Leviathan's Point of View

I watched from the window in my wing as she walked out of the palace with the book in hand and I smiled. She was happy.

"Did you hear the maid that cleans the princes room is the cursed one?" I heard a female say as she walked up the staircase I was near. I felt the anger inside of me begin to boil, she is my mate and they should respect her.

"I heard. My husband said the council refused to give her a mate because her mother is a whore." Another women said.

"I heard that too. What I don't understand is she is here."

"That remains a mystery. Perhaps she is trying to land a dragon because god knows no man in town wants her."

Both women laughed and I moved to the front of the stairs so they could see me when they walked around the bend of the staircase.

"She will be dead soon enough. Shocked she isn't.....Oh your majesty I ddi not know you were there," The tiny blond women said as she came around the bend and stopped dead in her tracks when she saw me. She looked down towards the ground.

I looked art both women and wanted to snap their necks. "Why are you shocked one of your own is not dead?" Neither women respond. "I command you to speak, now. Now tell me why you are shocked one of your own is not dead?"

"Um....um well you see your highness no one in town will let her buy any goods and the land she lives on is dead. She should be dead due to starvation but she is not."

"And why will no one let her buy goods?" I asked.

"She is cursed. The council would not give her a mate and she is cursed because of it. They do not want her bad luck to affect them."

I could not stand what either of them was saying and I wanted to be near her. Watch over her and protect her. "If I ever hear either of you one speak about another in such a distugusting manor I will kill you."

"Yes sir." Both women said in unison. I walked away leaving the two women standing there and went back to my room.

As I entered my room her sent was still there and I just stood there and breathed it in allowing it to calm me.

Kayla's Point Of View

Since I didn't have to return to the palace for three days I decided to forgo working in the yard and have a night of rest. I bathed in the lake nearby and ate some of the delicious food that was left for me the night before . With a full belly I laid in my bed and opened the book. I read for hours about the lives the dragon had lived before everything had changed.

It was the night of the winter flame festival when everything changed. Instead of the moon shinning high in the sky with the passing of flaming stars, the sun began to rise again and the planet began to shake. People began to panic due to the unknown and there was nothing we could do. We did not know why this was happening but as the shaking increased the sun rose very quickly into the sky. The shaking increased and people could hardly stand, those in the sky began to fly into each other and plumit to the ground causing building to be destroyed and just as quickly as the shaking had increased it stopped.

Even though there was damage to the city and surrounding areas didn't matter because from that day forwaard everything had changed. The temperature began to rise and the sun remained high in the sky. It never moved and the planet would shake.

The dragons who were sent to inspect the planet reported that the whole planet was lit up with the sun in the sky. Normally one side was dark while the other was light but now it was just light. As the days went by the temperature kept riseing and the lakes began to dry up. It wasn't until the tenth day that a giant round figure appeared in the sky. It seemed to be getting closer and closer by the moment and suddenly the planet began to shake and the ground around us started to crumble. People began to take to the sky and fly away from the crumbling ground hoping to survive the events onfolding in front of them.

With the planet shaking and dust in the sky those who made it to the other side of the planet, Those of us remaining found shelter on a tall mountain. Children were crying while others tried to figure out what was going on. It took several days for the planet to settle and when it did scouts were sent to find survivors and how much damage had occured. Only one came back and he was ill. The air had changed the close they got to our home land. It was poisonus and from what he could see the land was ruined but the land went on for miles. The sky was now orange and white but for us it was still blue.

As the days went by the scout died and the sky began to change and the air started to become thicker. Many of those who survived began to die while others began to get sick. We began to wonder if this was it for our race.

It was on the twelfth day when a new planet began to come towards us and soon it ran into us. The shaking and crumbling ground happened again. Those of us healthy enough took to the skies and when it had ended we found a place ot place. We were a land of thousands and now we were hundreds. It took a week but the sky went from oragne and white to blue and the air was not as thick. Scouts began to fly to see what had happened and when they returned we learned that there was another race in ruins but we remained where we were. What if we kept getting hit by other planets, so we waited.

We waited for several weeks and it seemed as if the planet was back to normal. The king and his men took to the skies to see about a new home.

I read until I feel asleep and that night I dreamt of dragons flying high in the sky.
