Chapter 17 Fates Learned

Samantha POV

I am sitting at the head of the table as everyone files into the conference room. Asher and his family all sit on my right while father, the boys and their mates, as well as Cheyenne, Mike and the twins. Cheyenne  walks up and hands me the closed manila envelope.

“Well now that the pack has submitted to you I believe you may want to know what you are.” She says with a smile and I sigh putting the paperwork down in front of me.

“I am sorry about what just happened out there guys but before I read this I feel there are somethings that need to be discussed” I say with my eyes closed

“So I have been thinking of what happened the morning of my accident” I begin and I feel Asher take my hand and give it a squeeze.

“As I ran out of the room I had ran into Drake’s father in the office on the way out the front door and I believe he heard everything that was said that day. I remember Drake at the time had asked me if I would consider being his chosen mate instead of us waiting to find out if I had one even. Of course the minute I knew Asher was my mate I turned him down flat and we have no feelings for each other now however Tine said she smelled rogues on Whitefoot this evening. I have a feeling he was trying to use Drake and myself as a way to take control of the pack. What do you guys think?” I ask.

“Well he was there when we fought the rogues the morning before we came to the school so he knew they were after Asher and if he knew he could take you out since he couldn’t have you that would not surprise me.” Blaine says and dad slams his fist into the table.

“That bastard. After I let him into the pack when he started that fight with us. He surrendered way to easily I should have known he had something up his sleeve.”  Dad says with a grimace.

“We will just have to interrogate him later Mark. After what he has said about your mate and daughter I have a feeling you will want to add a few hits to him as well.” Asher says and I raise a brow.

“Oh? And why will you be helping with the interrogation?” I ask him.

“Because he threatened the one thing I hold dear and I will not stand for that. I know you can hold your own but that does not mean I cant handle things before they get to the point were you need to defend yourself.” He tells me while looking at me dead in the eyes and rubbing circles on my hand with his thumb.

‘see I told you he loves us and understands us. Selene was right about him after all’ Tine says and I can almost see her wagging her tail next to me. I have to take a double take and jump out of my seat causing everyone to look at me.

“What’s wrong?” Asher asks getting up in concern.

“Do you guys not see her?” I ask and they all shake their heads.

“See what Sam, what are you seeing?” Cheyenne asks me.

“The big white wolf with black tipped ears!” I say pointing where she WAS but now she is gone. I shake my head. Why am I seeing things

“I think we should open the results because after what you just said I believe you are seeing your wolf.” Mike says and I shake my head.

“But what will this change. I am the oldest so to speak but I don’t want to be Alpha. I am mated to Asher and we are supposed to rule as king and Queen.” I say in a panic.

“And you will. Cody will take the Alpha position like we had already planned hun, everything will be okay I promise.” Mark says and I let out a sigh. But before I could open them Megan comes running into the room

“Alpha and your highness I am so sorry for bugging you but there is the oracle Iris who is here sir’s and she is saying it is extremely important.” She says.

“Who is Oracle Iris?” I ask.

“She is a 1000-year-old Oracle that has traveled the world and she has close ties to the moon goddess and Gaia as well.” Kat says and I can see the sparkle in her eye. She must really look up to her.

“Bring her in we have met with her before and she knows a lot about everything.” Rowen says and Megan brings in Iris.

“Greeting to you Alpha king Denmark, Queen Luna Jamie and Alpha Mark.” She says with a bow but as soon as her eyes land on me she snaps down to her knees and bows lower. Everyone looks as confused as I am and we all seem to stop breathing when she talks.

“Greetings Mother Gaia, I have been waiting my whole life for you to return to the surface.” She says and all eyes are on me.

“I’m sorry what did you just say and please get up and sit at the table.” I say.

“Your grace, I came to your mother Maria 17 years ago not long after  I found out she was expecting you. You are the daughter with royal blood that the Moon Goddesses Mother Gaia was born into. As soon as you turn 17 you will fully bloom and you will need the help of Megan to control your new found powers. There is a prophecy and this is what it says.” She clears her throat and began.

“I shall bless a Virgin human with the reincarnation of the goddess of the earth,

and said child will be the ruler of all werewolf kind.

This child shall be feared by all. She shall heal quickly as to never be killed.

She shall remain immortal, and shall she have a mate, he will be immortal as well.”

“You are the Mother Goddess and shall rule permanently.” She tells us and at this time I am white as a ghost. Everyone is looking at me and I do not know what to say.

“How is this possible and why did Maria never tell me.” Mark asks shaking his head. As bazaar as this all sounded he knew like everyone else here that when an oracle speaks it is nothing but truth. How can this be and why.

“Actually Alpha Mark the reason for this is because she is being targeted by her father, he wants to use her to assume the thrown and he is going as far as to try and kill her mate to do that.” She tells dad.

“What do you mean kill me?” Asher says.

“He wants the only male hair of the royal family to be killed and he will take his own daughter to be his Mate so he can live for eternity as you would.” She tells Asher I become physically ill at the thought of is. I place a hand on my stomach with dry heaves as Cheyenne comes running over to me.

“I am sorry alpha I have something to admit” Megan says with her head bowed low.

“What is it mom? What did you do?” Kat asks with tears in her eyes as Eli holds her.

“Maria came to me not long after Samantha was 3 and had me put a spell on her.” She says still bowed.

“What type of spell?” Mark asks in a cold tone.

“A spell that would prevent her biological father from being able to find her even if he uses another which however every 14 years I need your mothers blood to re seal it. And the 14 years ends on your birthday this year.” Megan has looked up at this point and I can see the tears in her eyes. I can tell mother made her keep this a secret from dad or he would have tried to hunt this bastard down at all costs.

“She gave you the Luna order not to tell anyone didn’t she?” I ask before dad can blow up and she nods her head.

“I must go Alpha but I will leave you with this. You know I cannot interfere with the fates plans however I can give you clues. You and the King know who he is and why he wants what he wants, he has what is yours but now has no use for it, he knows where Samantha is now and he is coming. However in the next 12 hours there will be someone on your front door and I can promise it will not be an allusion. Also the man you once trusted knows more than you think but not of what you think he knows.” After that she disappears in a cloud of purple smoke. I am left there falling to my knees. Everything I had thought I had known was over and my life had changed. I hear Dad yelling orders and I can hear someone calling my name but everything seems gone. I seem lost and can’t seem to focus. I feel Asher’s arms around me and the world stops. He wants to kill  my mate. He wants to take what I hold dear from me. I see red as I raise to my feet and head for the front door. I make it outside with everyone hot on my heals and I begin to pace back and forth,

“This is not happening.” I say as I stop facing them and I feel the wind grow around me.

“I know baby we will let nothing happen to you.” Asher says but I shake my head.

“That is not what I mean Asher. I mean I am not letting this happen. He will never hurt anything I hold dear to me. EVER!” I yell at the end and the wind picks up more. I feel Asher hug my back and I begin to calm down and the wind slows to a light breeze.

“We need to start on your training tomorrow after school” Megan says and I give her a questioning  glance.

“Well we would not wont you to burn the school down if someone makes you mad honey and mother Gaia has all of the elemental powers. You are indeed special.” She tells me and I nod.

Chey one last thing before we call it a night. Can you please open the results so I know what I am other than the reincarnation of mother earth?” I ask her and she nods. She runs back with the papers and lets out a sigh.

“You have a 50% gene pool for the goddess gene and 50% pool for the royal werewolf alpha blood.” She says looking at the paper work.

“I am going to look into the gene records for the royals to see if I can find any matches to it but that may take some time. Until then can you Alphas please think of who this person may be because he is from one of the two main blood lines and is someone who related to one of you. I will also need some results of your blood work Asher so I can see how alike you and Samantha are.” She says before walking away and before I know it I am being swept off my feet bridal style as Asher carries me into the pack house so we can get some rest. Father says he will be at morning practice like everyone else and wants both of us to interrogate Whitefoot with him.

Asher lays me in bed after helping me out of my clothing and snuggles into me and I fall into a deep dreamless sleep and for once I am happy about it.

Why can’t we just live a happy life, sometimes I just wish we could live without my fate being learned…..
