Hidden Class Quest!

That was a weird turn of events, and it really left me a bit flustered and surprised, was it that easy to gain a legendary hidden class. I knew this game thrived on achievement, but this was not simple achievement, this was chance and luck. Based on the literal meaning of the words Akuma no Shinobi, I don’t think the class would be all rainbows and sunshine, I mean it’s a class with the literal meaning being (Demon Ninja). It made me a little apprehensive, and even worse was the fact that the Quest was accepted for me.

“Because you will need to grow stronger, you don’t need to complete any other tasks for the clan. So your first clan quest can be considered complete, you can head to the tree to get your rewards. However you’re not allowed to leave the clan grounds until you’re level 5, so you will have to hunt for monsters in our part of the forbidden forest. It should give ample combat training and mastery over any new skill you might have. Speaking of which, I have a little mission for you.”

The servants had somehow found out that the clan was on to them and escaped into the forbidden forest, making camp in a clearing half a day away. Find them and eliminate them all, bring back their heads as proof, any loot gained from them can either be turned over to the tree for rewards, or kept to yourself.| Duration: 7 Days| Rewards: +2 to all stats, +100 clan contribution points, Recommendation letter to the Ninja Academy Of Shōkan Toshi.]

Well isn’t that lovely. There was not much information given about the class or even the level of the servants I had to hunt down, but I think the reason why I was given seven days, was so that I could train myself up. However with how this game has been so far, I don’t think those guys would fold their legs and be waiting for me to come catch them, so I think the time I have was actually shorter than what I was given.

There was an obvious change in ability for me, I could feel myself get stronger, my mind sharper and I could feel something like the air on my skin, though it couldn’t exactly be described as air. It was a comfortable feeling, and I could also feel it from within me. This energy seems to be circulating in and out of my body along with my breath, this was probably chakra, the energy required for all techniques and attacks.

“I’ll keep the demon dragon imprisoned until you get back, if you die I’m going to kill him. Anyway before you head off on your mission, I advice you to use your contribution points to get yourself some armor and a weapon from the tree, also it would be smart if you bought a Taijutsu technique, close combat is a must to have, and you should be able to learn how to fight with your body should the situation call for it.

Also I advice you not to buy any more skills, whatever you get from the tree, I believe it would be smart for you to learn and master them first, because mastered techniques are without a doubt requirement to learn their advanced or evolved form. Now run along, as soon as you’re done with your preparations you can leave. I wish you good luck young clansman.”

Arashi wasn’t really one to talk much, but he seems really kind, and this was the first time he actually gave me advice. Before he left, he grabbed the protesting demon dragon, stuffed it inside a bag, and then flickered away, in very much the same manner in which he appeared. Whatever that skill was, I hope I get to learn it soon enough.

I ran all the way back to the Kiryū tree, but when I got there I met someone. It was the girl who had given me food the last time, I remember I had no even said thank you, much less introduced myself. That was bad manners on my part, but I couldn’t really be blamed, I wasn’t playing this game because I wanted to socialize with people.

“Hi! I’m sorry I had to impose on you last time, but thank you so much for the food. I’ll repay you back for it someday. My name is Christopher-what’s yours?” I asked her with a soft smile.

“Oh, it’s alright you don’t have to apologize, for some this is more than a game. It wasn’t right for me to look down on your efforts like that. Anyway, my name is Kimiko, I don’t have a class yet, but I’m on a mission to get one.”

“oh really! That’s nice. I’ve not been given a class yet, or a mission to get one, but I’ve been asked to go find some herbs in the forest. I came here for some preparations.” I said to her with the fakes smile I could muster.

“Well I’m already done with mine, so let’s catch up later. Bye.”

I gave her a nod as she walked past me. Maybe I shouldn’t have lied, but she was much too willing to give out information about herself, and no gamer does that. In every game that I’ve played, it’s common knowledge that the more secrets you have, the greater the edge you have over others, and since the virtual realm was a place that more than half of humanity now lived, secrets were a power that couldn’t be underestimated. My grandfather taught me that.

After making sure that there was no one else around to watch me, I placed my hand on the tree, ready to collect my rewards.

As soon as the scrolls fell into my hands, I let the tree know my intentions of buying a taijutsu technique, and an armor, weapons and supplies needed for a mission. The tree didn’t even reply before it unceremoniously took every last contribution points I had and threw a storage scroll in my face. I was confused by such behavior, or rather by the fact that a tree would even have a behavior. Maybe it was faulty.

Either way I didn’t feel too comfortable standing out here and finding out what I had gained, but I quickly checked the taijutsu skill that was given to me, and learned it with the rest of the techniques. Then I turned around and left, going to look for a secluded place where I could complete my preparations. I guess the game truly begins for me now.
