CHAPTER THIRTEEN

TIME SKIP (Lucy’s POV) From running down the crowded street of Dark Stone City and from my original plan of only buying what I need in the market, I just found myself after a few minutes inside a cozy restaurant near the Alpha's building. Seating awkwardly across the prince charming of all she-wolves in that territory; Zacria Reid. Still catching my breath, I gave a short glimpse on the other table where the smirking second in command of DarkStone and the two officers who chased after me and brought me into that situation were. Beta Sasha grinned and wiggled his brows while I barred my teeth at him in irritation. It's his fault! Who told him to be so obedient to his leader, huh! Nevertheless, I quickly composed myself for I don't want the Alpha to think I'm disrespectful to his beta. I'm just an Omega so I must behave precisely according to my rank. Heaving a deep sigh, I turned my head in front of me and gave a curt smile at the most sought bachelor male wolf in the werewolf realm who summoned me. Who at that moment like a King leaning his back on his seat, his arms on the armrests and even he's wearing a mask, I could tell he's gazing at me which made my whole face heated. Heck. What's wrong with him? He's been doing that since I entered the restaurant and it's unnerving. Is he punishing me for running away or something? If it's his new way of bullying well, he's succeeding big time. I promptly lowered my gaze for my heart began to pound erratically inside my chest that I'm afraid I'll have a heart seizure. I then mentally snickered cause just by simple stares and he could make me freaking edgy. Perks of being an Alpha. Just by his mere presence, his scent, any wolf could fall to their knees. Dragging a long deep breath, I tried to calm myself. I reached for the cup of coffee the waiter served me and took a sip. “You're quite a runner, Miss del Romance," the Alpha commenced conversing in a teasing low deep voice which tickled my ears and made my wolf wagged her tail at the back of my head. 'Oh come on! Stop it, kinky wolf' I annoyingly barked at Sky and she just huffed at me. "It took ten minutes before my men caught you. How are you feeling now?” the Alpha continued which made me pouted. How am I feeling? If only he's not our leader and not my ultimate crush, I'm going to snap at him for the stupid question. I mean, I felt like I'm going to pass out from exhaustion, right? His freaking men didn't stop trotting after me until they caught me making me looked like I'm the most wanted criminal on the planet being hunted down. Yet, I decided to let it slide and just reasonably talk to him to know what's their deal. I've no time to waste or I'll get beaten again by the witch queen later. "I'm great, Alpha," I finally responded to the man in mask across me and settled my cup back to the table. I rested my hands on my lap before I expressed my question without meeting his soul-piercing eyes to avoid stuttering. "I'm just concerned about this sudden invitation though. I mean, did I do something wrong to this pack that I am unaware of?" My father always told me when I was a little girl to grow up a law-abiding member of our city. Not to cause trouble that may add up to our leader's dilemma. So I am really disturbed by what they want from me. Or is my suspicion right that Cria told him that I told Cria I'm the Alpha's girlfriend? If that i***t did, then he's dead meat if I see him again. Alpha Zacria straightened his back, clasped his hands in front of him, and focused more on staring at me. "My sincere apology if this invitation alarmed you, Miss del Romance," he answered with a hint of worries on the timber of his voice and then clarified the misunderstanding. "My men and I mean no harm to you and the reason why I invited you over is, to personally show my gratitude for your heroin act at the parade." I frowned and finally looked up at him with confusion. "Heroin act?" Does he mean I'm off the hook about the girlfriend thingy and he just wants to thank me? Is that it? "Yes," he muttered. "You saved the life of this pack's leader and I owe you big for that." Upon hearing that, my worries melted and my awkwardness disappeared. Heck. I facepalmed mentally. I was just scaring myself for no reason. Shaking my head, I waved my right hand at him. "Oh, Alpha, you don't owe me anything. Anyone will do what I did if they see someone in danger," I told him with no hypocrisy. "Also, the Reid's has been serving and protecting DarkStone for years. It should be us who should be grateful to you and your family so don't stress yourself too much about gratitude." After affirming all that, I stood up and bowed my head. "Now that we're all good, I must continue on my way for I still have so many things to do tod-" I still haven't finished my last sentence when Zacria Reid cut me. "Oh, yes. I remember Cria wants to say hello, Miss del Romance." "Oh!" I shortly sat back on my seat and beamed at him. "I forgot I'm free today so yes, I'm all ears. What's that freaking trickster said to you, Alpha? Did he told you that I told him that you are my boyfriend or?" Now that it's confirmed Cria knew Zacria Reid, I must make sure he didn't tell him about our conversation two days ago. To my utter surprise, Alpha Zac laughed aloud while the men at the other table hollered and rolled down to the floor clutching their stomachs. I snickered. Is there something funny?
