SURPRISE

At this time at the party ,

Sophia and her family has now reached the party venue . In the party hall there was many people the hall was full of people shimmering and glittering lights . The chandelier was huge . An old Woman in the centre was greeting the guests .

'' Lucy we have arrived '' her Grandpa shouts in joy . '' Mark , you have come , it's been so long time since i had seen you '' the woman exclaimed in joy . They all go near her . '' Here , i have bought these for you '' her Grandpa says handing over the flowers to her

'' Oh Mark , you still remember that i like Iris '' the old woman exclaimes in joy . '' Of course i do , '' her Grandpa replies '' Mark, are hese your family ?'' she asks . '' Yes they are this is my wife , my Son Harris , my grnddaughter and your old friend me '' he introduces .

'' Your granddaughter ? she's so adorable , whats your name m'lady ?'' she asks . '' I am Sophia '' she replies . '' Oh dea you look so pretty in this dress just like a princess '' she remarks . '' You seem the same as ever Lucy , just like those years ago '' commenst her GRANNY .

'' OH Layla , you are forgetting that i am five eyars younger than you '' the old woman remarks . '' Five year younger is nothing that much '' her Granny retorts . . '' Oh Layla you have become old now and here i am still in my prime now , do you know that i have won the best artist award in London this year '' Lucy brags .

'' Is that the reason you are holding this party ? to celebrate your sucess at this age ?''' her granny remarks . '' Not exactly '' Lucy replies . '' Mom calm down , what are you doing everyoone is looking at us '' Sophia's dad tries to stpo their fight .

'' Young man you have grown up a lot you have a wife now also a grown up daughter like her '' Lucy comments . '' I also have a son , i remarried after my first wife has passed away , but my son is ... '' Harry mutters .

'' I HAVE heard about him from your father , sorry to hear that , how's the investigation going ? did they found the killer ? '' Lucy asks . '' Not yet , the investigation is still going untill now '' Harry replies . '' He was young '' her Grandpa remarks .

'' A young life is lost hope his soul rests in peace '' says Lucy . '' So what's the reason , that you have called us ? what's the occasion ? is it for new years eve only ?'' Layla remarks sarcastically .

'' This party is for my grandson who has been living in the US and came back this year and also to celebrate new years eve '' Lucy says . '' Here , put on these masks and enjoy '' she says . '' Here , drink something too ''' she says handing the mask and drinks .

They put on the masks and the drinks in their hands . Suddenly , the light goes out . Everyone becomes worried . '' No need to get scared '' Lucy says staning near the stairs . '' Now my grandson will play a song for us with the piano and also sing for us '' she announces the stpotlight over her feets .

Among the crowd was a piano and a young man sitting . No one could see his face because his face was hidden under the mask . '' Now start '' Lucy shouts with enthusiasm . The melody started playing with a soft tone .

Everyone was watching in awe looking at his performance , the melody in the midway started as rough wind blowing past the blooming buds . Harsh and rough winds blowing past them but even after then it still stands tall .

The melody at the end is like the booming flower was crumbled to dust by the animal who came near it , the end was in a moment of despair and sadness . Everyone was looking in awe and started clapping . '' Marvellous '' someone called out .

'' This boy is amazing '' her Grandpa commented . '' He excels in everything just like his garndma Lucy , that woman also is amazing she had competed in Olympics when she was young and won silver prize in athletics . '' her Granny remarks .

''Attention ,

'' Thank you i hope you all enjoyed his performance now , he will now sing along with his playing '' says Lucy . '' Now start '' .

The boy started playing ----

A soft melody playing reminding us of the spring . Then he starts singing ,'' ("At last...my love has come along"

The melody in the middle was like a lost lover searching for her beloved at last he ahd found her but she's not alive anymore . Everyone started clapping . '' Bravo '' someone started cheering

'' This boy is amazing '' Sophia's Dad cheered . '' My grandson , Edward he has won the piano competition in the US '' says Lucy . '' Turn on the light '' she says . '' Let's start the ball now , turn on the music '' she shouts .

'' Let's dance '' Mark says . '' May i be your partner ?'' says old woman Lucy coming upto Sophia's grandpa . '' Sure '' he replies . Sophia's Granny is mad at her . They both start dancing . '' Mom , let's dance '' says Harry .

Lucy's grandson comes upto Sophia . '' May i have this dance ?'' he says holding out his hand towards her . Sophia was unsure of whether to take his hand or not . '' Please '' he begged . '' Alright then '' she takes his hand .

They start dancing . Moving along the rhythm their bodies working along . '' Are you single ?'' he asks while dancing . '' Nope , '' she sternly replies . '' Is your boyfriend sweet ? '' he asks . '' Yes , he is he likes me much more than everything ''' she replies .

'' I see , you both love each othe i am jealous can i be your boyfriend the second one ? '' he asks winking at her . '' What '' she stutters .

Sophia's POV -

'' Who is this man ? who does he think he is ? here i am, having my patience dancing with him and he's doing this lemme show him who's he dealing with now '' .

'' Here i am thinking about what surprise Edward has for me and now he's proposing me '' .

'' What kind of a nerve he has ?'' '' Even though he knows i have a boyfriend but he's still doing this what kind of a sassy guy he is ?'' .

'' Man i wanna punh him in the face ,but he's old woman Lucy' s grandson , i can't do that with him '' .

'' Hey , can you hear me ? why aren't you answering ? '' he called out . Sophia was kinda unaware of what he's doing , '' Hey say something babe '' he called . '' Babe ''' she was awakened to reality again .

'' I want to be your boyfriend '' he calls again . '' Listen , mister '' she was about to mutter something . '' You won't be my partner ? '' he whispers in her ears . '' Don't you love me huh '' he says .

He takes his mask off a litle bit . '' Is that you Edward ?'' she says . '' Be quiet yes i am '' he replies . '' So this is the surprise you wanted to give me ?'' she says . '' Yes , it is '' he replies . '' You are the grandson of granny Lucy ?'' she asked in wonder .

'' Yes i am '' he says wearing his mask again . '' But you should have told me sooner why did you kept it a surprise from me until now ?'' she asks while dancing . '' Cause , i wanted to surprise you '' he says snugging into her neck .

'' Please , not here , everyone is watching '' she beggs . '' I forgot my bad '' he apologizes for his actions . Seeing them dance complimented Lucy '' you guys look so great together '' . '' Yeah , they seem made for each other '' her Grandpa remarks .

Sophia's Dad was also looking at them . He went near her Grandpa and took old woman Lucy's hand and started dancing . '' Hey , we were enjoying '' her Grandpa muttered . '' With whom will i dance with now '' he sighs

Her Granny Layla '' coughs '' . '' Wanna dance together ?'' he says asking for her hand . She nods and takes his hand . They dance together . While Sophia's Dad and Lucy were dancing , Lucy said looking at ` the pair dancing '' Sophia seems calm and quiet , she will make a good wife '' .

'' She's my proud daughter '' Harry replies . '' If you want to we can make this relationship with ours official one '' she says while dancing . '' What do you mean ?'' he asks . '' Your daughter can marry in our family and we will become relatives then '' she smiles .

'' But ... '' he mutters . '' I am not telling you to reply me soon , but think about it '' she says . '' Alright then '' he replies . Sophia and Edward were dancing together . '' Are you enjoying ?'' Edward asks her . '' Yes , a lot cause you are here '' she replies .

'' I am glad then '' he replies . '' I hope this moment lasts forever , but i have this feeling of certainty in my chest as if .... i have lost something deep in my heart '' she remarks . '' I don't know what is this feeling '' she mutters .

'' Maybe you are missing someone '' he comments . '' Maybe , my mom hasn't come maybe i am missing her maybe '' she replies . Edward pauses for a moment . ;''Hey what happened ?'' Sophia asks .

'' Oh, it's nothing don't you worry '' he replies . '' You alright right ?'' she asks . '' Yes , i am absolutely fine '' he replies '' why ?'' . '' Umm your eyes .... they looked half dead there for a second '' she remarked .

'' Oh , really i can't lose my composure there '' he thought to himself . '' Attention please , now we will eat dinner then i have one more surprise for you '' Lucy says shouting . Everyone stopped dancing and went to eat .

Sophia and Edward were eating together now . '' Will we still wear these masks ?'' asks Sophia . '' A reminder , no one is allowed to take the mask off till you leave your place '' Lucy giggled . '' That old grandma of yours she's what should i say too much energetic i should say '' remarks Sophia while eating .

'' I know , she acts like a child sometimes but she can do anything in our house we have many trophies and prizes of hers '' he replies . '' What about your parents ?'' she asked . '' They aren't alive anymore now only Granny and i are left in our family along with our Grandpa '' Edward replies .

'' Where is he today ?'' Sophia asks .'' He's sick bedridden that's why he couldn't come today '' says Edward . '' I see , but why do you live away from your Grandma and stay near our place ?'' Sophia asks . '' Maybe because i applied for college there and that place is too much away from here so rented a flat there and lives there alone '' he replied .

Sophia noticed that Edward hasn't taken a bite at all since she started eating . '' Why aren't you eating ?'' she asks . '' I am eating '' he insisted . ''No you aren't eating let m feed you '' she said feeding him with fried chicken .

''No i am eating '' he says and tries to protest against her . Sophia still tries to force him . Just when he smelled the chicken he could feel the bloody meat from it and he threw it away saying '' get it away from me '' .

The chicken piece fell down onto the mattress . '' What happened Edward ? why did you do this ?'' she states . '' I ........... i ''' he stutters . '' Why did you thew it away ?'' she asks . Everyone was looking at them . '' What happened dear ? '' Lucy asks coming towards them .

'' It's nothing ..... i just don't feel like eating meat today ... i will manage with vegetables '' he stutters . '' Alright then '' Lucy replies ''' everyone finish eating the next event will start '' .

All start chatting and talking again . Sophia remained silent all throughout the party then . '' Why did he behaved like this ? '' she thought to herself '' doesn't he like me feeding him or something ''? . Everything made her more and more depressed .
