Leviathan's Point of View "Dravin," I said as I entered the council chambers. Dravin was looking over papers and looked up at me, as did the other council members. "Yes, my lord," Dravin said. "You and I need to talk now. My office you now," I said as I turned around and walked out of the chamber. I could hear Dravin's footsteps behind me and they were coming in fast. "What the hell," Dravin said as he fell into step with me. "This better be good because I was in the middle of a meeting." I smiled and kept walking. "We need to talk and it's more important than a council meeting." "It better be and what is so important?" "Not here." "Of course," Dravin said while he rolled his eyes. It didn't take long for us to be on my wing and I carefully smelled the air. She was still cleaning my room and I just smiled as we passed my room. As we entered my office, I shut the door and crossed my arms over my chest and leaned against the door. "What is this about Levi? Like I said, it was in an important meeting and the elder members will not be happy I walked out," Dravin said. We were best friends and in private he always called me by my name and not my formal title. "They will live plus I am the crowned prince." Dravin just looked at me. "I'm waiting." "I do not like your tone." "I am waiting," he said. "What am I about to tell you stays between us but I need your help." "Of course, you know you can trust me." "It has to deal with my mate." "now I am interested. Go on." I stood there in silence as I thought about my mate and then sighed. "My mate is human," I said as I looked Dravin in the eyes. He stood there in silence. "Say something." He cleared his throat before speaking. "That is impossible." "It's not " "You hate humans." "I don't hate her. She smells amazing, other humans stink." "And how did you find her?" "I'm not telling." "Of course not, but how is this possible?" "One word. Brental," I said as I looked him in the eye. As the name sank in, his facial expression changed to shock. "Council member Brental?" he said. "Yes. Apparently he had a human mate and when he marked her she changed." "By change, what do you mean?" "That I am unclear about that. His journal was discovered and they had a child, but then nothing. I need you to look in the files that the council has locked up." Dravin groaned and said, "You know I don't have access to those records." "Find away." "I'll see what I can do." "That's all I ask." I walked over to the door and opened it. "You can go." "One question. Do you plan to take her as your mate?" I looked at Dravin and said, "I want to. It is taking everything in me not to touch her." "As a council member, it is my job to inform you that if you take her you will lose your royal statues." I shut the door and said, "what do you mean?" "Royals always take a pure blood as a mate. Plus, the humans are beneath us and the council will never allow a dragon to mate a human." "Just get me the information, Dravin," I said with annoyance lacing my tone. "Of course." Dravin walked over to the door, opened it and walked out without another word. I stood there for a moment thinking about what he said and walked out. Her smell was now faint in the hallway, meaning she had not been down this way for awhile and I wondered if she was still in my room. It didn't take long to get to my room and when I opened the door her scent was so strong that I gripped the handle. I looked around the room and there she was standing by my book case looking at the books and I smiled. "See anything interesting?" I asked. She jumped and looked at me. "I, I, I am sorry," she said as she looked down. "Your fine. You can borrow a book if you would like." "Really?" She said as she looked at me with a smile spreading across her face. "I am." She looked at the bookcase and began to run her hands over the books and I have to admit I was jealous. I wanted her hands on me. "Any recommendations?" I walked up to the bookcase while taking her scent in. I looked at the books and grabbed one from the shelf. " "Do you know much about when the world collided?" I asked. "Only the stories passed down." "We kept journals about what happened. This is section," I pointed to the spot I kept the journals about the time leading up to the collision. "Is about before it happened and leading up to it." "Wow. We don't have many books." I looked at her as she flipped through the book. "Read this one and tell me what you think. This was written by one of the elders." "Thank you." "Your welcome." We stood there in silence. Her looking at the book like it was the greatest treasure and me looking at her. I cleared my throat and said, "When your done with it bring it back and let me know what you think. I have the next one in the set you can read." She looked at me with a big smile. "I will." She looked back at the book and then at me. "I should finish my chores," She whispered, and then walked away from me. I wanted to pull her back and hold her but I couldn't. One day I would, but today was not that day. I watched her as she gathered her stuff and left the room.
