Chapter 7 A new friend

1668 Words
After Sophia's call, Meirah took a shower and wore a normal dress. Meirah never went to a pub, so she didn't dress according to how people who go to a pub dress in General. Also, she had never dared to wear skimpy clothes before or now, due to Lucian and her position as Luna. Yet today she wanted to push Lucian, her position, and all the restrictions around her. And she indeed rebelled. She looked beautiful and stunning in her dress, even though it was out of place. Even though her dress was normal and she looked like a woman who knew nothing about anything, her gentle face with a little bit of fat still attracted men. When a man passed by her, they would stare at her for a few seconds. To the eyes of men, she looked refreshing, and delicate, which they wanted to protect. Meirah stood at the entrance of the bustling bar, a hint of trepidation in her heart. Even though Meirah agreed to come, now she frets about going in. She felt scared looking around. Women arrived in skimpy clothes, while men were rubbing themselves on them. She had yet to enter the pub, but these people had already shown her something that made her terrified. She had agreed to join her friend Sofia for a night out, but as she looked around at the trendy crowd, she couldn't help but feel a bit out of place in her usual casual attire of jeans and a graphic T-shirt. "Meirah, where are you coming in? I am near the counter," Sophia called her and said. "Okay," Meirah said. God! Hell with the fear. She wanted to do something for herself out of Lucian Rudolph's and the Pack Luna's context. Taking a deep breath, she entered the bar and walked towards the crowd. She looked around for a few minutes before spotting her best friend, Sofia. Unlike Meirah, Sofia looked stunning in her Barbie pink skirt, which seemed to glow under the club lights. Sofia's pink-painted lips, the swell of her bust, and the curve of her waist were accentuated, making men gulp their saliva at her sight. She looked like a seductive queen. Meirah couldn't help but admire her friend's confidence and her beauty. She flipped her black hair back, which made her arch her back for a few seconds. In these few seconds, there were men who drooled just at her simple action. While Sofia was unaware and unbothered about those men and their actions. "Wow, Sofia, you look amazing!" Meira complimented, a mix of anger and self-consciousness in her voice. Sofia grinned, playfully teasing her friend. "Thanks, but I think you should've worn something more daring. You look a bit too much like a nerd for this scene." Meirah blushed, feeling slightly embarrassed but knowing that Sofia meant no harm. "Yeah, I guess I am bad at getting dressed. Maybe I should have taken your guidance," she admitted with a shy smile. Sofia, ever the prepared one, pulled out a small packaging bag from her purse. "Don't worry, I had a feeling you might feel a little out of place. So I already made arrangements for it," Sofia said as her eyes glinted with mischievousness. "What did you do?" Meirah asked with a guarded expression. "What's with the reaction? Why do you give that expression to me?" Sofia asked, acting offended and playing along with Meirah. "When you say you made arrangements, then it means it's trouble," she said with a shrug as if she spoke about someone else but not herself. "I feel hurt because of hurt. Oh my, my heart hurts." Sofia started her million-dollar drama act. "Enough now. I am fine and adjusting to the environment. What is it you've got for me?" Meirah asked with a smile. This was the first time Meirah came to the bar, and she felt overwhelmed with the men and women in skimpy or no clothes. And the lights and the music—her body was like she couldn't take it. Goosebumps rose constantly due to the fear of new places and the environment. Meirah knew Sofia played along just to make her comfortable. She was glad to have Sofia as her friend. "I know you would dress like Grandma. So, I brought something just for you," she said, revealing a beautiful silver sequin skirt. Meira's eyes widened in surprise. "Oh, I couldn't possibly wear that," she protested. Sofia shook her head, holding up the skirt against Meirah's outfit. "Nonsense! Trust me, it'll look perfect on you. Just give it a try," she urged. Hesitantly, Meirah agreed. She followed Sofia to the restroom to change, and as she put on the shimmering skirt, she couldn't believe her eyes. It was as if the skirt was made for her, hugging her curves in all the right places. She twirled around, feeling a surge of confidence she hadn't experienced in a while. "Oh, Meira, you look stunning!" Sofia exclaimed, clapping her hands in delight. Feeling grateful for her friend's support, Meirah thanked her warmly. "I never thought I could pull off something like this. You really are something making me do all the sinful things." "I will take that as a compliment," Sofia said proudly to Meirah. Meirah just shook her head, feeling speechless. Nevertheless, there was a smile on her face. Later, Sofia took Meirah to the dance floor. The music was loud, and the lights were a whirl of colors, overwhelming her senses. Despite her initial hesitation, she found herself gradually getting into the rhythm, swaying and moving to the beat. As she made her way through the crowd, however, she accidentally stepped on someone's foot. "Oh, I'm so sorry!" Meirah apologized, looking up to find a very handsome man staring back at her. The man's frown softened as he saw Meirah's sincere expression. "It's alright. No harm done," he replied in a smooth, soothing voice. "I really should be more careful," she mumbled, feeling flustered. "It happens to the best of us," the man assured her with a friendly smile. "I'm Owen, by the way." "I'm Meirah. Nice to meet you, Owen," she replied, grateful for his understanding. As they engaged in small talk, Meirah couldn't shake the feeling that she had seen Owen somewhere before, but she couldn't quite place him. They talked as if they were old friends. Sofia, who had returned to Meirah's side, introduced herself to Owen, and the three of them chatted amicably. Amidst their conversation, a woman suddenly appeared beside Owen, her presence captivating and graceful. "Owen, there you are! I've been looking for you," she said, her voice dripping with charm. Seeing Camila here Meirah was surprised to see her. Lucian didn't even allow her to go to this place, but Camila was there. She felt upset that he restricted her. She thought he didn't trust her; that's why he wants her to stay back in case she blurts out that she was Luna. Camila glanced at Meirah, surprise evident in her expression, but she quickly masked it, she pretended not to know her. "Owen, why don't you accompany me to dance?" Camila asked as she held his hand and moved closer to him. Her breasts touch his arms, making him immediately retract his hands from Camila's hold. "Meirah, would you like to honor me with a dance?" Owen asked like a gentleman, forwarding his hand towards her. Meirah hesitated for a moment, glancing at Sofia, who gave her an encouraging nod. Taking a deep breath, she placed her hand in Owen's, feeling something in her heart. It was not a romantic feeling, but a feeling of family. Maybe she was just overthinking. "I'd love to," she replied with a smile, and together, they moved to the center of the dance floor. As she walked to the dance floor, she saw Camila's ugly expression on her face. She doesn't know why Camila would want to be close to Owen. She finally got together with her fated Mate, Lucian, at the expense of breaking her marriage, yet she was here with another man. Even though the man was not showing interest in her, she was definitely trying to get close to him. Meirah had many doubts about Camila's behavior just now. But Meirah pushed aside all thoughts as she entered the dance floor with Owen. As the music pulsed around them, Meira and Owen danced, their bodies swaying in sync. The loud beats seemed to fade into the background as they lost themselves in the moment. They talked, laughed, and shared stories as if they had known each other for much longer than just a few minutes. Meira felt Owen was a charming, intelligent, and genuine person. His smile was so pure that she felt that he was the purest and kindest soul that existed in this world. Unbeknownst to Meirah, back at the bar, Camila watched them from afar, her expression a mix of jealousy and frustration. She couldn't understand why all the men seemed to be attracted to this useless Meira, who was so weak and couldn't even protect her pup. First, it was Lucian, and now it was Owen. She gritted her teeth as she gazed at them. Camila noticed they were both talking, laughing, and genuinely enjoying the time together. With every passing second, her jealousy rose to a higher level. Just then, she got an idea. A wicked smile crept on her face as she looked at the two people dancing on the dance floor without any care in the world. Immediately, She pulled out her phone, discreetly taking a picture of Meira and Owen dancing together. With an evil chuckle, she sent the photo to Lucian. Meira was unaware of the things that Camila plotted behind her back, as she was so immersed in her happiness and living in the moment. Seeing, Meira enjoying Sofia, she let out a sigh of relief. With that, she went ahead and had fun.
