looked at him. “They are one of the werewolf packs that never settle in one place. We call them travelers. They tend to show up at random places and disappear without a trace. You shouldn’t mess with them, kid. They are bad news.” He spoke with a shrug, but his eyes widened as Dagon took a hold of his jacket. “Tell me something I don’t know already, like, how do I find them?” Dagon growled. “You don’t, they find you. I’m sorry, but if you’re looking for them, you should give up already. Whatever you want from them, it’s a lost cause.” He replied, as he had a fearful look in his eyes. “No, I’ll never give up! They took someone important to me, and as long she is still out there, I will keep on looking for her!” Dagon growled as he pushed him, so he stumbled to the ground. Then Dagon walked out of there. It wasn’t the first time that one of his leads turned to a dead end. This Alpha was covering his tracks better than anyone he had ever met before. No one knew who he was or where he was going next. Dagon took out his cigarette pack and placed one in his mouth, but then he crushed the pack in his hand and threw the cigarette, before placing both hands on his face and pulled them down over it. He gave a frustrated sigh and took out the letter he had kept in his pocket since he received it two months ago. After having read it, he regretted leaving Bella with the Green Oak Pack, and he had been searching non-stop for her ever since. [The letter] “My dearest Dagon I’m truly sorry that I broke your heart, but the Alpha didn’t give me another choice. He was threatening to kill you if I hadn’t done it. I can’t live in a world where you’re gone. So, call me selfish, you can even hate me if it makes it easier, but I want you to know, even if he is my mate, you will always be my epic love, and I will always love you. Sincerely yours Bella”
“I promise, I will find you, one way or another, Bella, I won’t give up on you - not again.” Dagon whispered as he folded the letter again, and placed it back in his jacket. [Three months ago - Bella’s POV] “After you!” Parker chipped with a smile, as he waved a hand for her, when he had lifted the cover for her. “Thanks, do you maybe have some water?” Bella asked, when she had walked in to the tent and scanned it, and realized no one else was there. “Sure, over here” he replied as he picked up a water-bottle from a cooler in the corner. “Here you go,” he added as he handed it to her, but when she took it, she purposely touched his hand, making her jump by the sudden sparks. “I knew it! You tricked me.” Bella stated accusingly. He was surprised by her act, but immediately he started to chuckle. “Okay, you got me, I’m the Alpha,” he spoke as he walked closer to her. “Why did you lie? Why not just be honest?” She asked as she tried keeping her distance. “I needed to talk to you alone, you see. Normally, I do not let anyone walk away alive knowing my true identity, ‘cause as you know, I have a reputation to maintain,” he chuckled. “But how did you even figure out I was your mate?” Bella asked. “I have known about you for months actually, I first caught up on your scent when I was traveling through this demon territory, but of course, you didn’t know ‘cause I’m always covering my scent.” He revealed, as he touched her face. “It probably wouldn’t be necessary to hide it if you weren’t making so many enemies,” Bella stated, while she tried stepping further away from him, but he took hold around her waist. “Touché! But you put me on quite the mission to find you. I’ve been searching through every pack I have come across, in this state, just to find out that some demon got ahead of me. You can probably imagine my disappointment when I realized my mate had run off with a demon,” he continued. “I’m sure it must have been frustrating, but would you mind letting go of me,” Bella spoke, as the tingly feeling was beginning to make her dizzy. “Why? Does it bother you? I happen to find it rather nice, actually. You have no idea how long I have wanted to do this,” he spoke, as he leaned closer, but she dodged him. “I agreed to talk to you, not for you to kiss me,” Bella exclaimed. “You’re right, that was rather rude, you don’t know me, but we have plenty of time to get to know each other better, once you tell me how to get rid of that demon,” he spoke. “I haven’t agreed to stay here,” she defended, when she finally managed to push herself away from Parker, which made him sigh. Bella could clearly see frustration in his features. “Listen Bella, I feel like I have been pretty considerate, despite your indiscretion, but for you to keep acting like this is not fitting,” he stated sternly. “Oh, I’m indiscreet you say, you rather I lie or pretend to be someone else!” Bella snapped, as he unexpectedly slapped her across the face, making her fall to the floor, as she looked down in shock. “I’m sorry, I should not have done that, but you were crossing the line Bella, and I don’t tolerate disrespect. You must try to understand how it feels to hear one's mate talk like that,” he spoke, as he squatted down next to her. She still kept her eyes on the floor, and wished she could just disappear. “Let me take a look,” he spoke tenderly. Then he grabbed a hold on her chin and gently stroked her cheek, while she clamped her eyes closed. “Look at me, Bella,” he ordered, as she slowly opened her eyes, and watched him cautiously. “I don’t wanna hurt you, or wish you to fear me, but I have some ground rules. Normally, such behavior would have served a punishment, but since you just arrived here, I’ll let it slide this time,” he spoke as he smiled at her. Then he pulled her up from the floor, before he changed subject. “Traditionally, when someone is going after another’s mate, the right thing would be to challenge them, but for your “friend” to challenge me, an Alpha, would be rather unwise, as weapons aren’t allowed in these kinds of fights. I would probably only take me a moment to kill him, but I’ll let him walk away for your sake, if that’s what you want,” he spoke as he placed a kiss on her hand. [Bella - three months later] Bella closed her eyes to think of something else, as Parker plunged into her faster and harder, before he finally released inside her. Then she felt him leaving a trail of kisses on her body until they were face to face, and she knew she had to open them and look at him. “When I’ve marked you, I’m going to put my pups inside this glorious body of yours,” he spoke, before kissing her lips. “Are you going to let me do it today?” He asked, when he continued to kiss her neck while he nibbled it gently. “Why not just do whatever you want? That’s what you do with everything else,” Bella replied with no care, which made him pull away, so he could look at her. “You know it doesn’t work like that, if I mark you against your will, the chance of survival is only 50%, I’m not interested in killing my mate,” he stated with a stern face, as her remark clearly irritated him. “Would you really choose death over being with me?” He shot, as she let her head tilt to the side, but he grabbed on to her cheeks with his hand, as he fórced her to look at him. “Don’t ignore me when I’m asking you a question, Bella!” He growled. “I’ve tried to give you time to settle down and get over that ridiculous crush of yours, but I’m not going to take your disrespect anymore. You might be my mate and the future Luna of this pack, but it won’t stop me from punishing you. If you keep this up, understand!” he warned her, as she nodded without saying a word. “Then say it!” He told her, as his hold on her face became painful. “Okay, I’m sorry, I won’t do it again,” she replied, while tears appeared in her eyes. “Good! See, that wasn’t so hard, was it?” He spoke, as he loosened his hold a bit, and gently kissed her lips. “You mean the world to me, and I’m not going to lose my mate to some low life piece of shít, Bella,” he spoke in a calm voice, as he moved his hand to her hair. He let his fingers run through it, before he pressed his length against her entrance once again, and buried himself deep in her with one hard thrust. When he finished off, he got up from the bed and took his clothes on. “We are leaving tonight, so I’ll have to get some things done, so I'd suggest you get yourself washed up, ‘cause I want you to meet me for breakfast in 30 minutes,” he spoke. He was about to leave the tent, when a girl came in. “Good morning Alpha, good morning my Luna,” she greeted as she kept her eyes on the ground. She wasn’t very tall, her black hair was placed in a low bun, and her constant downcast eyes made it hard to decipher her eye color and features. “Help her get cleaned up, I want her ready for breakfast in 30 minutes!” He ordered. She nodded and bowed as he passed her. Then she walked over to Bella and helped her out of bed and covered her up, before he led her to the bathing area, where she started to wash her back with a sponge. “If I knew you would keep this up, I would never have helped you send that letter, my Luna,” the girl spoke nervously, as she continued to wash Bella’s arms. “Please, Liana, won’t you at least just call me my name when we’re alone? And I know, but I can’t help it,” she sighed, as Liana’s sky-colored eyes flickered to hers. “Listen, my Lu.. I mean Bella, you are one of the lucky ones, the Alpha is treating you better than most of us could ever dream of, in a mate, so please stop being stubborn, I’m begging you, be smart about this!” She pleaded with her. “You're only saying that because you never felt love like I have, and I’m telling you, this is not love. He might say he loves me, but if he really did, he wouldn’t hurt me,” Bella defended, as she thought about Dagon. “When you love someone, you wanna do anything to make sure they’re safe, and not threaten them to be obedient or.. Sèxual assàult them whenever you feel like it,” she spoke as the last part was more of a distant murmurer. “Don’t say things like that, my Luna, it’s a woman’s duty to attain to her mate’s needs and satisfy him in every way he could possibly wish for, or you will be useless to him.” “Liana, we are not useless, we do not exist alone to pleasure men’s needs,” Bella spoke. “Sure you do, and you should watch that little mouth of yours if you don’t wish to get in trouble,” a dark voice stated. She turned to look towards the entrance, where she saw Harley. “You have no right to walk in here, Harley. This is my private bathroom, and the Alpha would be furious if he were to know that you walked in on me while I’m bathing,” Bella warned him, but it was all a facade. Inside she was terrified of him. “You’re right, but he would also be, if not even more so, if I were to tell him what his mate is tattling about, behind his back, my Luna,” he warned, as he narrowed his eyes. “My Luna is still a bit confused Sir, please excuse her manners,” Liana apologized, as she bowed deeply in front of Harley. “You’re defending your Luna's honors. How noble of you, miss.. What was your name again?” Harley asked, as he stepped closer to her. “Liana, Sir, I’m the Luna’s personal caretaker, my job is to help my Luna,” she replied as he grabbed her face and made her look at him. “You are a pretty one.. Very well, I let it slide this time,” Harley spoke, as he shortly eyed Bella, before he let go of Liana and walked out again, and Liana sighed deeply. “You nearly got us both in trouble, my Luna,” Liana spoke as her voice was shaking, but she quickly composed herself. “I’m so sorry, Liana. I didn’t mean for you to..” “It doesn’t matter, just hurry, the Alpha is waiting for you,” Liana shook off, as she gave a small bow and headed for the exit. ---- “You’re late!” Parker stated as Bella walked in. “I’m sorry,” she apologized, while he observed her for a moment. “Just sit down already,” he dismissed, as Bella sat down by the small table opposite to him, as she took the fork and picked up a piece of watermelon. He reached over to her, and took a hold of her free hand and pulled it closer to his face. “You smell nice,” Parker complimented, as his eyes shortly shifted as he looked at her. “Thank you,” she spoke in a low voice, as she started to move her foot up and down. “Parker? I would like to see my parents.” She spoke, as he looked at her with a skeptical look. “Really, why now? Weren’t you the one who chose to run away from your home in the first place?” He asked, as she had all his attention on her. “I did, but I didn’t have much of a choice at the time. I haven’t seen or talked to them for almost four months now. I miss them,” she replied, as she looked down at her plate, and then back up at him. “Maybe I allow it, if you agree to let me mark you,” he spoke, as her eyes widened. “That’s not fair!” She blurred out, as he rose from his chair. “Not fair? You are my mate, Bella, this shouldn’t even be up for discussion, you belong to me!” He yelled. “I’m not an object, Parker,” Bella defended, only to be met by a scoff. “No, you are right, you are a woman that acts like a needy child. You can take my offer or not see your parents at all. End of discussion,” He growled, as tears started to appear in her eyes, when he sat back down while making a frustrated sigh. “Okay, you’re right,” Bella spoke, as Parker frowned, as he looked in her direction. “About what?” He asked, as she dried her tears away. “I’ve been acting childish, and I apologize for that. You are my mate and I shouldn’t question your authority like that,” Bella spoke. “So, I will agree to let you mark me, if you let me see my parents,” she continued. “Are you saying you will stop acting out, and finally submit yourself to me?” He asked, and Bella nodded. “Come over here then,” he spoke, as she rose from her seat and walked up in front of him. “Show me you mean it, Bella,” he spoke, and she dropped to her knees. “I’m giving you permission to mark me, as you wish,” she spoke in a gentle voice, and he placed both his hands on her cheeks and a smile surely appeared on his lips. “You have no idea how long I’ve been waiting to hear those words,” he spoke, before pulling her in for a deep kiss. “I have my men contact your parents as soon as we are settled in our new camp, but I’d like to mark you before we go, ‘cause I want them to know where you belong,” he proclaimed.
