Chapter 18 My Training

Marks POV

All night I tossed and turned as I remembered Iris’s words. What did she mean by ‘You and the King know who he is and why he wants what he wants, he has what is yours but now has no use for it,’.

‘The only thing we are missing is Maria and if he is the one who has her who is he and why would someone close to us take her?’ Maximus asks me.

‘I have no clue but he will not be let off easily I promise you this.’ I tell him.

‘but what do we do about this person coming today?’ he asks.

‘I do not know. I am going to up patrols and guards to watch for someone but I don’t know what we are looking for.’ I say with a sigh as my alarm clock goes off and I get out of bed.

I get up at 3:30 this morning for training and the goddess only knows this is going to be one hell of a day and who knows if the pack will really do as Sam says. Then again, they all did submit so they know what she is capable of. We all stayed at the packhouse last night due to how late it had gotten. I walk down the hall of the floor our family stays on which is the 6th floor of the house.

‘If I were you Mark I would not just walk into the rooms knock first, Cody and Eli got a rude awakening a few days ago when they walked in on Sam and Asher.’ Maximus says with a laugh.

As I walk to Cody and Whitney’s room I notice Blaine standing there beet red in the face. The room he and his wife shared was right next door to mine while the kid's rooms were at the other end.

“Why are you standing here?” I asks almost stupidly cause I had a feeling on why he was so red.

‘CALLED IT’ Max says laughing in my head and I let out a chuckle.

“well, Blaine let’s just hope that he is not as fertile as I was or you will see pups by the end of the year,” I tell him as I pull him away from the door to go wake everyone else up. I make it to Eli’s door to hear Sam laughing on the floor with Asher standing next to the wall with one foot behind him and his arms folded over his chest. That reminds me so much of how his dad is ad used to be when he was younger. I look next to him to see Jamie lightly laughing while Rowen held her from behind shaking his head.

“What did I miss?” I ask watching as Sam crawls over to Kat who is red-faced in her workout clothes like everyone else. Kat is too embarrassed by whatever just happened and Sam is laughing too hard so Asher answers.

“Well, you see Sam wanted to wake everyone up since she was in such a good mood this morning after only 3 hours of sleep. She knocked on the door and Kat answered so Sam made a comment about not being an Auntie for pups from more than one of her brothers and Eli popped off by saying he has always been more of an overachiever than Cody. Sam fell to the floor laughing and causing Kat slide to the floor red-faced, as we see here.” He says while pointing to the two giggling girls laying on the floor.

“By the way how does she have so much energy. It’s as if she slept for the whole night.” Asher asks

“Honestly she has always been this. Every training day she is up first and makes sure the boys are up and ready to go as well, then she would go to school, come home, do the Omega work around the packhouse and our house, go on a night run and do all he school work before bed and still be ready by 4 am the next day. Even some of the weekends she would do training on her own between chores. She trains harder than most pack worriers.” I tell him with a sigh and I see his face fall a little.

‘he doesn’t like that she did all that omega stuff for sure.’ Max says with a whine.

“Believe me when I say I did not want her doing omega work as well but after what happened with her mother she Insisted that and she did not have a Wolf and then I considered her part of the Alpha family she needed to take on the place of an Omega servant. Trust me I did not want to do it any more than you, however, she would not take no for an answer.” I say to him.

After Samantha's laughing fit her calm down we all got ready to leave for training. Stop bashing with everybody else already in front of us heading towards the open field.

“I want you to watch Samantha and make sure she doesn't overdo herself or get too angry today. Also, I cleared it with the school so that the 2 of you have of the rest of the week and she will be able to train with Megan. I've set up new patrols and guards to watch the borders tonight because I do not know who will be coming feeling please keep her safe I know that's what her mother and I would've wanted.” I tell him and we head off to see how many people show up today.

Samantha POV

3 hours of sleep. That is all I need to feel like a whole new person, especially when I sleep in Asher’s arms. I wake up and do my morning routine and come bouncing back into our room.

“Asher baby it’s time to get up. We got some work to do to get this sorry pack into shape.” I tell him with a kiss on the cheek.

“Come back to bed it's only 3:25 am.” He says in a sleepy tone and I know the way to get him up.

‘Oh and I like that a lot’ Tine says and I blush. As I lean down and plant a kiss on his lips. He moans at this and kisses me back but I trail my kisses down his jawline and place my lips in the crook of his neck causing another moan mixed with a growl to come out of him. He snakes his arms around my waist and tries to pull me down but I stop my kisses and he looks at me with puppy eyes.

“Why did you stop” he whines and growled at the same time. And I pull away laughing.

“because we need to get up and if you want any more, you need to help me prove to these hypocritical wolves that I mean business and not to mess with me again.” I tell him

“oh? So I could get more?” he sits up with a sly grin and I blush.

“you know you will but not right now. Plus I don’t think you showed me all you have talent-wise.” I tell him with a wink as he walks off to the bathroom.

When he comes out I tell him I want to go make sure the boys are awake and we walk out into the hallway to the rooms. And I hear Whitney scream. As I look up from the floor I see Blaine standing there with his mouth hung open. I laugh knowing he just opened the door on the two of them. I, on the other hand, knock before trying to go in and Kat answers the door. I shoot her a knowing look and laugh at her.

“Look I know you two are mates but please I do not want to be an Auntie for pups from both my brothers before I even have pups of my own,” I say causing her to turn bright. Then I hear Eli in the room and he takes it to a whole new level.

“You know Sam I have always been an overachiever when it comes to challenging Cody. You never know we may have some before any of you.” He says and I begin laughing uncontrollably. I didn’t notice Rowen and Jamie come up until Jamie said she knows Mark would want them to finish school before they had pups and that went for Asher and me as well but I could not stop laughing extremely hard. Dad comes down the hall and we all head out the front door to the training field. Everyone but Jamie, Kat and I shift into wolves and take off. Jamie stays at the house watching us while Kat and I go for our run. As the wolves come back the rest of the pack file out of the house as well. Even though I told all the women with children and the elderly not to come out they still do and they sit with the queen and talk. I see her laughing and smiling and can only wish that mother was here to see this. I take charge right away and make everyone shift and go for a long run. When they come back they are already winded and I let out a laugh.

“Oh come on it was just a ran now let's get the real training started,” I say and everyone snaps to attention. I start with the basic defense training that everyone does okay with and then have everyone sit down as I begin to spare with the royal warriors. They all give me a good run for my money but I still beat all of them. Before I could train with Asher it is time for the students to leave to go to school and father tells me I am not going today so I can train with my magic side.

“So Megan, how do we start?” I asked after I got back from changing into an outfit she gave me. She said that it was enchanted for my protection along with the ability to absorb any extra magic my body puts out. Truth be told I love it. She says I can wear it under my regular clothing and I can see why. It fits like a glove. It is an all-black outfit. The top is a thin-strapped large v neck that looks almost like a sports bra and the bottoms remind me of a pair of volleyball shorts the girls at school all wear in every sport now.

“You cannot be serious about training in that I can see your ass hanging out,” Asher says protectively and I laugh a little as I notice his eye switch from his green to a black and back but it is all out of lust, not anger.

“Don’t worry baby when I train with everyone I will wear other clothing but just for today I do not want to run the risk of ruining my clothing,” I tell him with one hand on his shoulder and the other on my hip. I watch as his eyes scan over me and he licks his lips.

‘no doubt we are teasing him after this morning’s dry humping session.’ Tine says and I can now see her wolfish grin as I focus on her.

“Okay, Asher you better go take a cold shower before I dump a bucket of cold water on you. I can feel the heat radiating off of you.” I tease him with a giggle and run back over to Megan so we can begin. Asher tells me he is going to going to go run the lines with King Rowen and Dad so they can see where problem areas are at. We have to discuss the fact that with me becoming Queen of the Royal pack and all of our kind that the territory both packs have should be shared now. As it is they are right next to one another and with the blending of families it only makes sense. As I start my training with Megan we find out that my core power is wind and my second is Water. I found that the easiest way to focus my power is to imagine what I have learned in school.

“Okay, I want you to try and make ice,” Megan says and I nod my head.

I think of what ice is. Ice is water that is frozen when the temperature drops lower than 32 degrees Fahrenheit. As I imagine it I form a long ice spear in my hand. We then move on to fire. For that I imagine in a flame so to make it bigger I think of what it would look like if I mixed in an accelerant. My fire blooms in size and envelops and large oak trees turning it into ashes in no time at all. I put it out with water quickly as well as turning it to ice in a single motion. After I have gone through all of the elements we find out that Earth is my weakest element and that we will work on it tomorrow. I have also honed in on my ability to feel things around me. I feel someone coming up on me and I jumped to avoid them. I land on a branch right above me and send a shot of wind from my feet causing a yelp. When I look down I see everyone but Rain laughing. I look over to see that I had throne Aaron into a tree and I rush over to help him. I can tell by the way he is breathing he has a broken rib and I scramble to help him out. I order for someone to call Chey or Mike and I help him up. Once we get him into the hospital I turned to Rain and bowed low to her.

“I am so sorry Rain I didn’t know who it was and he scared me,” I told her with tears in my eyes. She started to laugh and I looked up out of concern just to see a smile on her face.

“I have been watching you all afternoon and knew he would get hurt. I even told him that yet he said he still wanted to test you. Looks like he got what was coming to him.” She said with a sigh, gave me a hug and walked off into there room. We walked out of the hospital so we could go train more when the 3 Alphas stopped in their tracks and growled. As they took off running I followed. Asher and dad turned at the same time to say something to me but I stopped them.

“Do not say I am to wait here with Jamie and Rain I am going with you now tell me what happened?!” I say with a bit of anger knowing what it was they were going to say.

“We were just told by the worriers on the boards near the Royal pack that someone has requested our presence. There are 3 rogues, a male who seems to be their leader but is wearing a cloak and mask as well as a female with her head covered with a black cloth bag. They say it looks like they want to have an execution but no one knows who they are and they will not do anything until the 4 of us are there.” Dad tells me and I can tell he is worried. Rowen had already shifted and had taken off with a few worriers after telling the rest to protect the queen and Beta. I can tell he is worried about the pack since he and his beta are here and only his 3rd in command is in charge. Asher shifts and I climb on his back so we can get there faster. But for some reason, I have a lot of anxiety about this meeting. Who are they and why did they want all of us………..
