In that moment, I had absolutely no idea what I was supposed to say, or do, or what was supposed to happen from here on out, for the matter. But one thing that I was aware of, was the fact that he was watching me just as closely as I was watching him. I may not have been able to see his eyes, but the fact was quite obvious, as obvious as the light of day, as the setting sun, as the rising moon. It was something that was simply supposed to happen and that was the end of it. “Aren’t you going to say anything?” Even though the expression on his face didn’t change—not that it had changed once during this entire ordeal—I knew that he was mocking me. It was something about the tone of his voice, something about the tilt of his head. Small tell-tales that told me everything th
