Sia - POV
“Alpha, please don’t hurt that maid,” I begged, and he sighed at my pleading. I thought he would punish me for hiding my sickness from him.
“I asked Kaiz to take the maid away so I could chat with you.” His remarks were soothing, but I couldn’t trust them since I still felt terrified as his eyes locked on mine.
“I’m going to remain here till you feel better.” Hearing those remarks from him stunned me. Why is he making such an effort to be kind to me? The way he speaks makes it difficult for me to comprehend him and increases my fear of this man.
“Alpha, you don’t need it,” I mumbled. He perched on a stool beside my bed, making me uneasy.
“I don’t have any work right now, so I’d better spend my time with you.” I stared at him, wondering what had driven him to become obsessed with me.
“Don’t you have Luna to spend the night with?” I said with a scowl and bit back the other words, threatening to escape.
“Hmm…. I don’t care about her. Neither does she care?” He sighed as he gazed at me, his face expressionless. Why is he so close? The bulged chest of his button-down shirt drew my attention. I felt annoyed at my thoughts; I shifted my attention from him.
“What do you like?” he inquired. I try to avoid looking at him. His effort at small chat makes me feel disgusted. “I don’t like anything,” I admit quietly.
“How about you guess what my favorite thing is?” He inquired. I know your preferences; your favorite thing is to enjoy other people’s anguish, Then kill them. I wished I could scream these words in his face. But instead, I kept my lips shut and focused my attention on the white walls of the room around me. He sighed to gain my attention, but I didn’t. I try to hide my eyes to give the impression that I am sleepy from the effects of my medicine and encourage him to leave me alone.
“I understand you’re pretending to sleep, Sia.” He whispered in my ear, and I dared not open my eyes for fear of being exposed to his words. I also attempted to calm my pounding heart so that he would not be able to hear what I was saying.
“Fine, you go act; I’m still sitting here.” He said, and I closed my eyes and grumbled inside. He remained silent, but I could still pick up his scent around me, so I knew he was still there. It felt like hours had passed. Even though my eyes were closed, I could still feel his attention.
I opened my eyes to inform Alpha that I despise him so much that I want him to die. However, I positioned my tongue between my teeth to calm down and prevent a violent response. Alpha Xavier grinned as I looked up.
“Alpha, you aren’t making me feel at ease.” His piercing stare locked on mine, and I forgot what I was about to say.
“I know you’re uncomfortable with me, but we need to get to know each other since I will introduce you as my concubine to my pack members tomorrow.” He said. My mind curses Alpha, and I don’t care about this monster pack that didn’t even oppose Alpha’s merciless choice to slaughter innocent individuals.
“Alpha, if you don’t mind, I don’t want to meet anybody,” I asked.
“I am not giving you an option; I am telling you.” Alpha Gaze pierced me. He must have seen my disgust at his statements.
“I know you hate me, Sia. Don’t pretend you don’t.” He grunted. I cringed at his rage and didn’t know what to say to him, but I forced myself to maintain my calm. I know Alpha pushes me to confess my genuine emotions for him, and I won’t tell him because I’ll keep him in the dark.
“ I don’t dislike you... or have any feelings for you, Alpha.” I paused. The doctor arrived before Alpha spoke, and they inspected my vitals and the wounds on my abdomen and lower back. Those scars had been received from the slave cell and had not yet healed.
“Are you in any pain?” the doctor inquired. “No doctor, and I felt the discomfort lessen.” The physician monitored the monitor.
“Please take this prescription; the wounds will heal,” I replied. The doctor stared at me hesitantly, and Alpha and I waited for him to continue.
“Alpha, the patient wolf, is being restrained; could you please remove the slave ring from her so that she may get well as soon as possible?” the Doctor asked.
“I can’t do that, doctor, because I don’t trust her yet, and she’ll run away. That ring is my tracker on her, so I’ll treat her with medication.” I didn’t react when the doctor gave me a sympathetic glance; I expected such talk from the tyrant.
“Is she free to go?” Alpha inquired with displeasure and folded his arms. The doctor nodded in answer, so after getting out of the hospital, I carefully went out with Alpha matching my pace and Liza going on the other side; she had brought me shoes to walk in and also bought me a jacket, so I didn’t feel cold.
Upon seeing that Liza was unharmed, I felt a sense of relief; nonetheless, this Alpha has a cruel exterior.
It’s already dawn, and I hear the pack members mumble and bad-mouth me as I am a white moon pack, and they hate us. I am deaf to the voices because they have no f*****g idea what I’ve gone through, and it doesn’t matter what they think of me.
I noticed Alpha staring at the pack members to hush up, which they did, and I could catch a side look from Alpha and Liza at my reaction.
“Why don’t you join me for breakfast?” I glanced at Alpha. I nodded and followed him to his chamber. Liza gets a breakfast tray. Alpha Xavier looked at me as I took my seat in my armchair.
“Sia….” Xavier was about to say something when the frantic knock cut him off.
“Alpha, the Luna of the Pack, has been harmed by the rogues,” Guard remarked. And Alpha Xavier’s countenance altered, and he rushed out of the room.
