CHAPTER 05: MISTRESS
Griffin's P. O. V.
What a tiring day it is. We just finished attending five consecutive meetings in a row. Being his personal assistant, I could feel his headache because I am suffering it too. Luckily, we are now heading to His Palace.
Yes, you've heard it right, palace. Master Caleb Guillermo is the only heir of The Guillermo's. And by means of The Guillermo's, it speaks about money and power. Their family comes from a wealthy ancestor: wit, talent, looks, and fortune.
Their tradition is only to bear a single child so that only one could inherit all the wealth that is being passed from generation to generation when the time comes. This is the only downside of their family. Greedy. If I may say. But for them. It was a tradition. The tradition that made them well-known and wealthy.
But the odds weren't in favor of the twentieth generation of The Guillermo's, which happens to be Caleb's Mother and Father.
Master Damon Guillermo and Mistress Beatrice Guillermo.
So, the decision is in need to make.
"Master, should we take the shortcut?" I asked while I still keep my eyes on the road. The sun is hot outside as the car aircon's have been turned to the maximum level. It is still peeking through the window—sweats formed on my forehead. As I look to the front mirror, I saw Master Caleb wiping beads of sweat.
"Anywhere that will take me home," he timidly responded. Without hesitation, I drove the car and take the shortcut way. I've never been to this road. Might as well take the risk. Who knows? Maybe it would be a fun and adventurous ride for us. With this, we'll be able to lessen the heat and sweat. And to reduce the chances of having a heatstroke.
Argh! The heat is on. It made my skin produced more sweat. Given the fact that I'm wearing this royal type of outfit. As required because I'm his personal assistant.
While the car drove to the shortcut, Master and I were like on a trampoline. We keep on bouncing and bouncing from our chair as the road had a lot of holes. Dang.
Luckily, the back tire got exploded. Hurrah! What a nice day to explore the tire on the road that we've never been to. The car's explosion was earsplitting. Causing me to be afraid.
"Master, are you alright?" I turned around and asked him worriedly. I think he's okay. He just pulled a smirk and said.
"You sound like an old lady. Don't worry. I'm way more fine," he said while shaking his head. He seemed unbothered. Master Caleb continued playing on his phone. Such a childish thing for him.
I immediately went outside to check how bad the back tire looks like. Any sharp objects don't cause the explosion. It's just the tire's longevity isn't that long. Guess these expensive car materials weren't quite heavy-duty. They are fooling us. I bet we are only buying their company name but not the service.
I knock on the car's window where he is seated. "Master, I'm afraid to say that the tire exploded in an unfortunate way," he raised a brow at me.
"Fix it then. I don't want to be stuck in here till dawn," he plainly said. The boredom is sensible in his tone. Typical of him.
"Yes, Master" I bow down after I heard his command. "Do you need anything else, Master?" God. My work is so tiring. The rays of the sun are peeking through my attire.
"Buy me some food. Anything that is edible," his stomach made a sound. I nod.
I turned around, hoping that I will be seeing a miracle today, and luckily I found someone. I see a girl and a boy looking in our direction, and it kind of looks like they are eavesdropping on us.
As they saw my gaze on them. They immediately act like they were talking together.
Oh, come on! You're caught in the act already!
Afterward, here we are inside Blaire's Café Store. She named it Sip and Dine Café Store. I was mesmerized by the structure of her store. It is indeed unique and elegant at the same time. As much as I wish to make this day good and relaxing even just a bit, Master Caleb is back again with his childish games.
I saw how he checks on Blaire. He assesses her just like his toys. But I can see that Blaire wasn't that type of person. There's something about her that captivates everyone's attention. She does things simply, yet there's always something about her that will make your head turn.
Indeed, she's a head-turner.
We sat down at the empty table and ordered food. Basically, I was the one who ordered for the two of us. Master Caleb was busy checking on Blaire's appearance. He stopped at looking in her chest. Master Caleb smirked. Blaire felt the stare that made her uncomfortable.
I diverted their attention by ordering food. Luckily, things were seemed to subside. Blaire abruptly leaves us on the table as soon as she got our orders.
I mentally facepalm. "Master?" I grumpily asked.
"What now?"
"What was that?"
"What do you mean 'What was that?' Huh?"
King of denial as always.
I sighed out loud. "Look, we are here to eat," I paused while looking at him. He seemed to be listening, but I ain't sure if he meant it. "And? What's next?" I groaned in frustration
"Uh! Blaire's not that type of girl," I exaggeratedly said. "I never said anything!" He defensively said as a smirk crept through his lips while placing his hands on the table.
Argh! This man is getting on my nerves! We've been discussing about him getting married. He still insists not to because he believes that he's too young for it.
But boy! As his butler/friend(at some point)/ his cousin, it is my duty and responsibility to find a girl that he will be settling with.
If I can't find him a wife, then I will also suffer his consequences.
Both of us will be forever single!
And I don't want to end up on that! I need someone that will take care of me and will raise my child. If Caleb wants just to be single forever, well, I don't!
I angrily looked at him. I know this could end up a fight with us, but I'm down with it. If it means that both of us will get married, then fine!
"You know that I'm doing this for you, right? I'm doing you a favor. A huge. Big. And big favor," I said while gritting my teeth. My hands gesticulated.
He huffed and rolled his eyes at me. "I never asked you to do me one,"
"But it is the rule,"
"Then f**k the rules," he said while throwing hands on me. As expected, he was irritated by this topic.
Hmmm. I guess I need to pull one of my strings. I smirked eerily at the back of my mind.
"You know you're not getting young day by day, Caleb. You should act your age and take charge of your responsibilities."
I said loudly enough so that Blaire may hear us. I'm sorry, Master, but you left me with no choice! "Hey! Watch your words, you abominable t**t. I'm still your Master," he irately replied.
"Well, I don't care. I will only respect you as my Master if and only if you act one. But right now, all I see is an old man playing his obnoxious games once more," and bam! All bets are off for me.
Here he goes.
A loud thump echoed in the store. He's like a baby having tantrums.
How did we become cousins? I mentally shake my head while still giving him a resting face and crossed my arms. The more you're scared of him, the more he will scare you. But not for me!
He formed his hands into fists and was about to punch me. I showed him no signs of fear. Well, it is a win-win situation.
I'm just praying that Blaire would catch our attention, and if she won't then, I will be walking out of this store with a broken nose.
"Gentlemen! Your orders are here!"
Thank God from the heavens above! Blaire's voice occupied the empty store. But boy, oh boy! Master Caleb is still persistent in punching me in the face.
Dang! This would be much of a pain! I guess I need to pull one last string. I playfully smiled at him, "Do it! So she can witness it,"
I know I would be in real danger right now, but I'm still here! Risking myself, as always.
"He-Hey! Is everything alright in here?"
My ears are clapping in triumph. I immediately sighed silently in relief after hearing Blaire's voice. Thank God!
No one answered her question. "O-okay! So here are your orders, gentlemen," she said while placing our orders at the table. "Enjoy your meal! Excuse me," she hurriedly leaves us
Before Blaire would be out of our sight, I spoke loudly enough to ease the tension and give Blaire something to eavesdrop on.
"Master, please. Take time to think about what I told you. I meant every word I said," I humbly asked him.
He intently looked at me, and after a few seconds, I heard him sighed in defeat.
"Fine. Now eat"
We ate in silence. Neither one of us spoke.
I understand that he doesn't want to get married because he's afraid of commitment. He just wanted to live his life with no strings attached, just merely having fun.
He's also afraid that no one would love him seriously and that every girl he knows is only after his money. I pause eating and drinks water.
Marriage is the essential part of their tradition and passes the wealth to their only child. I don't want to suffer the consequences of Caleb not getting married because it only means that I, as his butler, will also have no right to marry.
I will stay single until my Master finds his or her partner. Dang! I badly want to impregnate someone.
"Thank you so much, Blaire! Your food was indeed a lifesaver and satisfying. Plus the ambiance, uh, it's so worth it. I certainly felt relaxed and comfortable eating with your café store," I said while handing the p*****t to Blaire.
It's only the two of us in here. Master Caleb was already outside talking with Baldwin and his crew in regards to fixing the car
"I'm glad that you find satisfaction in our store as well as our food. I'm hoping to see you again soon to dine with us. Here's your change," she said while handing me the change.
"Oh no! That's Master Caleb's tip for you."
"But you already gave me one a while ago? Isn't this too much?" She laughed awkwardly
"Nothing is too much for you, Mademoiselle. You are perfect and fine. You certainly fit to become a Mistress," I proudly said. But her reaction is way different than what I am expecting.
"Ka-kabet? Kerida? Bagay akong maging Kabet? Abay Gago ka pala eh!" Anger is audible in her tone.
I immediately shook my head "N-No not 'that' Mistress. What I meant about it is that you fit to be something personified as a female that rules, directs, or dominates," I smiled sheepishly to her.
Blaire's head went from up and down. "Oh! Okay"
"In short, a woman who has power and authority."
I saw her eyes widened in amusement " W-Wait! Do you understand the Filipino language? Do you understand what I said a while ago?"
I coyly laughed
"Sort of hehe."
"Oh my God! I'm such a mess. I-I'm sorry," she said while facepalming
"No biggies. Anyway, I should head now,"
I felt Master Caleb's sharp glare at us
"Th-Thank you," I went out of the store and drove Master's Sports Car. Baldwin and his crew are the ones who are in charge of the broken car.
"Master, I believe Blaire is the one" I'm driving ourselves safely, heading to Master Caleb's Palace.
"The one for me or the one for you? Huh! You son of a b***h!" I laughed inwardly.
Hmmm... Wait, do you smell it? Cause I smell it. Jealousy!
I can't help but laugh out loud at Master Caleb's nag. "Of course, Master, for you!"
"Really?" He doubtfully said, and the annoyance on his face is visible.
Oh, come on! I shake my head in disbelief while laughing. "Look, if you won't believe me, that's fine. But rest assured it's all yours,"
"She should be!"
"Okay. Okay. Take a deep breath. Chill Master," felt nice to drive his Maserati. Fast and smooth. After about fifteen minutes we've arrived at the place where I called. Loneliness.
Finally! We've arrived at his palace. Hah! What a tiring day it is.
