Max and Giovanni vs Richard

What is spoken by the people above the stage wasn’t heard by the audience. At first, the audience is shocked at the explosion, but they calmed down after seeing Elrisa’s appearance. Now, after Elrisa is going somewhere with Chang’e, leaving Max and Giovanni behind with Richard, they think that this is a special event that the association arranges.

However, an announcement was made by the United Heroes association.

“There has been an attack by a terrorist group. Please remain calm and head towards the nearest evacuation shelter.”

Hearing the announcement, the audience didn’t panic at all, although there is a sense of anxiety. After all, they are used to things like sudden danger due to the threat from villains. The audience was about to leave and head to the nearest safety area before Richard, who seemed to be displeased by the turnout of the event speak out.

“Stay and return to your seat!”

As if containing magic in them, Richard's voice is causing the people around the stadium to act in a strange way. They slowly returned to their seats and didn’t make any other movement as if their bottom was glued to the chair.

When Richard speak earlier, Max couldn’t even tell what he is doing. He couldn’t sense any movement of the elements in the air, but he can feel some of the action of Richard’s power.

Richard's gaze then moves from the audience towards Max and Giovanni.

“Now, shall we start our fight? Let’s determine who is the one more suitable to be called the best newcomer.”

Max and Giovanni haven’t made any move yet. They are enraged and incensed since the way Richard talk so far is looking down on them. However, Max and Giovanni is a hero that has enough experience on the field facing villains. They need to keep calm and assess the situation first. They don’t know about Richard and his ability. That is the first reason. Secondly, even Elrisa comes forward earlier. It shows how dangerous the situation is.

Max and Giovanni are in a heated battle earlier on. Right now, as if they have come to an agreement. They looked at each other and nodded. They know that there is a bigger enemy in front of them that they need to face first before settling things between them.

“Don’t be shy. I don’t mind if you two come to this king at the same time. It will save us some time and pointless action.”

“I will make sure that you regret this. My name is Child of Light, a D-rank hero that will defeat you.”

Giovanni is the first one to talk before Max. After he introduced himself, it was Max’s turn.

“My name is Air hero. I don’t understand why you are doing this or where your confidence comes from. I’ll make sure to defeat you and put you to jail.”

Giovanni has confidence in his speed, and Max doesn’t feel like he will lose after his enlightenment. He doesn’t know how strong he is now, but he knows that his overall ability has been improved.

“Haha. Anyone can say anything they want, but they should have the strength to back it up. Come, prove it to this king!”

Giovanni is the first one to make his move. He shoots out a light beam at Richard, and Max followed up with his signature wind bullets.

Looking at the two attacks coming at him, Richard doesn’t seem to be fazed at all. He calmly looks at it and muttered one word.

“Disappear!”

Somehow, as if they are obeying Richard’s command, Giovanni’s ray and Max’s bullet vanishes into thin air.

“What?”

Looking at that, Giovanni and Max are surprised. They can feel that their attack is being cut off. It wasn’t Richard defending against their attack. It was as if their power lost its strength before it could reach Richard.

Seeing that long-range attack is useless, Giovanni’s body flickered as he is going to approach Richard. Before he could even get close, Richard speaks again.

“Stop!”

At that moment, Giovanni can feel as if something is pushing his body backward, stopping him from moving forward. Max realized something is strange as he see Giovanni stopped halfway before reaching Richard. It was then his turn to move as the wind supports his body as Max charged towards Richard.

“Repel!”

Max’s body then showed a fiercer reaction than Giovanni’s as his body is catapulted backward with a greater force than his forward motion. He even got thrown to the wall of the arena due to the tremendous pressure.

“Gah!”

Max even coughed out some blood as his body suffered from internal injury. Giovanni saw what happened to Max and feel the pressure on his body lessened before flickered once again.

“Back!”

This time, Giovanni’s body is pushed backward as he landed on his feet while leaving a trail on the ground as he is still moving several steps back.

“Kneel for this king!”

The moment Richard said that, Giovanni could feel as if a mountain is pressing down on him. While Max, who laid down on the ground, feels his body crushed by an invisible hand. Max struggled to get back on his feet but failed to do so as he falls again to the floor.

By this time, Giovanni and Max also realized that Richard's power must have something to do with the sentence he speaks out. After all, their body reacted to the sentence that he spoke.
