Training signature move

The information that is shown on the page about Vanya is very limited. After all, if it were that easy, the detective would have found her and Lindt already. The information is only showing basic details such as age, height and that is all. There is an address of her home, but Max doubted they would find anything. However, that is the only clue that they have right now.

“I think that the only information that we could get from this is only her address. Do you want to come with me when I come to visit her house?”

“Nah, you can do it alone. I doubt you could get any important information from that. Just contact me when you already got the visual of our target. Remember, the main culprit of the incident will be Lindt and Vanya. Since you don’t know what Lindt looks like, he is very tall and big. His stature is almost double of an adult man, so there is no way for you to miss him.”

Yuna is still a bit doubtful about Max explanation about Lindt, but there’s no other clue otherwise. Max then leaves the net café while Yuna once again inputted Max Air name on the search bar of the database.

She finally confirmed that everything that Max told her is true. How he lost his family in the incident and how he lives in the orphanage. After that, Yuna gets out of the net café with a notebook with Vanya’s address. She decided to go pay a visit to the place and see if she could get any clue.

Max, who is walking alone towards the orphanage, is looking again at the back of his palm where the fire butterfly is located. He can faintly feel the heat coming from it, but it was very indistinct.

“Can I use the wind to create something similar?”

Max is excited to try out his idea, so he hurried back to his secret place where he practices his superpower at the back of the orphanage.

After several days passed and he has calmed down his raging emotion, Max is able to control his superpower again. Controlling the swirling wind on top of his palm, he tried to turn it into a butterfly just like what Yuna did. However, no matter how many times he wanted to do it, he couldn’t get it to work. Even if one time he managed to get the outline of a butterfly right, it was only the form that is correct. It couldn’t fly by itself or attached itself to something that moves. Max tried to connect it to a passing squirrel, but it dissipates after a while.

“I guess I am not talented enough. There is a reason why Yuna manages to become the youngest hero to get her license. I shouldn’t be jealous of her and train my power instead. I wonder how can I develop my superpower to be unique and belongs to me only?”

Although many heroes have controlled wind-based superpower, they all have a special move that differentiates them from each other. For example, the hero ‘Tempest’ with her special move that summons three hurricanes simultaneously, acquires her the nickname of human catastrophe. Other heroes might be able to control the wind, but they couldn’t summon three hurricanes at the same time like what she did. Even if they tried to copy and managed to succeed, the power that the skill showcased was pale in comparison.

Although Max just started out on his path to control his power, he already thinks of a way to create his own signature move. He recalled all of the heroes that he knows in his mind, and there’s a name of a hero that pops out immediately. Aqua boy, the name of the hero that many considered weak but back in the days, Max liked him very much. Although his water-based superpower is weak compared to the others, he makes it apparent with his special move, the water bullet.

It was one of the moves that are replicated by many due to how simple it looked, but none managed to come close to the original in terms of power or effectiveness. Basically, condensing all of your power into one spot and launch it forward like a bullet, hence the name water bullet comes. Back in the days where special move always flashy, Aqua boy approached in his own way, and contrary to its weak appearance, the water bullet managed to defeat a lot of villains’ signature move.

Max then tried to gather all of his wind power on the tip of his finger, and he realizes that Aqua boy signature move isn’t as easy as it looks. As Max tried to gather all the power that he could muster on the tip of his finger, it suddenly runs out of control, and it even hurt himself in the process. Max was sent backwards a couple of meters as the wind exploded out of control in front of him.

“Ugh, does it mean that my control isn’t good enough?”

Max realizes that it was probably the reason as he never trains his power all this time. Not to mention controlling it perfectly, just like what he attempted just now. It is normal for Max to be unable to complete the wind bullet. Not to mention that the water bullet move itself managed to become Aqua boy’s signature move. There must be something special about it as no one else comes up with a similar move.

“Alright, my goal, for now, is to be able to launch a wind bullet. At least, if I am able to do that, I will be able to protect myself.”

As mentioned before, the extent of Max’s experience with his power is by asking it to envelop himself in a gentle breeze to give him comfort as if his parents are hugging him.

“Mom, Dad, please watch over me. Although I know that revenge is bad and you probably will scold me for trying to attempt such a dangerous thing by looking for the criminal, I hope you understand.”

Max clenched his fist and gritted his teeth. Once again, he tried to practice the wind bullet move again until the moon shows up.
