CHAPTER ELEVEN
Taut like a bow, Ariel clenched her fists over her mouth. A few seconds later, the sounds of a scuffle from outside her door pumped adrenaline into her veins. Her heart pounded in her chest at every groan that bounced from the corridor walls.
Tears burned in her eyes, but Ariel knew that she couldn’t let them fall. The woman was afraid that she would start sobbing uncontrollably, and the people in the hall would hear her.
