Riley.
I tried so hard to suppress my expression, seeing the last person that I had expected to run into this soon. “So you do recognize me.” Charles narrowed his brows, before he offered me a seat.
There is no use of acting as if I didn’t when I gave myself out in the first place. “I have looked everywhere for you, I think you should have to me sooner.”
Right now, I think the man that I am staring into his eyes has some mental issues. “Look, I don’t know what you are talking about.” I told him, sitting uptight.
I can’t sit comfortably in the same room with him, especially when there could be a chance of Zelia walking through that door and she would see me.
There is enough time for me to get ready to meet them. “I gave you my card that day and I told you to call me.” Charles recalled.
“I must say you do have a very retentive memory, but I must break it to you that I had thrown that card away. If I had an idea that you were the boss, I would have never come here.” I let him know.
The name of the company didn’t really ring a bell. Except he had changed the name and also the concept of the company.
Hudson Creative co. Is a branding company for all I could remember. I didn’t really do much research on the CEO or anything after seeing the pay, it was all that mattered to me.
While Charles company’s name is SohoTech Innovations. I’d certainly remembered when Zelia was telling me more about it, how he had come up with the name. “I am glad you had no idea. I am happy to see you, Riley.”
He had a creepy smile on his face that I had wanted to clear. No matter how good he had made me feel that night, better than Noah, I couldn’t bring myself to be in the same space with him.
I feel so much disgusted of myself. “It is sad that I don’t miss you and I think I would love to resign.” I uttered.
The job comes with a lot of benefits, one that i would spend years saving up for. In a two months or three, I could be able to afford a car and move back to my house.
But with Charles around, I can’t. It will only keep reminding of that night and soon, I would run into Noah and Zelia, which means that I need to hide my babies away. I don’t want them to meet any one of them.
“Sadly, it can’t happen. Unless you are ready to pay the company for damages.” He smirked.
Now, I see the game that he is trying to pull. If someone should hear of what had happened between us in the past, they would think that I had pulled the strings to be here. “I can get another job and pay for whatever damages you are claiming I have made when I am yet to resume work.” I said bravely.
Brian should be proud of me when he hears that I didn’t coward back and run out of here after finding out who the CEO is. He’d pat my hair and be sure to buy me food.
“Why don’t you want to stay, Riley?” He questioned, being serious.
I inhaled deeply. The answer is straightforward and short, enough to let people see why I can’t stay around him but I can’t let him know that. “Because it is you, I don’t want to be around you.” I responded, pointing at him.
“There is something about you that doesn’t settle with me. And besides, that night was just a mistake. I had only wanted someone to make me feel good so that I will forget that scumbag, not for me to get detached to.”
I hissed lowly when I realized that words were harsh, if Charles was the time to break down easily, then he would have been different by now. “So, I am sorry for wasting your time.” I ended, standing up on my feet.
Just like that, I am letting job with a good pay go. I headed towards the door, feeling satisfied that I had ended things way and if I should run into Charles again, he wouldn’t want to act like he knows.
“Stop, Riley.” Charles demanded, his voice authoritative. “Don’t you dare step out of this room.”
I got rooted to the ground, my feet deceiving me as I attempted to walk. I was just close, a single lunge forward and I will fall on the door.
Behind me, I could feel him taking fast stripes to me, until his body was pressed against mine and he bared my neck, nuzzling his nose in between. “What are you doing?” I finally croaked, sucking in.
“You see, I can’t seem to forget about that night and I want more.” He informed, pressing his erection into my lower back.
Fuck, I can’t be affected by him. That night was a mistake, it is a mistake and I am so stupid for letting myself get tangled with him, because now, my body is trying to deceive me.
His tongues trailed around my collar bone, while his hands kept me in place, digging deep into my hips. I am sure that by the time I get home, it is going to feel a mark.
The telephone on his desk beeped then went immediately into voicemail. “Daddy, could you please call me when you see this?”
I’d recognize that voice wherever that I heard it. The voice that I had always looked up to, the same one that had always given me life changing advice and ideas, and I naively took it, not knowing that the owner of that voice is going to stab me in the back.
“What a way to kill an erection.” Charles mumbled against my skin, before letting me room.
I rushed out of the room, without turning back, even when his assistant kept on calling me back.
What the f**k just happened now?
