I thought he was joking but he wasn't laughing. He kept a straight face after saying those words.

" What ?!"

He raised a brow " Do you want me to repeat myself ?"

" I..I. I

" Look if you want to save your brother then you have to choose. Remember I told you he won't be set free until he is being taught a lesson " he said seriously and I was getting angry with him already.

" We don't have that huge amount you requested. I don't even have that amount in my savings. " I tried to make him understand but he was not ready to listen to me.

" Then you decided. Pay the $50000 or marry me " he repeated those words.

Marry him? Why would I marry him just like that? I'm sure he has a motive for suggesting that.

" Why would you want to marry a stranger ?" I felt the need to ask. Of course, any girl will jump on the offer but that girl isn't me. I don't know what this is all about. I have a career I need to pursue and not waste all my hard work.

" You witness how my dad interacts with you and I'm sure he won't rest until he sees that I get married. I'm sure he found a liking for you which is a good thing actually " he said " This won't be a real wedding trust me. It will be a contract wedding and then I'll decide when you'll get to leave my life for good "

" Don't you think you are making a wrong decision? I'm not from a rich family. This will not work. Please suggest another thing and don't let my brother rot in jail. He has school and an exam coming "

" Then he should have thought about that before he ran into my car. A responsible student should be in school when it's dark so what is he doing partying in the night " Alexander asked like he was any better

I need to calm my nerves if not I won't achieve what I came here to achieve. I got to my feet and took in a deep breath " What are the things I need to take into notice in this contract of yours?" I asked. My mind is made up already. Since it'll be a Contract marriage then I'll go for it.

He grinned widely " Now you are talking. All you have to do is write down your address, email, and contact. The contract will be sent to you later in the day. I'll have to ask my lawyer to prepare it "

I let out a sigh " Will my brother be free now ?"

He smirked " He will be free after you sign the contract "

"Just give it to me already let get it over and done with " I stated

" Relax kitty cat. You have all the time in the world to go through the contract. " He joked and I glared at him " But my brother is still in jail and that is what worries me "

Alexander went over to his desk. He picked up a plain paper with a pen then he stride to me and gave me the paper and pen ." Write down all that I request for and I promise to release your brother today after you sign the contract. The court is in your hands now. The earlier you comply the earlier you'll have your brother released from jail "

I rolled my eyes but took the paper from him. I went to his desk and placed the paper on it. I wrote down all that he needed and then gave it to him " Here it is. I'll be waiting for your message " I said and he nodded

" Sure kitty cat," he said with a grin

I rolled my eyes at him " Don't call me that. I'm Lisa so stop calling me a kitty cat "

He smirked " But you sound like one. Where have you been all these while? You truly are the best fit for this contract. I've been looking for a suitable bride and here she came to me by herself, relieving me of the stress "

I folded my arms over my chest " Just make sure you hurry with the contract so I can get my brother out of jail please "

He c****d brows " Sure"

I exhaled "OK thanks. I'll be leaving now "

He nodded and I made my way to the door and went out. I hope I'm not about to make a wrong decision. What if he states in the contract that I have to serve him until he is tired of me? Goodness! Why didn't I think of that? I feel so stupid agreeing to this without giving it much thought.

Ethan is the cause of this. He is the cause of this nonsense. He better be prepared cos I won't hesitate to punch him in the face for making me go through this stress.

I got into the elevator and pressed the number leading to the ground floor. It didn't take long before I got out. I met the receptionist but she pretended to not see me. She avoided my gaze and I shook my head at her. A smile broke my face. I'm sure she must have told the rest that I was their boss's girlfriend cos they kept staring at me. Even though it's all a lie, I kind of enjoy the feel of that fact for a moment.

At least I get to leave the company with my head up high. I waited for Uber. He told me to wait a few more minutes which I did.

He came exactly the time he told me and I got inside. I told him the address to my next destination. I need to see Ethan. He needs to be taught a lesson. He can't always go and look for trouble and at the end of the day beg me to clean his mess. It's so irritating at this point.

I don't want to be the worst sister ever so I do all that he asked me to do and I do that not because I'm stupid but because I have my reason. We both have each other to hold on to with no support. I can't bear with him at this point. He needs to stop this nonsense of his already.

I didn't know when we got to the station until the cab man notified me. I thanked him and paid for his service. I got out of the car and made my way to the station.

I got inside and noticed the station was crowded. They must have captured lots of offenders. I never expect to be in a place like this but Ethan will always pull a surprise on me. That boy will be the death of me.

I walked to the man at the front desk and said to him " Hello " I greeted

He raised his head " How may I help you miss ?"

I smiled a little, feeling awkward. I don't know how things are done at the station cos I've never been to one before " My brother is being locked up here. I came to check on him"

He nodded " Okay? What is his name ?"

" Ethan Williams," I said to him and he nodded as he went through the names. I waited patiently for him to give me feedback.

" Oh yeah, he is the guy that ran over another car yesterday " He stated like I didn't know already.

" Yeah, please can I speak with him ?" I asked hopefully

"I'm sorry ma'am but we are not allowed to let him receive visitors," he said

" Please don't do this to me. He is my only brother " I said desperately " I need to see him. I beg of you. Please "

He seemed to think about it for a second then he said " Ok, but you need to be fast. I don't want my boss to find out I let you see him. I might lose my job"

I was so happy that he agreed to let me see Ethan. Even though it's at the expense of his job.

" Thank you so much. You don't know how much this means to me. Thanks a lot "

He nodded " Please follow me "

I did as I was told. I followed him to the cell. The officer turned to tell me to have a seat while he went into the main cell to bring my brother. I thanked him gratefully.

I waited a few seconds and Ethan was brought to me. When he saw me his face lightened up " Lisa !"

He ran to hug me but I had to stop him before he could dare " Don't even think of touching me !"

He paused " It's me, Lisa "

" Don't even dare say a word. Did you know what you put me through ?" I had to ask him cos I won't let this pass.

He rubbed his neck guiltily " I'm sorry "

" For your information, he didn't agree to let you go. Mr Alexander wants to send you to jail " I said out of the blue. Ethan wasn't expecting that. I saw fear in his and I was satisfied.

" No! I can't go to jail. You have to help me, Lisa, please. I'll do anything you ask me to do from now on for you help me " he pleaded desperately and I felt so satisfied. Now he got to have a taste of his medicine.

" Ok fine, I'll help you but on one condition," I said and he was ready to do anything I asked him to.

" What is it? Just say it and it's done "

" From now on, you will have to stay with our uncle and I don't want no for an answer "

" What? But... but you know I can't " he cried out

" It's either that or rot in jail "

Ethan stared at me and he knew I was serious "OK fine . But you know Uncle Ken hates me . That man hates my gut" he emphasized the hate part.

" That's because you caused it. You brought it upon yourself "

He pouted " But this is so unfair "

" That is the only way I can help you," I said as a matter of fact.

"OK fine "

" Good " I grinned excitedly

He would be surprised when he finds out how I plan on helping him. God save my soul, I hope I'm not about to sell my soul to the devil.

After the conversation I had with Ethan, I went back home. I collapsed on the couch and took in a deep breath "What a long day "

My phone vibrated in my pocket. I had forgotten to remove it from vibration. I saw a strange number calling. I hesitated at first but picked it anyway.

" Hello?"

" Hello, Kitty cat "

My phone almost fell off my hands at the sound of the voice. No freaking way!
