Max vs Elica II

Max is taking down all the ice thorns on the wall. However, it was all only a trick before he moved sideways and tried to attack Elica from the other side of the wall after going around it. With this move, Max thinks that he will be able to approach Elica. Little did he know, when he moves past the wall, Elica is nowhere to be seen.

Max might not be able to see her movement. However, the audience can see it clearly. Once Max is closing in and unleashing punches on the ice thorns, Elica already makes her escape. She seemed to be walking casually, but she managed to gain some distance from Max. While Max couldn’t see her movement, she can still feel his position by using her ice.

Right now, she is already situated behind Max and prepared for her next attack. A long whip made out of ice suddenly appeared in the air and lashed out towards him. Max didn’t realize the danger. Only after a whooshing sound can be heard coming from behind and the movement of the wind is felt by him, he dodged to the side in a hurry.

*Bam*

Many didn’t think much of ice as it was formed from water and fundamentally brittle. However, when it is at an extreme temperature, it could become as hard as granite. Not to mention the worse part of Elica's ability is her freezing properties of ice.

The ground cracked from Elica’s ice whip attack, and it didn’t stop there. Compared to the ice bullet that couldn’t be controlled after fired, the ice whip is flexible and seemed to be under Elica’s complete control.

It chased after Max as it launched another whipping attack. Max tried to block the follow-up attack as it is already too late for him to dodge. He uses the wind gauntlets to stop it, but the force behind the whip is more significant than he predicted. His body is pushed away a few steps due to the pressure of the whip.

“Darn it. I didn’t think that fragile-looking ice whip packs so much punch. I need to be a little bit more careful.”

Due to the attack, Max even feels his arm feeling numb. However, he didn’t back out as he has decided to get close to Elica. It can be seen from Elica’s earlier ice whip attack that her long-range ability is deadly, and Max will have it more severe fighting against her from far.

Once again, Max jumped upwards and dived down to approach Elica. This time, he doesn’t want to fall to the same trick. As Elica raises her ice-thorn walls, Max jumped to the air once again, making his movement like the letter ‘N’. This time, he can see what is happening behind the ice wall.

He saw that Elica was trying to move away from behind the ice wall and dived down once again. Elica realizes something is wrong this time because Max doesn’t destroy the ice thorns on the wall. The moment she looked at the ice wall, he saw Max already standing in front of him.

Max didn’t want to miss this chance as he was immediately planning to attack Elica right away.

“I got you!”

If Max thinks that he got the match in his pocket, he couldn’t be more wrong. There’s one fatal thing that Max didn’t realize. The closer he is to Elica, the easier it for her to target him too. Not to mention that all of her stats are already C-rank.

Once Max gets close to her, he can now feel that the air is getting colder. Every past opponent of Elica realized this. The worst thing about facing Elica isn’t about the lethality of her ability. It is the freezing effect that comes from her ice nature.

When the body comes into contact with something of low temperature and cools us down, frostnip, followed by frostbite, is something that could threaten your life. At extremely cold temperatures, it could even cause a frost burn.

Low body temperature can cause heart attack, respiratory failure as the nerve and other organ enters a state of shock. A mild sign can cause a slower body response, shivering, and that is what Max is feeling right now.

Without him realizing it, Elica has been lowering the temperature in the arena. It is done gradually without Max knowing it. When the wind bullet is returned to him as an ice bullet, Elica has been doing this.

The temperature is already around minus five degrees Celcius. Max can now feel that his brain is working slower, and this is not a good sign. He wanted to dodge, but his body couldn’t react fast enough, and the ice whip hit him squarely in the chest, sending his body backwards several meters.

Max feel it is even harder to breathe right now due to the hit and the cold.

“This is bad. I need to do something.”

If Max uses a fire-based ability, he might conjure fire to warm himself up. Too bad, his power is of the wind elements that couldn’t cause any atmospheric changes in temperature. A person might feel cooler if the wind hits them when the temperature is hot, but the wind itself didn’t bring the cooling effect.

Elica doesn’t want to give Max a time to rest as she aimed to end this match quickly. Another ice whip is directed towards Max, and as his body still in a sluggish state, it is another clean hit that throws Max some distance away.

Max feels it is cumbersome to raise himself up from the ground due to the freezing effect. He knows that if he didn’t get up right now, he would probably lose the match. Just like that, the final moment of this match arrives as Elica didn’t give any mercy.

For the third time, the ice whip is heading towards Max and aiming for knocking him out and ending the match at the same time.
