Max and Giovanni vs Richard II

Richard has a unique ability that is related to speech. It can be said that no such ability has been heard of before. Richard’s strength is also on another level since to make the arena’s barrier breaking apart, not only he needs to have the ability suitable for it, he also needs to have sufficient strength to back it up.

Max and Giovanni also realized that Richard’s ability has something to do with sound. However, both of them don’t know how to face him right now. They can only try to win since they are now fighting two versus one, which means they still have a chance.

Max tried to wake up, and Giovanni also did the same the moment the pressure on their body lessened. It can be seen that Richard’s ability is strong, but the effect didn’t last long. As if coming to an understanding, Max moved towards the left while Giovanni moved to the right. Both of them are trying to flank Richard from both sides.

“Down!”

Once again, Max’s and Giovanni’s body is being pressed to the ground. It seemed that Richard’s attack has a wide area of effect. It can be seen how the audience around the stadium is affected by his power earlier.

This time, the effect doesn’t last as long as earlier. As not long after, Max and Giovanni continue to charge at him again. Giovanni's body flashed and disappeared from view while Max jumped to the sky, almost hitting the barrier above the arena.

Max knows that if he falls from this height, he will suffer a fatal wound. However, he doesn’t have a choice since he will need to try everything to defeat Richard. Not only because he doesn’t want to lose, but he knows that although Richard doesn’t seem to be a vicious person, he is a member of the evil mastermind.

There are no good people that joined evil masterminds. After all, their goal is to go against the United Heroes association and wreak havoc on the community. Richard right is now deciding on what to do with Giovanni and Max. Although he thinks that they aren’t his match, their determination and persistence start to annoy him.

“You guys are just like a cockroach, didn’t know when to stop and keep on coming back after being squashed. Sleep!”

This time, Richard is trying to defeat Max and Giovanni in one move. Max can feel his eyelids is getting heavier as he wants to fall asleep. Sudden tiredness is overwhelming him as if telling his body to rest. Max is about to close his eyelids, and his body started to fall down from the sky. He is now diving to the ground headfirst as his body free falling. Just when he is a few meters from hitting the ground, the wind hits his face, and the cool breeze immediately wakes him up again.

“Wait, what?”

Max is panicked as he is about to hit the floor. Thankfully, the wind wakes him up, and he immediately summoned a cushion made out of the wind in front of him. Luckily, Max could get himself out of the predicament on time. He could recover from the fall and landed safely on the ground.

Max looked around and found that Giovanni has fallen asleep not far from Richard. Giovanni is now in a dangerous situation since Max can see Richard walking towards him. Giovanni is closer to Richard, and it seemed that although Richard's ability has a wide area of attack, the effect is still stronger the closer the target is towards him. Max needs to do something. If not, Giovanni might be harmed by Richard. Richard sauntered towards Giovanni as he pointed his finger at Giovanni.

“Break!”

Looking at the situation, Max summoned the wind to pull Giovanni’s body towards him. There is no resistance whatsoever since Giovanni is sleeping right now. Richard’s attack suddenly misses its target while the ground takes the hit and explodes into smithereens. Looking at the target in front of his eye that slipped away because of Max, Richard then glares at him.

Max, for now, ignored the stare as he needs to wake Giovanni up.

“Wake up! Giovanni!”

Max tapped Giovanni’s cheek a few times, and it is enough to wake him up since he isn’t in that much of deep sleep in the first place.

“Eh, what happened?”

Giovanni then realized the situation he is in the moment he saw Max.

“Darn it! That got me good. Thank you, Air hero!”

Although Max knows about Giovanni’s name, it wasn’t the case for Giovanni. However, that doesn’t change the camaraderie they have. After all, they a common enemy, which is Richard.

“This king is playing nice with you. However, playtime it’s over. If I drag it for too long, people might think that I am incompetent. Let’s finish this.”

Richard's expression then turned severe as Max and Giovanni prepared themselves. After all, they have seen what Richard is capable of. Giovanni almost lost his life earlier if Max isn’t there to bring his body away.

Richard then takes out several knives from his pocket that looked very sharp. It is colored black, just like a ninja’s throwing blade.

“Up!”

The moment Richard said that the knives are flying around him and suspended in the air. Richard then pointed at Max and Giovanni as he gives a command to the blades.

“Go!”

The moment Richard said that, the flying knives headed towards Max and Giovanni. Max raised his wind wall to defend while Giovanni’s palm once again glowed in white light.

Richard only smirked, seeing their attempt to defend themselves from his attack.

“Oh no! This is bad!”

Max realized the situation is dire the moment his wind wall couldn’t stop the knives at all. Because of that, he can only twist his body in the last attempt to dodge it. In the end, his shoulder is still pierced by the knives. The wound is deep enough until his white bone is shown.

On the other hand, Giovanni isn’t faring better. His palm has holes in it, as both of them couldn’t stop Richard’s attack.
