Chapter 16 Making Them Except Me

Mark POV

The young members of my pack do not know how to block their minds yet and that will be there downfall tonight. The whole assembly I could not believe what I was hearing. So many of them were laughing about her being with Asher, they were thinking it was a joke and felt bad for him. Others were saying to others that he will just take a mistress to be the rightful queen. Others were saying that she will make a pitiful queen of our kind with her being human. It took me everything I had not to tare into the young pups.

‘How can this pack be so disrespectful to our child’ Maximus my wolf asks.

‘You know as well as I do that it is because she is not my blood child but it doesn’t seem to matter how much we threaten them no one listens’ I tell him.

‘Looks like we will have to make a statement with Macy Gold tonight in front of everyone.’ He says with a growl.

‘Yes but I don’t want to create enemies from our pack that could turn on us’ I snarl back at him

‘I don’t care. I am worried about what the King told us she said about seeing a dark figure with green eyes only.’ Maximus growls at the thought of our lost mate. We know she is not dead but she is far away and it’s hard for me. But I manage. She is a strong woman and I know she can survive.

‘And the fact that someone like that is out there has me worried what would happen if they turn on us.’ I say.

‘Yes but Samantha will be safe if she leaves with the Royal family and from what Asher was saying he is taking Drake with them to be her guard’ I remind him as we head down to the main floor to meet people.

I have called a pack wide ball for every one of every age to come. I greet Cheyenne, Mike, Dawn and Liea who are the first to arrive.

“So how many mates are we introducing to the pack tonight?” Cheyenne asks me with a knowing smile.

“Well there will be Cody and Whitney, Eli and Kat, Samantha and Asher. Oh, beta Reece has a mate as well and you will never believe who it is.” I know she loves gossip and sure enough she already knows.

“I know I heard Drake is Reece’s mate. It will be interesting to see what his father has to say for that fact.” She says with a small smile. Many years back I used to take in a fair few members from the Whitefoot pack who had same s*x mates. I think this is good for him that his son has a male mate. I am happy for the two of them.

“Oh and I was wanting to know if you had Samantha’s blood work back yet?” I ask with a raised eye brow.

“Yes I do and I have brought it with me but I figured we all will sit down after the party to look at it. I haven’t even opened the results yet.” She says with a sad look in her eyes again.

“It doesn’t matter what she is she will still be the future Queen Luna no matter what.” I hear Jamie say behind me as she comes up and gives Cheyenne a kiss on each cheek.

“Yes she will and she will be amazing at it.” Rowen says with a smile.

“I always knew she was special and it will be good for her to get out of this pack.” Mike says breaking his silence.

“On that note Cheyenne you may want to make sure the pack hospital is stocked up on meds because after today Samantha will be in charge of training and I wont her to give them hell.” I tell her and she nods in compliance. I hear her gasp as I look down at my watch and I turn around in time to see Samantha coming down the stairs in a shin long navy-blue halter top that shows off her curves in only the good ways but not to much.

‘She looks so much like our dear Maria. She would be so proud of her.’ Maximus says and I nod in agreement.

Samantha POV

As we reach the end of the hall all of the mates were waiting. Whitney stood tall next to Cody in her long Silver gown that trained behind her and Cody looked slick in his 3-peace suit with a silver tie that matches Whit’s dress. Eli had his grey suit and black tie on while Kat had a midnight black dress on with a black rose lace overlay on top. Raina stood in a rose red dress next to Aaron in his suit with a tie to match as well. Drake and Reece both had there hair slicked to one side while the other was slicked to the opposite side. We descended the stairs with Asher and I in front. He had a full black suit with a black under shirt and a navy-blue tie to match my dress. I see Chey and she gasps making father look my way and I could have sworn I saw tears in his eyes. He comes over taking my hand and places a kiss on the back of it.

“You look so much like your mother dear.” Cheyenne says with tears in her eyes as well. The twins are behind her in matching green dresses that make them pop with their red hair and blue eyes.

“Do you like the make up we and Kat did it.” The twins say at the same time.

“Yes I do she looks so much older than she is but it is not to much.” Mike says

“I see Raina has given you the family jewels as well. They have been passed down for 7 generations now and hopefully you can give them to your sons mate when he finds one.” At Jamie’s comment I turn deep red and Asher sighs shaking his head. Dad laughs while Rowen elbows Jamie in the side.

“What I want grand pups.” She says with a shrug and we all laugh.

“Father there is still the matter of punishment that must be handed down tonight.” Cody reminds him and he nods.

“Yes I know and it will be settled tonight once and for all. You will be taking over training as well from tonight on Sam so please do not be shocked when I announce it.

‘well at least he gives us for warning unlike father-in-law’ Tine says and I snicker out loud causing them all to turn to me.

“Sorry guys, Tine says at least dad tells us when he is going to do something big unlike father-in-law and I couldn’t help but laugh.” I say causing my family and Asher to laugh but making his family look at me.

“Who is Tine?” Jamie ask before anyone else and Cheyenne answers for me.

“Tine is the voice who has been speaking to her since she had her accident. And on that note after the party I believe all us here need to sit down in the conference room because we finally have the DNA results back on your blood. I haven’t even looked at them yet, I thought you may want to be the one to do those honors.” Chey says and I nod slowly.

“Alpha, all of the guests are here and waiting for your arrival.” Alissa says.

“Let’s get this party started.” Asher says as we follow dad into the ballroom.

The main doors open but we all do not go in. Alpha Mark who is followed by Blaine and Alison go first. Behind him is Cody and Whitney, followed by Eli and Kat. The rest of us wait as father speaks.

“Thank you all for coming to this ball tonight. I have gathered us here for many reasons so let me start by welcoming the rest of our guest and the Royal family in as well.” He says with a bow to the door as the rest of us come in.

Alpha Rowen and Luna Jamie come in first followed by beta Aaron and princess Raina. Asher and I follow behind them and behind us is Reece and Drake causing many whispers and I see the face on Drakes father who is shocked and furious all at once.

“Many of you have Questions so let me start with this. I am announcing tonight that all three of my dear children have found there mates.” He says with a turn as we step forwards.

“First your future Alpha Cody Rider and Future Luna Whitney Anderson. Second we have your future Beta Eli Rider and his future Beta female Katrina Lewis. And last but certainly not least I give you your future King Alpha Asher Denmark and your future Queen Luna Samantha Rider.” At this the whole room lets out a gasp at the site of me standing over them next to Asher who’s hand I have mine placed over the top of as we had walked forward.

“That is not all either. Alpha Rowen Denmark has a few announcements to make as well.” And with that Rowen takes over.

“I am here to announce that your current Royal Beta, Aaron Mathews has found his mate as well. Your new Royal Beta Female is my daughter Raina Denmark. I am also proud to announce that my sons beta and brother to my beta has found his mate as well. I present to you future beta Reece Mathews and his mate Drake Whitefoot.” At this comment I see Drakes father storm to the front of the pack getting ready to make a scene. Reece must have noticed it to because he pushed Drake behind him and let out a low growl.

“This is unacceptable. There is no way that my son has a male mate. He is straight and I have never supported that type of behavior in my family or old pack.” He says with anger in his voice.

“Maybe that is the reason Selene placed him with a male mate because that is what he needs, there is no denying what the goddess has done and there is no way to break what they have.” Father states in the alpha tone but it does not work on him.

“I do not care he will be going no where with that man who more than likely has more diseases than a dead rogue.” To this comment I snap. A snarl of even more power rips through my lips causing everyone to shrink including the king and queen. I step in front of the whole group and walk up to Alpha Whitefoot.

“As I see it you have two choices. One, you can apologize for what you have just said about beta Reece and except the fact that he is your sons mate and pray I do not have the king and queen imprison you for disrespecting the Royal family. Or two, you can abandon your post as alpha and leave as a rogue from this pack. So what will you choose?” I ask giving him his option. I however did not use my Alpha tone that I am learning I have and soon regret it because he does one of the most stupidest thing anyone could have done.

“Who are you to tell me what to do you lowly omega human. You are no one in this pack or in this world. He will leave you soon and you will be left with nothing like you belong. Your mother was a w***e and it seems you are as well seeing as you have seduced the future king and knowing you, you got your little which friend who is this supposed new beta female of this pack, to put a spell on him and your brother. This pack will go to hell with her with the beta and you will never be fit to be Queen.” He snarls causing growls and gasps at his boldness but all I see is red.

“Fine, looks like I will be handing down two punishments tonight for this pack as father has said I could.” Lets move this outside.” I say.

As I am walking out I see Megan who is Kats mother and ask her to change my clothing, a little magic and I am in my all black tank top and shorts I use for training.

“MACY GOLD AND ALPHA WHITEFOOT” I yell in my Alpha tone. They both come forward and look at me in a sum what submissive position.

“I’ll give you one last chance. Rogue life or death. What is your choice?” I ask. Macy is the first to answer.

“I choose the life of a rogue, I do not wish for death.” She says in a whisper and I nod as father comes forward.

“I, Alpha Mark Rider, here by exile you to the life of a rogue. You are never welcome back here again or in the royal pack for your crimes against my daughter and our future queen. May the fates have mercy upon you.” And with that she runs for her life.

“Now Alpha Whitefoot what will you have.” I look at him dead in the eye and he challenges me.

“I choose the fight to the death.” As he bows to everyone.

“Your Highness will you start us please?” I ask Rowen and he looks at me with concern but I see Asher nod his head and he walks over to us.

“Understand this is a fight to the death, it is not over until the other person is dead or someone shows mercy. You may begin.” Rowen says and I shift into my fighting stance.

Whitefoot jumps in the air and shifts in no time at all but everything he does is slow again. He jumps and I dodge. He nips and I swerve it. He throws kicks, jabs and tries to pounce but misses every time. I grow tired of this and let Tine take over and before I know it I am hearing yelling coming from the crowd as I have him under me with a broken arm and leg. I roll off of him and drag him to the side where I see Drake standing.

“I will show mercy if you ask me to Drake, he is your father after all but he will live a life of slave hood in the hot works in the royal palace and be demoted to an omega.” I say with my hand placed on his head ready to snap his neck if I have to, but Drake nods and I release him. I bend down to his face and I speak lowly and in a harsh voice. But it is not my voice I hear coming out.

“Drake my have begged for your mercy but I can smell the rogues on you. Before you go to the smith-works you will be interrogated because I have a feeling you were the reason Drake wanted to be my mate and you are the one who told the rogues where I was that day I left the school.” At this statement he goes white and I already know we are on the right track.

Father has the guards take him to the cells and I feel as if I have all the power in the world. I walk over to the stairs leading back into the house and make my statement at the top.

“To all of you who doubted me before tonight know this, I will not stand for this kind of disrespect from anyone. I AM YOUR FUTURE QUEEN.” I yell and everyone goes to a knee.

“This party is over and be ready at 5am for pack training. The only people I do not want to see here are pups who have not shifted, mothers of these young pups, pregnant mothers and the elderly who cannot shift anymore. Its going to be one hell of a training day.” I say and I walk away with everyone in my party following me.

I am feeling strong now that I have made them except me.

Asher POV

I could not believe the sight I was seeing when she pushed in front of us to defend Drake. And then his father went and said what he said about Reece. I was beyond mad and was ready to jump at him because I knew Reece needed to be there for Drake. As we follow Samantha out with everyone else I see the witch who I believe is Kats mother change Sam into fighting clothing and I knew she was serious but I prayed she wouldn’t have to do it.

Macy agrees to go rogue and Mark mind links me and the worriers saying she has 2hours to get her stuff and leave, however Whitefoot is not as smart. He decides to fight to the death.

‘Son this is not a good idea you could lose your mate.’ Dad links me,

‘don’t worry she will do fine trust me. But I feel as if something is off. I may need to calm her down afterwards.’ I tell him and he starts the fight. He shifts fast but Sam moves faster as if he cannot even touch her. And then it happens, I see a change in her body and I know she lets Tine take over. Tine is nowhere near as gentle as Sam is and everyone else is seeing it now. She jumps at his leg in mid air and snaps it like it was nothing at all. As he falls to the ground shifting back she grabs his arm and breaks it over her leg like a stick and pins him down. As everyone gasps I see her body ease as Tine gives Sam the control back.

‘We will need to help Tine with her anger if she is a wolf like we think she is’ Xander says

She brings him over to Drake and asks if he wants mercy and when he shakes his head yes while turning into Reece I link father to prepare the worst job we can for him back on our lands. I walk up to Sam and I hear what she is saying to Whitefoot and I stop in my tracks.

“Drake may have begged for your mercy but I can smell the rogues on you. Before you go to the smith-works you will be interrogated because I have a feeling you were the reason Drake wanted to be my mate and you are the one who told the rogues where I was that day I left the school.” She says and he goes white.

‘Could he have been the mole.’ Xander asks.

‘I don’t know but we need to ask Drake some questions as well.’ I say back but before I could calm Samantha down she demands respect again.

“To all of you who doubted me before tonight know this, I will not stand for this kind of disrespect from anyone. I AM YOUR FUTURE QUEEN.” She yells and everyone goes to a knee including father and Aaron.

‘You now see why I say she will be fine?’ I ask father in the link.

‘Good goddess there is no way she is not a wolf with this power. It over powers me completely’ he says and we turn our attention back to her.

“This party is over and be ready at 5am for pack training. The only people I do not want to see here are pups who have not shifted, mothers of these young pups, pregnant mothers and the elderly who cannot shift anymore. It’s going to be one hell of a training day.” And she leaves with all 19 of us following her into the house and to the conference room.

I can still feel the power in the air as we walk through the house. She is so strong and she still has 2 weeks until she is 17. What others powers could she still hide?
