Eleanor POV
My brain stopped working the moment he invaded my personal space. What the hell is he doing?
Is he the man I was supposed to meet tonight?
He didn’t look like he was the same age as my dad. But then again, plastic surgery is pretty popular nowadays. Maybe he looked young because he had money.
I laughed nervously at him. “I had no idea what you were talking about,” I replied.
He smirked at me as if he could read my mind. “So you’re going to play dumb with me now? What are you doing coming this late at night to this hotel wearing that dress if it wasn’t for s*x?”
I found myself speechless again. He got a point, though.
I pushed him back and then quickly jumped off the bed. “Stop it! This deal is off! I can’t do this. I’d rather be kicked out by dad than give my virginity to a stranger.” I clamp my mouth with both hands. Why on earth am I telling him that I was a virgin? That’s just too much information to spill.
He was messing with my head, and I didn’t like it. I had to walk away.
I almost reached the door, but then I felt him stopping me by my elbow.
“Wait—” He said. His deep voice sent shivers down my spine. It might be the first for me to admit, but it was damn sexy.
“No, Mr. Castro… I am not here to sell myself to you! You must be mistaken. I am not that kind of woman.” I said, swatting his hand away.
He was clearly taken aback by my rejection, but he did nothing after that to stop me.
I closed the door, banging it loud in front of his face. Take that, ha!
I walked away, but then after I got into the elevator, I suddenly remembered that I had forgotten my purse. s**t.
I was weighing my option on whether I should get back to his room or not. I sighed out loud in frustration and pressed the button to the top floor.
I had all my important stuff inside my clutch. I’ll just get my things and leave without saying a word to him.
I placed my hand over my chest, and I could still feel my heart beating so loudly against my ribcage.
I heard a small ping sound, and then the elevator door went open. I was shocked to see him right in front of the elevator while holding my purse.
We both feel silent while looking at each other. Seems like he wasn’t expecting me to go back to his place either. What is he doing holding my purse? Was he about to run after me just to turn it back?
He cleared his throat. “Your purse,” “My purse,” we said in unison.
“Thanks—” I said awkwardly. I was about to take it from his hand, but he suddenly gripped them. I felt electricity running through my veins as our hands touched. He was looking at me intensely, and I felt my face burning hot only by his stare. If that’s even possible.
“f**k—” He said before he pushed me back against the elevator wall. He grabbed both of my hands, joining them above my head. My purse was long forgotten, falling to the floor the moment he pushed me in.
He pressed his lips onto mine. It was soft and warm. His tongue was seeking entrance into my mouth, and I unconsciously parted my lips until our tongues mixed together, fighting for dominance. His one hand went to cupped my butt, giving them a light squeeze.
This might not be my first kiss, but it would certainly be the most memorable one.
I’ve never shared a kiss this passionately before.
I was kissing a stranger who was twice my age!
The reality hits me like a brick. If he was actually that old. He must’ve had a wife and a child.
Moreover, he was hot and filthy rich. There’s no way that this man is single.
I took a chance to push him back while he was being caught off guard. I quickly pushed the closed door button, leaving him there outside the elevator.
I fell to the floor, catching my breath as the elevator went down. What the hell just happened?
I quickly picked up my purse and ran away after the elevator went opened again.
I stopped a taxi in front of the hotel. I got into the car. Then I saw him running after me.
“Hey, stop right there!” he said, and I quickly ducked my head.
“Drive!” I said to the driver. He looked confused, but then he followed my instruction.
After a while, I peeked behind, and I couldn’t see him anymore.
I was lucky tonight.
*******************
“What did you say? You want to cancel the deal?! Are you out of your mind, Eleanor?” Dad screamed at me before his hand flew to my right cheek.
It stung like hell. Not only the physical pain that I felt but also mentally. He never hit me before this, and now it seems like he just made it really clear to me that he would never see me as his daughter anymore. The disappointment on his face was so clear.
“Why did you insist on having this deal anyway? Our company is not lack of money, dad!? I am not selling myself to that man!” I yelled back at him, and he was about to hit me again on the other cheek, but then Everett stopped him.
“Calm down, dad! What’s with all the commotion so early in the morning?” He asked, and then dad’s angry eyes turned to him.
“You’re also useless! I’ve told you to drive her to that place.” Dad said.
“And I did….” Everett replied. “I did send her to the hotel!” He stated.
Dad’s expression turned into a more confused one. “So you met him already?” He asked me. He wasn’t as angry anymore. But before I could answer it, my dad’s secretary knocked on the door.
“I’m sorry to disturb you, Mr. Wright… But Mr. Castro was here to see you.” She informed us, and then I felt like my heart stopped beating at that moment.
He’s here? I couldn’t believe it.
Why did he have to be this determined to have me? I don’t understand.
“Perfect timing, just let him in,” Dad said to Cassandra.
I turned around and saw a middle-aged man step into the room. I was confused. He’s not the same man from last night.
They shared the same intimidating aura. I watched him as he walked in with his bodyguard. I just knew it! That man from last night must be tricking me! He can’t be Mr. Castro. This one looked more of my dad’s age.
“Ahh… Mr. Castro!” Dad went to him and shook his hand.
“Mr. Wright…My apologies for last night.” He said, and I swore my heart nearly jumped out from its ribcage. I think dad would really kill me this time.
“Please… take a seat first,” Dad said, guiding him to his desk before he shot me a warning look as if he was threatening me to not mess it again this time. He was calling me with his hand.
“I believe you already met my daughter, Eleanor.” Dad said, smiling at Mr. Castro.
The man turned to look at me. “Ah, so this is the lovely Eleanor Wright? Apologies, I couldn’t make it last night. I have urgent matters that need to be taken care of.” He took my hand and gently kissed the back of my palm.
My hands were sweating and trembling. I was so afraid of him that I couldn’t even look straight into his eyes. I could feel his burning gaze over my face.
“So you both haven’t met last night?” I was lucky dad interrupted.
“Um, no…” Mr. Castro now gave dad his attention. He paused for a while and said. “But I hope the deal is still on.”
“Of course, Louis. I’m glad you like my daughter.” Dad said, and it stung more than his slap on my cheek earlier.
“I have my condition.” He stated. Dad didn’t say anything, allowing him to speak.
“I want Eleanor to move into my house starting tonight.” Mr. Castro said. My eyes widened in shock.
