Chapter 6

*Samantha’s POV* As I sit amongst the mass of mostly kids, with us adults sprinkled in. Now that I think about it there is an oddly high number of chaperones for this trip. Usually, it’s like one or two tops per class. It seems to be about four to six per class. Which is very weird but makes my job easier, so yay! I should be able to really enjoy the farm with all the extra eyes on the kids. I had figured I’d be spending more time telling the kids not to do things, than time I got enjoying the farm.  I’ve Chaperoned a few trips and I do always have a blast I like being around all the kids I like getting a feel for my kid’s classmates. But there’s one part of every field trip that no parent, or teacher for that matter, enjoys.  The absolute worst part of chaperoning? THE BUS RIDE! Its so SO loud.  You can feel the excitement buzzing in the air, you can hear the cacophony of rambling children each louder than the next. At any given moment at least two children ask, “are we there yettttt?” the first half of the ride wasn’t too bad we had them distracted we were singing songs and talking about Disney movies and our favorite farm animals. However, they had grown restless. they had been sitting still for too long and all sense of reason had left them. Goddess I hope we get there soon all this excited energy is making my stomach knot up. Being an Empath in these situations was always tiresome. I made eye contact with some of the other parents, we all had the same defeated look. So, I decided to call a parent meeting silently. I nodded my head to the two empty rows of seats in the front. There was no calming these kids so might as well enjoy the storm. We made our way to the empty seats. We chatted amongst ourselves sipping our coffees.  My first coffee was but a memory, and this cup wasn’t far behind it. I swirled the almost empty cup hoping to make it last till we arrived. Which I failed miserably at, I decided to make myself busy and maybe earn us adults some quiet time.  After asking the bus driver for an ETA I grab my snack bag. After distributing various goodies, I sit back amongst the adults.  They all give me grateful look one of the other mom’s mouths ‘I owe you a coffee’. I smile and laugh at her, SilverMoon farms is only about five minutes away, but now we can have some peace! I leaned back into my seat absentmindedly munching on some candy, caught up in the scenery passing us by. The sights and sounds of the farmlands surrounding us had totally driven away the dark cloud that john usually brought into my life.                                                          *Maxwell`s POV* I was pacing nervously at the back of our mind. I could tell I was driving J nuts, but I was anxious. I had a good feeling about today. Today we will find our pups and then find our Luna! I’m still in awe that Moon Goddess really choose to bless me with a second chance mate. Not all Wolves who lose their mate get a second chance. Hell, most wolves I know that have lost a mate don’t live long enough to find a second chance. So, to say I am surprised to have been blessed with this beautiful gift would be an understatement. After the s**t I pulled I would think that Moon goddess Would enjoy my suffering.  After We lost her, we…. well, I caused so much trouble. When we lost them, J broke he shut down he could not handle anything, so I just took control. I had burst thru his skin as soon as I stood on paws, I threw my Head up and sent out a heartbreaking Mournful howl. As I howled loudly the windows shook and then broke. I was releasing our pain into the air. I nudged her face with my nose, whimpering at the lack of sparks. She was cold already, her eyes once so full of life and happiness now dull and lifeless. Looking down at the blood pooling around her. I dint notice Alice run in until I heard her scream. Her screaming continued until it turned into a pained howl. Xena looked at me nervously unsure if I would allow her to go to her twin. I walk around her body and lay down with my head on her stomach, it felt so empty now.  Alice took a spot on the other side of her lifeless form. It was her turn to nudge and lick her cheek and whimper. Anger was bubbling up next to the despair, I had to get out of here.  I Mind linked Alice “Take care of them for me. Make sure they get the burial they deserve. I’m sorry we couldn’t protect her, but I will make all those that attacked us wish for death.”  I licked my fallen angels’ cheek, I nudged Alice once more. I raced off into the woods, running as fast as I could. I’m not sure how long I ran for but once I stopped, I knew what I needed to do. Kill. After that I had but one single focus, I would destroy all those that dared to take them from us. I was fueled by a seething hatred for rogues, a burning desire to kill everyone of them in my path. It took a while, but I had discovered my prey’s location. They ran a Rogue camp that was far outside our pack lands. Once I neared the encampment, I caught the scent of one of the mutts that took her from us. I snapped, All I seen was red. Red everywhere as I tore those rogues apart. I tore through the whole camp. A lone wolf lost in rage and grief.  There were over 20 of them I made quick work of most of them, they had attacked the pack, but they were not my target. The three responsible for us losing everything begged for death. I toyed with them for hours ripping into them letting them heal and breaking and shredding everything that had healed.  “HEY MAX” Jason practically yells at me “WHAT” I snap at him. “Are you ok man? I’m nervous enough without you pacing about and freaking out in my head!”  he asks clearly concerned about what I was doing while I was blocking him from my thoughts. “I’m ok j I was just thinking about… Them” of course I don’t have to explain he lost them too. “I wonder if she begged the moon goddess to bless us with a second chance.” I ask half joking.  “She would want us to be happy, and you know how persuasive she could be!” he ends with a chuckle.  Its showtime the kids are here, Finally, time to focus and find our mate!                                                     *Third Person POV* SilverMoon Farm was buzzing with activity today. Today they were hosting a field trip and had invited hundreds of kids’ parents and teachers. Some kids had already gathered in the field to the front of the parking lot. The kids exiting the bus would meet the kids on the field.  Everyone was doing their own thing waiting for all the students to arrive. At the far end of this field stood A Tall Muscular Man, his hair long and curly. They had set up an area to enter from the parking lot.  It was a brightly colored archway flanked by tables on both sides. A banner reading ‘Welcome to Silver moon farms’ was hung on each table. The tables were filed with drawstring book bags with the SilverMoon Insignia on them. As the last bus pulled in the staff had instructed the teachers and parents to line up to enter farm. As the guests filed thru the entrance, they were welcomed with a bag filled with supplies. It did not take long for the parents to pass the word down about the farm’s owner. He was HOT, Like movie star sexy!  Several of the moms had dug out compact mirrors and were touching up their faces. One of the moms that had already entered the farm, called a mom at the end of the line and told her that she had never seen a real person that looked so damn good. The moms and a few dads had all joined in fawning over their host. As the line filed through each mother and teacher was disappointed.  No matter what none of them could catch his attention. He seemed to be distracted. Towards the back of the line stood a woman who was being shown a picture of Jason Silvers the owner of Silvermoon farms.  Looking at the picture the woman’s eyes widen. “Stacy he’s beautiful” she sighs. “tasty!” Stacy says to the mom with black boots and a flannel.  That earned a light elbow to the red heads ribs “Ow Sam!” soon Stacy had to go back with her kid’s class. the kids were so excited to the farm, and they couldn’t wait to see what was in their farm bag. Being so close to their destination was driving the kids crazy who in turn drove the adults crazy! The line was moving pretty quickly. As Jason was now barely looking at anyone passing thru the archway. Instead, he seemed to be searching the line.
