Wow a talking lizard…….it’s a talking lizard. It’s so cute, not that anybody will ever hear me say that. But it’s cuteness aside, obviously this was the culprit responsible for stealing from the storage shed. And as intelligent as it looked, it didn’t really seem all that willing to be remorseful about it’s crimes.
“You know it’s a terrible thing to steal right, it’s not nice.” I said to the green scaled lizard as I walked towards him. In return he pushed his chest outwards as he replied.
“Well what’s it to you, I’m not stealing from you.”
I opened my mouth to retort, but in the end I closed it right back. The little lizard was right, he was stealing from the Kiryū clan, but when you think about it, I’m already a part of this clan, so in retrospect he was also stealing from me.
“Well actually you really are stealing from me, my name is Christopher Kiryū, and honestly it’s really a bad thing to steal, and I would rather not want to report a cute lizard like you, so please don’t steal anymore. I get that you’re hungry, so why don’t I give you my rations instead, it should be enough, because i don’t think the clan heads would be very happy with you stealing.”
This was getting ridiculous, why the hell was I talking to this lizard like this? Maybe it was because it’s child-like voice caught me off guard, but never the less this lizard was a target, a monster that had to be taken care off. But hearing it’s voice and seeing such a small form had sort of dragged out my paternal instincts. I’m about to become a father, and I seem to be seeing my unborn child in every innocent and cute thing that comes way.
“Do you think I’m a child, seriously! It’s because I’m sealed in this accursed form that I sound like this, and that’s also the reason why I have to steal food too. I used to have an all you can eat buffet of humans, young men like you always tasted divine. But you can’t stop me, I’m hungry you puny Ningen. I’ve got no choice.”
Almost immediately, Arashi showed up, bringing our conversation to an abrupt end. I was so shocked I had fallen back on my ass, it was almost as if the vice head just suddenly showed up behind me. The lizard with green scales suddenly became very meek and hid behind my legs, obviously it was quite wary of Arashi's power.
“Recruit Christopher! Is this dragon the culprit? The vagrant responsible for stealing our precious resources?” I was about to answer when my eyes caught that of the dragon, it was looking really innocent and I didn’t want to get it in trouble, however Arashi needed to know who was responsible for the theft, or there would be more recruits sent here to catch an elusive lizard…..dragon? that’s sure to have more secrets up it’s sleeves.
I looked at it and I did not just see an innocent child, I also saw a conniving little lizard…..errr dragon? I mean come on, obviously he’s a dragon, he’s going to play tricks right. I might be a little gullible, but that doesn’t mean I’m stupid. But none the less I’ve been true to myself so far, there’s no need to stop now.
"Vice head you would be correct in your assumption that this lizard is responsible, but please if I might add. He’s young and he’s hungry, there’s no harm done if he takes a few bites, and if there’s a cost to be paid, I will gladly to work it off. Please just let him off with a warning.” I said to Arashi with a smile on my face. But the lizard had an entirely different opinion.
“Are you a retard or something? How can you stick your neck out for a person you just met, a guilty person! Not to mention I’m not a f*****g lizard! I’m a dragon! You pathetic halfwit!”
“He’s right you know, I’m sure you’re like this because you don’t know who or why he is. This nasty Liz…..(cough) dragon is the Storm Kiryū, the demon dragon who had single handedly caused havoc and destruction on the Shōkan Circle 15 years ago. Of the people who were lost in that battle, the Kiryū clan took the full brunt of the attack as the bloody beast is the guardian of our clan. our leader Theo was lost with no news of his whereabouts till date, and clan head Kemisola has been in a coma ever since.
The Kiryū clan where the only one’s capable of sealing his abilities until a proper Bond warrior has been found. This thing is a monster and not worthy of your pity, don’t be swayed by it’s look of innocence.”
It only took a moment for my mind to register the two names that had been called, and the moment I did I felt a chill run through my body.
Those names belonged to my parents, and the fact that they belonged to my parents could not be any mere coincidence, not when they’re beta testers of this game, and there’s a Clan with our proposed Japanese family name. I finally found a lead, and my mother was really close to me.
“Can I see her? Your clan head, this Kemisola that you mentioned.” I asked Arashi with a rather frantic look on my face.
“I’m afraid you’re not high leveled enough within the clan to be granted such a privilege. Even then you have to be strong enough. But that’s not the case here, the question right now is, what would you do, now that you know what a monster this dragon is. How would you judge him.”
This whole thing just got personal real fast, for my parents this was more than just a game, it was their lives, and if they were in danger or died in here, then they died for real, they were gone completely. So the fact that my father might be dead, and this dragon might be responsible was very clear to me, however when I looked at him all I saw myself just before I met Diamante. Abject loneliness, no one to trust and no one to love. He was all alone.
“What’s in the past is in the past, rather I think we should give him a chance to make amends for his mistakes. Everyone deserves a second chance.” I said to Arashi who looked at me with raised eyebrows. Then he asked.
“Recruit Christopher, have you heard about the ninja class called Akuma no Shinobi?”
“errr?? Akuma no what??”
