Charles. Depressed and pathetic, the two perfect words to explain how I am truly feeling right now. But I can’t help it. Sending that text to Riley, which was to serve as a threat was all I could do. The only game that I have up my sleeve to get her to meet me. Convincing her to be a surrogate might have to come later, maybe after I have gotten her to agree to work under me. Then everything would be perfect for me and my angel. Heaving out a sigh, I took a sip of the cocktail served to me. Luckily, I don’t easily get knocked out so I will late until I am done with Riley. It is late but I don’t care, I will be returning to D.C tomorrow and I will be taking Zelia with me to join Noah there, so it would be a long day for me, especially that I didn’t get to retire for the day early. “Do you need anything sir?” the waitress asked. “No, when the lady is here, send her up.” I repeated, just as I had told her ten minutes ago. I am sure that Riley would honor my invitation, since she wouldn’t want to have me in her home. Her words say that she hates me but could that be a lie that she is putting up to get away from me? Or she truly hates me. Only time would tell that. “Sure sir. I would be a call away if you need anything.” With that, the lady walked out of the private room. I sank back into the chair, enjoying the soft melody playing around the private room. A business partner had built this community some years back, which had made him tons of money. The community was meant for only those that were rich and known globally to own a membership. Most of those rich people have their shady activities here, they have securities guarding them and covering up for them, that no one questions them. While as for me, it is only a place that I come to when I feel out of the place, it helps me calm. “I don’t think that I would be calm for the rest of the month or rest of my life, if I don’t give Zelia what she wants and what she deserved.” I thought. We could walk into any orphanage and adopt any kid right, but I mean, that would be labeled as shady, given my position in the society. I need someone that we can all trust, someone that wouldn’t go back on their words and make things difficult for all of us at the end of the day. It isn’t too much to ask but it is getting really difficult for us. Because it felt like all of a sudden, there isn’t any good person willing to help without having any plans for money extortion or taking the kid away when Zelia and her husband are used to him. I took a peek at my watch, seeing the time that I had given Riley had expired and I was serious about it when I had told her that she would find me at her place if she doesn’t come now. I don’t care about the traffic that I will meet while going there, or how I am trying to invade her privacy. Deep in thoughts, I didn’t even hear when the door had opened until I heard her voice. “Do you really have to keep going on to this extend?” Riley asked, her voice showing how irritated she sounded. “What do you think?” I opened my hands widely, which had only seemed to anger her more. “Have a seat.” I offered pointing at the empty chair. Riley scoffed, folding her hands. “I really didn’t come here to dine and dance with you.” She uttered sarcastically. “just tell me the reason why you had me here so that we can both call it a day.” Feisty, the reason why I truly can’t get my mind off her. She doesn’t even seem like the girl that I had spent a night with, but I do understand. She was in the heat of the moment that night, which had made her act that way and there is nothing more to that. “Then you can keep standing. The choice is yours.” “And for the reason why I had called you here, I am sure that you do know that. Come and work for me, Riley.” I told her softly. There was an expression on her face that I couldn’t truly read, it was there trying to pass a message yet I failed to get it. “I will pay you any amount that you want. I don’t care how much you are going to request but I promise that I will give it to you.” I assured her. If that is the only me that I can get her, then I wouldn’t mind. It means that I am going against my words that I had said money can’t buy some people. It can’t but it wouldn’t hurt to give it a try at this time. “I see what you did there. Doe that include you transferring everything that you own to my name?” “As much as that is ridiculous, I wouldn’t mind to give you everything.” “You are sick in the head and you have no one to tell you. I should let you know that whatever you have to offer me to take this job, I must reject it. I don’t want to work with you or ever see you again.” She said and she meant it. “Whatever it is that you think you need me for, you can get someone else for that, but as for me, you need to let me have the peace that I deserve. Thank you.” “And again, don’t call me again or text me. Because the next time that you do, I will be turning up with a restriction orders since you are trying so hard to prove that you are sick in the head.” She insulted before turning on her heels.
