Bodyguard

1025 Words
Yuri – POV Opal delivered a stern lecture to Drake, criticizing him for his insensitivity. I couldn't help but chuckle as I observed Drake sitting patiently, enduring all the drama. He clearly didn't want to provoke Opal; after all, having a witch around could be quite useful in times of need. Otherwise, I was certain Drake would have swiftly expelled Opal from his Manor, uninterested in enduring her lectures. "You know what? I'm staying here," Opal declared defiantly. Drake shot her a glare. "No," he retorted. "This is exclusively Dragon territory; no witch is allowed to stay here." Despite his firm stance, the tension in the room hinted at a looming clash of wills between the dragon and the witch. "Do you want my help or not?" Opal raised her eyebrows. "You can threaten with that; I can find the best Witch, Emily, who can help if you don't," Drake warned Opal, referencing Witch Emily, Alpha Silas's mother, a seasoned witch with more experience than Opal. "You know what, Drake? Let her stay," I interjected. Drake shot me a stern glare. "You have no say in this at all," he warned me as well. I understood; he was the King, and I had to obey. It was frustrating – my former enemy, a werewolf, now learning I was a dragon. It felt like my life had been turned upside down. "I am staying; do whatever you want to," Opal declared and headed towards a guest room. Drake cursed under his breath. "Now that the drama is over, I am going home," I announced. "Stay here. I can't tolerate a witch staying with me under one roof. Be my bodyguard," Drake insisted, his eyes gleaming with a desire for revenge, remembering the names and mockery I had hurled at him and supporting Opal to stay. "I will not obey," I wanted to yell at him, but I refrained. If he thought I would give up easily, he was wrong. I smiled sweetly at him, catching him off guard. "I will do as you say," I added, determined to turn the tables and make his life just as challenging. "Are you sure you're alright?" Drake inquired. "You didn't scream at me, throw taunts, or try to kick my ass," he observed. "Well, you are my King, Drake. Your majesty, I can't be rude to you, can I?" I replied with a sweet smile. Drake cringed at the sarcasm, but a smirk formed on his face as I walked towards the guest room I had been assigned. I noticed a text from Mac on my screen. "I'm sorry; I can't fulfill your promise of being the Beta of the Pack." I blinked, surprised by the unexpected message. "Huh, what do you mean?" I texted. "Long story short. I'm an orphan, adopted by my adoptive parents. Turns out, in a test, I am the Alpha of Night Pack," Mac replied. "What the f**k," I screamed in disbelief. "So, you're going to Night Pack to find out about your parents, then?" I texted. "Yeah. I've reached and am still in disguise, staying in Night Pack. This pack is really chaotic," Mac shared. I received a picture of the pack members being mistreated if they didn't follow the rules of Alpha Kevin of the Night Pack. I felt a wave of pity for them. "What about the Beta, Ted?" I asked. "That bastard is trying to recreate the ruined lab and has made sure to tighten the security, not making it easy for anyone from the outside to step into the pack," Mac explained. "How did you manage to get into the pack?" I inquired. "With my newfound power, I could mingle with others, giving the impression that I belong to Night Pack," Mac texted. "Please take care, will you? Text me often. I'll call you too," I expressed concern. "I will be fine," Mac assured. "How are you faring in the new place?" "Well, I'm doing good. I miss the pack, and the dragon environment is quite different," I replied. "Is Drake not being a pain in the ass?" Mac asked. "He is a pain in the ass, alright. Don't even start with the name and piss me off," I grumbled. Mac responded with a laughing emoji, and I shot him a glaring look. "I will come to meet you soon," Mac texted, accompanied by a picture. I gasped; he looked drastically different, his body now resembling that of an Alpha. His well-built physique was evident through the tight t-shirt, and his sharp jawline enhanced his handsome features. He looked like a god, a Hercules, in human form. "Why are you sending me a picture?" I asked. "To make you remember that I look different now, so you don't whack me, thinking I'm someone disguised as Mac," he explained with a smile emoji. I couldn't help but smile; he sent it to show the transformation and, perhaps, to seduce me with the attractive image subtly. I groaned and decided not to reply, feeling a mix of emotions. I stepped out to grab a bite, and in the hallway, I encountered Opal, who shot me a cold look. Unfazed, I continued into the kitchen, inspecting the fridge's contents. I decided to beat eggs and make scrambled eggs. "It smells delicious," Drake commented, but his expression shifted when he noticed Opal sitting on the couch, glaring at me and then at him. "You don't have to make yourself look like a horror doll staring in anger," Drake said to Opal as he joined me in the kitchen. Opal rolled her eyes at his remark. Despite the heated atmosphere, I masked my emotions and continued preparing the scrambled eggs. I took a bite, and Drake unexpectedly took the plate from my hands. "Thank you, bodyguard, for cooking for me," Drake said with a smile, causing the heated feeling to turn into anger. That's why I hated Drake for being an asshole. "Jerk," I hissed Drake, smirking at my frustration. I prepared another batch. Opal sat upright, and this time, her eyes took on a distant look, followed by a magical flare surrounding her.
