CHAPTER 2

Eleanor POV “Hey, are you ready yet? It’s almost nine-thirty.” Everett said from behind the door. I rolled back my eyes and checked my appearance in the mirror. I wore a spaghetti strap red satin dress. Still modest enough and not showing too much cleavage. I am not a prostitute. I don’t want to wear revealing clothes. Only God knows what will happen tonight. I hoped he wouldn’t force me to have s*x with him because I was still a virgin. I am not a one-night stand kind of girl. I want my first to be perfect and with the man that I loved. Everett knocked again, this time sounded a bit impatient. I sighed deeply and took a coat to cover up later. I opened the door before he could knock again. “Will it kill you to wait for another five minutes?” I said sarcastically at him. He shot an eyebrow at me, but then his expression changed. “Wow, you look… great!” He cleared his throat and eyed me from top to bottom. I shrugged at him. “I guessed this will do,” I replied and then walked before him towards the garage. I could feel his eyes on my butt, checking me out. This is not the first time Everett stared at me with lustful eyes. We both grew up together, and he was a kind brother until we both hit puberty. He started to show his interest in dating me. I even had to lock my room every night because he once broke in when I was asleep. What a creep. Everett opened the car door for me, pretended to be a gentleman, but I didn’t say anything. “Hey, don’t sulk! At least you could help the company by banging an old man.” He said after we drove away. I whisked my head towards him in shock. “What did you say? I have to sleep with him? Are you trying to fool me right now? Dad didn’t say anything about this.” I said in shock. The dumbass suddenly burst out laughing. “You seriously think that this is all pure business?” “Stop this car right now!?” I said to him sternly, but he still kept on driving as if he had a hearing problem. “Dad specifically assigned me to deliver you to that man.” He said, shaking his head. “I said stop this car!?” I repeated myself. “Sis, please don’t make this even harder for me, okay? It’s your fault for rejecting me many times. Now you have to deal with this old man.” He said, teasing me. I stopped at what he had just said. “Old? How old is he?” I couldn’t help but ask. “I think he was almost at the same age as dad.” Everett said, and I felt disgusted. How could he do this to me? What kind of father offers his daughter in exchange for his business deal? “Stop this car, or I’ll jump right now.” I said, threatening him. My hand was already on the handle of the door. “Wait, are you crazy?” he pulled over and then sighed defeatedly at me. “I know you would do this.” He said, and then before I knew it, he suddenly hit the back of my head until it was all black for me. ****************** Luciano POV I heard the doorbell ring and frowned. I am not expecting anyone. The main reason I’m here is to seclude myself. This hotel is owned by my family. I used to stay here every time I didn’t want to deal with the mafia thing. It could be a little tiresome sometimes. Despite being annoyed, I still got the door. I was confused because the moment I opened the door I didn’t see anyone. Could it be that someone is trying to prank me? I looked to the left and was startled by a woman passing out next to my door. I kneeled in front of her and pushed the hair that fell on her face. What is she doing sitting there in the alley? I sniffed, and I couldn’t smell any alcohol on her. All I get is the scent of her sweet perfume. “Hey, can you hear me?” I nudged her softly, but she didn’t budge an inch. “Hey—” I tried for the second time, but she didn’t respond. I gave up already. I brought her into my room, carrying her bridal style, because I couldn’t possibly leave her there. I carefully put her in the bed and stared at her face for I don’t know how long. My hand moved on its own towards her face. Her skin felt so soft I didn’t realize that I was holding my breath until her eyes fluttered open, and she looked back at me. “Aaahhh!? What are you doing??” She screamed and covered herself with the blanket. She looked adorable now that she had sobered. “I think I am the one who should be asking you. What are you doing in front of my room?” I asked her back. She frowned at me, and after a few seconds, it seemed like she remembered something. “A-are you Mr. Castro?” she asked nervously. “Um…Yes, how did you know?” I asked her back. “I am Eleanor Wright from The W. My father sent me here to discuss business with you.” She explained, and I didn’t have any idea what the hell is she talking about. Hmmm. Eleanor. Nice name. What kind of company sending a beautiful woman like her to discuss business in a hotel room? She was lucky that she saw me tonight. What if another man takes advantage of her? Shit. Why do I have to be concerned about her safety now? I think it would be fun to play along with her for a while and discuss ‘business’ together. “Okay, I am listening,” I said, giving her a chance to speak. I walked towards the small desk and poured myself some whiskey. “M-my father had told me about the funding agreement that your company is willing to make.” It’s cute to see her try keeping the formal tone with me. “Did you aware of this matter?” she asked me back, waiting for my reply. I took a big gulp of the alcohol and then answered. “Of course. Don’t worry, it’s already been taken care of.” I lied to her. I assume this must be dad’s doing. Her expression changed to a relieved one. “That’s it? You just give us your money without hoping for anything in return?” She asked me back, a bit confused. I took slow steps toward the bed while keeping eye contact with her. I crawled on the bed and stopped when our faces were merely a few inches apart. Taking a strand of her loose hair between my fingers, I tease her by asking her back. “Why? Is there something you could offer to me in return?” Her eyes widened, and she was swallowing hard.
