Dark Stone’s City
“THIS is worst from before, bro. Another she-wolf was found on the border brutally murdered and ripped into pieces. It is one of the omega entertainers from RavenStone again," Sasha reported to Zacria while they're having their coffees at a cozy restaurant near the Alpha's building.
Zac leaned on his chair, fixed his leather mask, and rested his elbow on the armrest of his seat. “I will give Alpha Tyron a ring later and discuss this matter with him." He heaved a deep sigh and then continued. "The Mating Season’s Ball is barely four days away. We have to make sure that the city is safe from any kind of threat before the grand celebration.”
The beta nodded. He lifted his cup of coffee, sipped before he replied in a low pissed voice, “I would like to personally handle this murder case, bro. And I swear to you, I will put whoever committed this horrendous crime behind bars."
That gave Zac the assurance he needs. He knew his second in command well.
He could see how Sasha was serious in finding the criminal. Being a former tracker and a bounty hunter, he won't stop until he won't solve the case of the omega entertainers. He will have his hands on the culprit that may be making its way to its next victim at that moment in no time.
The side of Zac's mouth twitched as he noticed Sasha's eyes shifted into dark orbs before going back to their normal color. It is his wolf clawing its way out.
It is bizarre to see his second in command in that state but he understood where that all came from.
Sasha's mother was killed mercilessly too when he was still young and he saw the same pattern of the murder to the case he wants to handle.
Zac breathed in and nodded. "Alright. I trust you will put an end to this as soon as possible. We will join forces with the RavenStone's officers and make a deep investigation inside Alpha Tyron's lair."
They both know the killings were done in RavenStone City and the bodies were thrown to the border. The criminal may be planning for two nearby packs to attack each other's throat but he's failing big time for the bond between the Reid and the de Quia clan is stronger than blood being members of the Alliance.
"Thank you, bro," Sasha muttered with gratefulness that the Alpha believed that he could catch the unlawful rascal who's victimizing women.
- Time skip-
Zac and Sasha with some of their subordinates behind them exited the restaurant and were about to go back to the Alpha's tower when suddenly, the leader halted.
“What the hell, bro!” the beta groaned as they all collided with each other like dominos and almost fell over.
The corner of Zac's mouth lifted as his eyes settled across the street where he caught sight of a lovely red-haired she-wolf.
“See that woman with a basket?” he asked Sasha.
The second in command who pushed their subordinates away from him and stood up straight frowned deeply. "Are you blind or you just hit your head again, somewhere?" He snickered. "Damn it, bro. That red-haired woman is Lucy del Romance. She's the woman whom you visited last night that you had to wake me up and drive you to del Romance ranch. The woman who had the guts to push you out of the window that you broke your limbs for an hour, right?"
Zacria grinned. “Exactly. Now, bring that woman to me!” he then ordered before he turned around and went back inside the restaurant.
_______
WHILE, at that moment...
(Lucy’s POV)
I was on my way to the market that's only a few blocks away to buy something to cook for lunch and dinner when a retard blocked my way which made me halted.
"Oh, come on! I have no money to give you today," I exclaimed with irritation in my voice and not lifting my head for the sun shone too bright that day it hurts my eyes.
Heck.
Maybe it was one of the beggars I always provided small cash for food whenever I'm going downtown.
Not waiting for a reply, I sidestepped and was about to go past him or her but only groaned in annoyance as another one blocked me.
I was in a hurry for I don't want to trigger my stepmother and receive punishment again. Enough reason to make me snap.
"Look! I have no time to chat or play games now! Out of my way, please!" I confronted them and finally looked up only to get surprised when my eyes landed on a very handsome male wolf's face.
“Good noon, Miss del Romance,” the man wearing a pair of suits greeted me. He flashed a breathtaking smile which instantly made my cheeks heated.
"Oh, my! Good noon too, mister." I held the side of the basket in my arm tightly.
It is not every day that I will meet a gorgeous species down the street and smile at me like that.
But...
I wonder who he is?
What does he want from me and why does he know my name?
I gazed at him more intensely until I finally recognized him. "I know you!"
The man in front of me grinned and scratched his head. “My apology for not introducing myself, Miss Lucy." He then extended his right hand. "I am Magnum Sasha, the Beta of DarkStone City."
I grinned back at him but didn't accept his handshake. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Beta Sasha but you see, I am in a hurry so goodbye!"
With a humbled smile plastered on my face, I went past him to continue on my way to the market, however, two pairs of hands quickly stopped me by the arms.
My eyes widened in alarm as my mind was filled with confusion. "Wait! What is this?" I asked the Beta as two officers of DarkStone pulled me back.
Beta Sasha sighed and replied, "There's someone who wants to talk with you, Miss."
I gulped in nervousness and murmured, "Can I say no?"
"Yes, you can." He beamed at me with amusement written all over his face.
I sighed in relief and with a simper on my lips, I muttered, "Then I say no and I'm sorry cause I really am in a hu-"
But Beta Sasha immediately cut my words and said, "However, the man over there won't take no for an answer." He pointed his finger across the road where a restaurant was.
Inside and near the glass window is a familiar man wearing a three-piece suit and black leather mask seating behind the table and looking at us rather than looking at me.
I chuckled and mumbled, "You're joking right?"
I mean, what's the Alpha of DarkStone want with me? He doesn't even know me.
"I'm afraid no," Beta Sasha answered with finality.
I chuckled once again and before they could anticipate it, I stomped my foot to the officer on my right and hit the one on my left with my basket. Their grips on me loosened and I took that as an opportunity to run.
"Miss Lucy!" Beta Sasha called out for me but I ignored him and trotted as fast as I can.
There's no way that I will talk to him! That Cria; the plumber man. Maybe he's working on the Reids mansion and told the Alpha that I told him I am the Alpha's girlfriend.
Oh, Moon Goddess! Why my life sucks!
