He froze, his hand clenching around his already broken phone while the male with the green eyes let go of his camera and it was dangling from his neck. He started clapping then, a smile evident on his lips and soon everyone else followed his lead.
"That was one hell of a show you guys pulled there. Wanna tell us what was that all about?" He questioned as he walked down the few stairs the front door had and stood in front of Carter whose hands started shaking and sweating.
He was freaking out on the inside as he stared at his beautiful face. He was breath-taking and for a second he forgot how to breathe like he had earlier when he saw him and thankfully, his friend came to his rescue before he could say anything stupid and embarrass himself even more because standing there and staring at him with googly eyes was embarrassing or at least, that's how he felt.
"That's between us but what I can tell is that this son of a b***h," he pointed at Carter, "is a lot more cunning than he seems," Carter took no offence in his words since he knew Noah didn't actually mean them. He had a tendency on talking without thinking which had gotten him in some pretty bad situations. Like that one time where he told the girl, he liked that the dress she was wearing was making her look fat and her -apparently, mafia-related- dad had come knocking on his door and beat the crap out of him. He still had a scar above his eyebrow that run down his cheek.
"Doesn't seem like it but I'll take your word on this," The still unknown to him male said before he finally introduced him, "I'm Max by the way and you guys are?"
"I'm Noah," his friend replied and then, he wrapped an arm around his shoulders, "And this is my best pal, Carter,"
"Nice to meet you, Noah and Carter. I haven't really made any friends here yet so I was wondering if you guys would like to go for burgers tonight at eight o'clock?" He looked a bit uneasy which made Carter wanna grab him and hug him. f**k, what is wrong with me? And why haven't I said a f*****g word? He probably thinks I'm an i***t by now. He thought. Say something, dumbass!
He looked over at his roommate who was already looking at him, asking him the question with his eyes and before they could both talk this out, he was already nodding at Max. "Sure, we'll meet you here at eight sharp,"
Noah's eyes widened. He had definitely not agreed with that!
"Cool, see you guys then!" And with that he walked away, leaving behind a fuming Noah and a sheepish Carter.
"The f*****g f**k was that, man?" Noah growled as they entered their room again, water dripping from his shirt all over the floor, "I can't tonight and you didn't even let me tell you that and you just agreed for me?"
Carter made a move to answer but he wouldn't let him, "I have a date tonight with Jasmine and you know how hard it was to get her to go out with me. I had to kneel in front of her whole class to get her to come and now you want me to cancel - No freaking way,"
"Oh s**t, man. I'm sorry, I didn't know but, in my defence, I panicked!"
Noah scoffed, "Why? It's not like you have a crush on him," He paused, then cursed when Carter raised his eyebrows, "Oh f**k, he is the new boy you've been talking about," Carter hummed in agreement.
"Well, I still can't come,"
Carter's eyes widened, "Please, you have to. I can't face him alone. I literally forgot how to breathe back there. I need you as moral support. Please? Pretty pretty please?" He gave him his famous puppy dog eyes which caused Noah to groan and start whining like a baby.
"But Jasmine is going to flip!"
Suddenly, he had an idea and smirked at him which caused him to worry about his life. "Give me your phone," When his friend hesitated, he raised a brow, "Give. Me. Your. Phone. NOW!" When he had the phone in his possession, he opened his texts with said girl and started typing. Noah tried to intervene a few times before he realized there was no way he would get his phone back.
Noah
Hey Jasmine. I can't make it tonight since I have a surprise for you but the delivery company just messaged me that your surprise will arrive tomorrow so how about we reschedule for tomorrow night at nine pm?
The reply came in seconds.
Jasmine
okay, sure. also, you do realise it's not a surprise anymore, right?
Noah
Goddamnit, sorry
Jasmine
It's fine. I'll see you tomorrow :)
"Now you can come with me," he passed the phone to Noah who immediately check what his friend had done and groaned when he noticed that his date got rescheduled.
"What surprise? I don't have a surprise for her!"
"Um, go to that shop you love -the one that adds stamps to your shirts- and make one for her about her favourite show but make it look like the one you can order from online," Carter stated as he let his body fall down on his bed with a smile on his face. He had a date! A freaking date! Well, it wasn't exactly a date date but still, this was huge!
"How is this a surprise?"
"I'll help you with the rest. Scented candles, string fairy lights, lots of pizza and coke, a cute blanket for you guys to sit on, the shirt you will make her and you got yourself an awesome picnic," He winked at him from his spot on the bed and then closed his eyes to relax.
Noah hit him with his pillow, groaning in frustration, "I don't know her favourite show, man!"
Carter raised his eyebrows again, "Everyone at campus knows Jasmine loves FRIENDS, she lives by watching Chandler Bing. How do you not know this?" He scoffed, rolling his eyes. "And you want to date her,"
"Oh, shut up!" Another pillow smacked him on his face.
"You just started another war, you little b***h,"
