[Stella’s POV - three months ago]
“Are you serious, they’re really coming?!” I beamed, while Armaros buried his hands in his pockets and nodded with a smile.
“At least that’s what he told me before I hung up,” he replied.
“You what? Why would you do that?” I blurred out, confused.
“I was on the way fetching you, remember? And he wouldn’t stop blabbering about going with me, so I did it to get him off my neck,” he spoke, making me push him lightly.
“That was mean, isn’t he your friend, he just wanted to help,” I whined, as he looked at me for a moment, as he frowned.
“He works for me, I don’t have friends,” Armaros spoke bluntly, making me stop in my tracks, as he paused to look at me.
“What in the Moon Goddess' name are you talking about?”
“Shax, Baal and Dagon are your friends, they have helped you so much, and you tell me you don’t consider them as your friends?!” I asked accusingly.
“I never had friends, Stella, how would I know what that means?” he shrugged.
“Friends help you when things get tough and have your back, when you’re in trouble. If they were just working for you, do you really think they would have stayed through all this?” I asked him, as he seemed to be thinking about it.
“I’m right, and you know it,” I spoke as I walked up to him and hugged him.
“I’m terrible at it, they have helped me so many times and all I’ve ever done is throw it back in their faces. Why would they want a friend like that?”
“Because you’re brutally honest, loyal and when they need you, you are there, that is what makes you the perfect friend,” I explained with a smile.
“Friends don’t threaten to kill their friends,” he stated bluntly, as I grimaced at him.
“No, but who said you were flawless? Everyone makes mistakes. You just have to be able to apologize for it, like you did to me,” I spoke, as I let my finger tap his chest.
“Me? Apologizing, that would be the first,” he scoffed.
“Well, there is a first for everything,” I continued.
“I’m not apologizing, Stella!” He told me, making me cross my arms.
“You’re not a child anymore, you should be able to own up to your mistakes,” I spoke seriously, as he stared at me while a grin grew on his lips.
“Why that face?” I asked as he pulled me close.
“Oh, nothing, you’re just so damn cute when you’re trying to be tough with me,” he chuckled as he kissed me, but I pushed him lightly.
“I’m serious, Armaros, I’m not joking around.
“Right, I hear you, now let me kiss my girl,” he laughed, as he took a hold on my cheeks and kissed me.
“You’re clearly taking your time out here, huh?” Shax called out, as we both jumped at the surprise of him and Baal suddenly standing there.
“Sorry, for ruining your mood, but for you to stay put here for over an hour after returning, felt kinda suspicious, especially when someone is here to see you,” Baal continued, as I felt slightly embarrassed.
“Who is it?” Armaros asked, as he clearly knew how I was feeling right now, so he was giving me a moment to compose myself.
“Stella’s parents,” Shax revealed, which made me turn to face them just as he said it.
“They’re here? But why?” I asked.
“We’re not sure they just really wanna see you. Both of you,” Baal replied, as we followed them back to the pack house, but as we were standing on the porch, ready to enter, Armaros' phone started to ring.
“It’s Dagon who’s calling. Just go ahead without me. Maybe he’s calling to say when they will arrive. I’ll just talk to him for a moment,” he spoke, as I nodded and walked through the door, as he stayed outside and picked up the phone.
[Stella’s POV - three months later]
Many things had happened over the past three months.
Firstly, we moved back to the tribe, after my parents and uncles had used so much time finding out who was working with Dilan, Nathan, and the rest of them.
Most of them fled after it was published what had happened, and the rest had been banished from ever returning to the tribe again.
Everyone believed that everything would take a turn for the better, but when Dagon called about Bella, everything took a turn for the worse.
“Is he still out there searching for her?” I asked Armaros.
None of us had seen Dagon for months.
After his last visit, where my uncle Ace had been yelling his ears off for leaving Bella with that pack, and told him not to return unless he knew where she was, he had left.
He had only called a few times to provide some information he had gathered about the Green Oak pack’s whereabouts and only because he felt like he owed Bella’s parents, or that was at least what I believed.
“I guess, but I haven’t heard from him for the past two weeks,” he replied, as he took hold of my hand.
My aunt and uncle had been getting help from my mom and dad with their own search team.
Not much was happening though, and I felt guilty for not doing anything, but my dad had forbidden me from using my abilities to try to find her. Even Armaros had taken my father’s side in this one.
It would be too dangerous not knowing how many of them there were, and their Alpha might not hurt Bella, but there was no way of telling what he would do if we just showed up.
It could possibly mean war between the tribe and the Green Oak Pack.
“Who are you, and why are you here?” I heard Charlie ask, as a group of men had shown up in front of the tribe house.
“We are here to speak to Clarissa and Ace Silva, it’s about their daughter,” one of them spoke up.
These men looked tough and brute. Even the way they were eyeing the women passing by, was just so creepy, and I felt my wolf wanting to rip their heads off for being so audacious.
But Armaros felt it and pulled me close to him.
“It’s okay, they won’t get very far if they were to try anything stupid,” Armaros whispered into my ear, as he continued to let his fingers nuzzle my back, until my wolf started to calm down.
Not long after, Ace and Clarissa came out, and so did my dad.
“Hello? I was told you have news about our daughter?” Ace spoke.
“Right, the Alpha of the Green Oak pack is requesting a get-together as his mate wishes to see her parents, who I presume are the two of you.” One with big broad shoulders, dark hair and a big beard stated.
“Yes, we are, is she okay?” Ace asked, which immediately made him narrow his eyes.
“Are you questioning our Alpha’s capability of tending to his mate’s needs?” The man growled. But before Ace was able to reply, my dad stepped in.
“I hope you aren’t showing up on our land just to create trouble?” My father spoke in an authoritarian tone. As all five of them looked at him.
“We only came here because our Luna wants to see her parents, so we are here at our Alpha’s request, but we won’t accept disrespect of our Alpha,” he spoke, like he was the one being wronged.
“I will see to that, but I do not want you to talk that way here, not to Bella’s father, who you so finely put it; is your pack’s Luna – or anyone else for that matter, do you understand?” he growled, as this guy clearly was fighting to keep his dignity intact, but shortly after he had to bow his head in submission to the strong aura my dad was imposing on to him, and the same did the four others.
“Fine, I’m sorry!” He hissed angrily, before my father released them.
“You can tell your Alpha that our doors are open for him and my niece,” my dad then spoke. The man didn’t say anything, but just proceeded to nod his head slightly, before they left.
“I hope these guys won’t be bad news,” my father grumbled as he turned to Drake.
“I want extra guards around when they choose to show up,” my dad ordered, while Drake nodded.
Then he eyed me and Armaros.
“I know you can watch out for yourself most of the time, but I’m not trusting these guys, so be sure to keep your distance, okay? My dad spoke, when he stepped over to us, and I nodded.
“You have met this pack before, haven’t you?” I asked my dad, as he gave a sigh and nodded.
“I have, they are a traveling pack, which means they never stay put in one place for very long.
If they catch the scent of a mate in another pack, they see no trouble in trespassing, as they see it as their right.
Your grandfather was faced with their former Alpha, when I was a kid, as they came to make a claim on the Beta’s daughter, who supposedly was his mate.
It was either hand the girl over or start a war between the packs. It’s the same I hear from other packs who have been in the same situation.
Women are merely seen as objects or property to them. For the first time, I actually fear what kind of man this Alpha is.
If he is anywhere near his father or how the rumors describe him, then I’m not sure what to do,” he replied, as he seemed at a loss.
I looked in the direction of my aunt Cassy, as my mother was comforting her.
They all seemed upset and no one had any idea how to handle it, and for the first time I actually doubted the mate bond.
It was all coded in us, that the mate bond was the most sacred thing. That we should honor it, or we would be doomed to a life of misery.
But for what price?
Bella was the most loyal person I knew, and she didn’t deserve someone like that.
[..]
When they arrived at the new camp, everyone had work to do, by sitting tents and preparing dinner.
Bella had experienced it twice before and knew what she should do. Liana was supposed to meet with Bella and help her like she always did. But for some reason, she didn’t show up, so Bella decided to look for her in her tent.
However, when Bella was standing outside Liana’s tent, she paused, as she heard a commotion coming from inside the tent. .
“Stand still,” she heard Harley growl lowly, as Bella glanced through the cover and saw Harley leaning Liana over the table, while pressing himself against her.
“I’m sorry,” she mumbled lowly, but she couldn’t stand by and watch it, so she walked in.
“What do you think you’re doing!?” She yelled as Harley turned his head in surprise, but when he realized it was her, he seemed rather annoyed, instead.
“You better leave, unless you wanna have a private show,” he scoffed.
“You can’t do this, this is wrong!” Bella continued.
“I’ll suggest you stay out of it, my Luna.” Harley warned her once again, and nothing seemed to get through to him, until she had one last idea.
“No, you should leave right now, Liana has a job to do; you are standing in her way,” Bella told him, even if it was mostly an excuse to get him away from her, she knew it was the only way.
“Fine, I’ll come back later,” Harley hissed as he walked out.
“Are you okay?” Bella asked, as she walked over to Liana, who was shaking.
“No, but you shouldn’t have interfered, it’s just getting worse if you do,” she spoke in a low voice.
“Should I have just let him r**e you?! Liana, it’s not right, surly your parents can’t be alright with this!” Bella defended, making Liana knit her eyebrows.
“My parents are dead, okay! And if letting Harley take what he wants, making me stay out of trouble, then so be it, but this way we end up with bigger problems,” Liana hissed, but then she tensed.
“I apologize, my Luna, I didn’t mean any disrespect. Was there anything you needed from me?” She spoke as she bowed her head deeply, but Bella was too shocked.
“No, I.. I will figure this out myself, I'll see you later,” Bella spoke, before she headed directly back to the tent she was sharing with Parker.
He was already there to place some things while his Beta Gayle and this other guy named Taylor were helping.
“Can I talk to you alone?” Bella asked, as all three of them looked at her.
“Sure. You two just go and finish up, and I will meet you outside when I’m done here,” Parker spoke, as both of them nodded and walked away.
When they were gone and what she believed to be out of hearing range, she spoke up.
“Harley is trying to take advantage of Liana,” Bella revealed, as Parker observed her for a moment.
“Okay? And what’s the problem?” He asked, as she looked at him, dumbfounded.
“Didn’t you hear what I just said?”
“Oh, I heard you just fine, but I want you to elaborate the problem,” he replied.
“She’s only 17, Parker, and he’s in his mid-thirties. Doesn’t he already have a mate?” Bella defended.
“He does, but she hasn’t, and if his mate isn’t keeping him satisfied, who am I to tell him that he can’t have someone else to maintain that need?” He replied carelessly.
“You can’t be serious, she is just a young girl!” Bella spoke.
“As long as she has gone through her first shift, I can’t see the problem.” He added, as he continued to pack stuff out.
“Do you really think it’s alright to r**e a 13-year-old?” Bella spat angrily, making him turn around and walk up to her.
“I understand you were taught under other circumstances, but let me make one thing clear.
Here, things work differently, and I need you to understand that. We don’t touch another man’s mate, but an unmated girl is free to take, ‘cause she is unclaimed.
Why else do you think I wasn’t mad that you had been with another man before me?” He asked, making Bella turn silent.
“What? You think I didn’t know you had screwed that demon? I’m not stupid, Bella,” he spoke, as he took a hold on the back of her neck and pulled her closer.
“But the moment I mark you, any man there dares put their filthy paws on you, is as good as dead,” he stated in a dark voice, while his eyes shifted.
Bella felt her heartbeat rise, as Parker grabbed on to her hair and pulled her backwards until he suddenly pushed her down on the bed, and tore her shirt up, making her give a small scream.
“If that servant girl piqued his interest, it’s either a mate problem or she owes him for something. Does he know something I don’t?” He asked her in a daring tone.
“N-no,” Bella whispered, as his hand moved over her breast, and a small whimper left her lips as he squeezed them roughly.
“You are a terrible liar, but I’m not gonna worry about that anymore, ’cause from now on. Every time you lie, I’ll just use my Alpha voice to make you tell me the truth, but first I think it’s time I mark you,” he growled.
“No, please Parker, not like this!” Bella blurred out in panic, as she fought to get free, but it didn’t work.
“You’ve already given me permission to do it the way I want, though it’s quite unfortunate, that I have to go to this length to have you submit completely,” he stated angrily.
He once again grabbed a chunk of her hair and förced her to bare her neck for him, before he burried his canines in her neck, making her scream out in pain.
She might have agreed to it, but it still ended up being the most excruciating experience in her life, ‘cause he had done nothing to make her accept it, and she knew that was why he did it.
He did it to punish her. Because once again she managed to provoke him, to act out in a way he didn’t find proper.
Bella felt, with certainty, utter hate against the person she had dreamed of meeting since she was a little girl – her mate!
“You can hate me all you want, but it doesn’t change the fact that you belong to me now, body and soul,” he stated, as he grabbed around her cheeks with his hand.
She stared at him with pure disgust, while tears were running down her face and she was covering the open wound on her neck with her hand.
“You’re a shameless man..” Bella started, but then she felt like all the air was sucked out of her and a different kind of pain spread through her body.
It made her want to curl into a ball on the bed in pain, but Parker wasn’t letting go of her.
“This is your last warning, Bella, this pain is nothing compared to what I could make you feel, I don’t wanna do this, but you keep förcing me to do things I don’t wanna do.” He continued as his voice went from an angry growl, to a slight scolding tone.
“With time you will learn to understand that all of this is for you,” he spoke, as Bella was shaking and crying when he finally withdrew his aura.
She had no more strength to fight him, so when he began to remove his clothes, she just closed her eyes and thought of something else, while he took away the last part of her dignity and free will she had left.
