The Gyro sphere could sustain life for as long as two months, which made it quite an attraction to hardcore gamers. But I had a family, unlike most gamers who would prefer to escape from the real world, I had a reason to come out every time. And apart from my loving wife and unborn child, I had to do a little digging about the game and what has been discovered so far. Thankfully I had a wife with a masters in computer engineering and media marketing, she had all the answers ready for me by the time I got out of the game. The first thing I did was take a shower, have a meal and give Diamante a kiss goodnight seeing as I logged out right in the middle of the night. Then I went back to the game room, and logged back in, making sure to upload the data file containing all of the information she had compiled. First things first, Ninjutsu online had a time dilation effect of 1 to 6,the highest in history so far and quite a major cause for alarm amongst the circles of neurologist and neural engineers. An hour in the real world was equivalent to six within the game, meaning a day out here was six within it. The world at the moment was a little aghast since the company responsible for the game, Royal Reign industries and it’s creator Anton Sugarashi had taken a bold step in trying to push the limits of what the human mind could handle. So far there has not been any sort of side effects, but it was much too early for anyone to jump to conclusions. Next was the layout of the game itself, and based on reports, it was freaking awesome. It was only the Kiryū clan that seemed to have rather weird rules in place, but the rest of the clans in Shōkan Toshi and the other Factions had given their recruits a starter pack with combat ready and applicable skills, and then sent them to their city academies where they would be placed in three man teams and given missions from slaying monsters, to bounty hunting. Some of the techniques mentioned were so amazing, that they all made me green with envy, while the others were busy getting to the top and becoming powerful, I was stuck as a guard and without a class for that matter, or any sort of information about where my parents were. I was beginning to get anxious. Classes are available to the players once they get to level 5, and the classes are quite varied, but completely dependent on your stats. People who focused more on the physical stats became taijutsu specialist, while those who focused on the spirit stats became Ninjutsu specialists, and the mind stats became the genjutsu specialists. The good thing about all this was that regardless of what stats you chose to major in, you could still use techniques from other classes, as long ad you met the requirements. Of course the techniques won’t be as powerful in your hands, as opposed to when its in the hands of it’s own specialist. There were more classes, but information about them have not been found yet, so everything was just based on speculation. Finally, apart from gaining prestige within your individual clans, it was also possible to get it from the village, going up in ranks depending on how powerful you become and how many missions you’ve completed for the village. So far there was only information about the first rank bracket, which was Low Grey Ninja, Mid Grey Ninja and then High Grey Ninja. Information about what comes next is really sparse, but apparently you have to be level 20 to find that out. The next thing to check was the techniques themselves, with the most common skills being the (Transformation), (Switch), and the (Clone) skill. Most of the hardcore gamers had advice that the players should ignore it, citing that these low level skills really couldn’t be applicable to your battle power in the long run, however some believed that if you maxed out the skills, it was possible to evolve them to a higher grade. But that was even more speculative, since the strength and usefulness of those skills were not really applicable in direct conflict, which seems to be the theme of this game, rather than men and women dressed in black with a hood on their head, killing people in one strike. Anyway the skills themselves are capable of leveling up depending on how much you use it, even when you train them. Of course there’s always the shortcut of increasing their levels by using the jutsu points they gain from every level up. However there was a rumor going around that there were some skills that required jutsu points to learn, and that it was very possible that in other to evolve some of the skills, it was imperative that some Jutsu points were used. However this particular stream of information disappeared just as soon as it appeared, so not many people were able to get ahold of it. However Diamante was not you’re average tech wiz, there’s a reason we both run a mechanic shop together. With that all out of the way I logged back in, right where I had logged out. And that was right in front of the storage room that had been stolen from. I have no idea how long I would have to stand guard and wait for whoever, or whatever stole those goods, but I knew that I had to make great use of my time, and there was no other way than to train my skills. But none the less, this was going to be a long night, or rather a very long few days. 63 HOURS LATER {Your Switch jutsu has reached level 4, range has increased by 2 meters} {Your Camouflage seal has reached level 6, duration increased by 200 seconds.} Spending this three days to get conversant with both my jutsus had been an eye opener. Even though the entire process had been repetitive and somewhat dull, I got to understand the full capabilities of both skills, and realized their effects in combat. At level one the switch skill was able to switch me with any inanimate object within a three meter radius, that wasn’t a lot of distance, but every level it gained, the distance increased by an extra two meters. Now I could switch with anything, from stones to even dirt within a nine meter radius. It seemed like an evasive technique, or rather an escaping technique. It’s deployment was instant, and the energy expenditure wasn’t really that much. Though there’s no way to tabulate health or energy within this game, I knew I could use the switch technique at most 8 times before I run out of energy. Practicing around the storage shed helped me, since it was quite isolated and out of the way, the technique itself worked like some sort of teleportation skill, but it had restrictions. For example you couldn’t change positions with anything heavier than a log of wood ten inches long and about 6 wide. You also had to have a clear view of what you wanted to switch with, making this a good skill to use in the wild or outside. But if you’re fighting in a place like an empty room, or a room filled with things above the weight specification of the skill, then you were f****d. But I’m sure I can make it work. The (Camouflage) Seal was amazing. Unlike the (Switch) technique which was a Ninjutsu skill that relied on hand signs and instant cast, the camouflage jutsu was a seal, which meant it was created using your energy as ink, and placed over any surface to act and affect things independently. At level one I could place the camouflage on any object for fifty seconds and make that object blend with it’s surroundings. At level two I could do it for one hundred and fifty seconds, at level three I could hide something for 300 seconds, and now at level four with a 200 second increase, I could blend things for five hundred seconds. Of course the range was limited, but I could hide a three meter door and make it look like a part of the wall. Which was what I did with the doors to the storage shed, and just in time too as a loud scratch drew my attention away from my system notification to the doors that had been hidden by the (Camouflage) seal. Standing there in all his glory was a large green lizard with two horns and scale like feathers. It’s color was a dark green and it’s belly from it’s jaw to its tail was silvery white. And then stripes of black running through it’s scales, and then it looked at me, it’s eyes glinting as it called out in the cutest voice imaginable. “Hey Ningen! Did you place a camouflage seal on the doors to my buffet lounge. First of all, your seal is low leveled and crappy that I could see through it immediately, and secondly…….how dare you!”
