“Do you understand, Ms. Kwon?” Mr. Han, the disciplinary officer in the company, asked Janine. Janine nodded, half-heartedly. She still doesn’t get why she has to write a real Letter of Apology when in fact, she’s the victim here. How could someone, let alone a supervisor, aim to do that? She’s not his secretary for crying out loud. Mr. Han sighed as he kept the Letter of Apology that Janine made. The first one made L mad so, he reported it to the disciplinary council – to Janine’s displeasure, of course. “Okay,” he told her. “You may go now.” Then he continued to examine some papers. Janine sighed and bowed before him before leaving his office. As she came out of the door, she already saw Porter smirking on her. She immediately felt the urge to kick him in the balls. He’s so despicable! How could he be this evil? “Went well?” Porter asked her. His voice is obviously teasing her as if telling her that she couldn’t mess with him. Janine tried to prevent herself from rolling her eyes on him because God knows if he would tattle tale again to Mr. Han. Instead, she just left him hanging without saying a word. Yes, that’s it, Janine Kwon. Don’t ever lose your cool. You’re always cool. She walked to the office only to be called by Mr. Lee because of a new project deal that she has to close within the month. It’s a deal with Wu Entertainment, one of the largest companies, that caters idols and actors. Mr. Lee is planning on using his idols for the endorsement of their new brand. The styling department has done their job and now, the sales and marketing department would work on it. Janine couldn’t say no to it. How could she when she is facing the CEO of the company? Of course, she wouldn’t disobey his orders. But at least, Mr. Lee gives off good vibes until someone else who’s sitting on the supervisor desk. She went back to her desk after her meeting with Mr. Lee and started doing some research on Wu Entertainment. She’s not feeling well because she’s really pissed at Porter, who at the moment, is looking at her and smirking. “I wish to all the angels above for you to turn into a dog.” She muttered to herself as she focused on her monitor. -- “Janine,” Yasmin called her. She looked at her. “Why?” She asked. “It’s 7PM already. Aren’t you going home yet?” Yasmin asked her. Janine looked at her watch and was shocked on the time. “I’ll go overtime.” She decided. “I have to at least finish my research on Wu Ent before going home.” She smiled. Yasmin looked at her worried. “Are you sure?” She asked. Janine nodded. “Yes. I can just call a cab or what.” She assured. Yasmin just nodded even if she’s still bothered. “Okay, if you say so.” She gave in in the end. “Message me when you get home, okay? See you tomorrow.” She beamed as she hugged Janine before leaving together with the rest of the employees in the office. Janine, however, continued to conduct some research on the Wu Ent. Of course, she has to know their strategy when it comes to business before offering them to endorse their new products. The thing is, the wife of Kris Wu, the President of the company, is a famous fashion designer. What if she’s supplying them designs too? That would be a challenge on their part. In the midst of her research, her phone rang. It was Johann and his face is popping on the screen. Janine accepted the call and saw Johann smiling widely. However, upon seeing her not home yet, he frowned. “Overtime again?” He asked. Janine sighed and nodded. “Just tonight.” She told him to ease his anxiety. Johann blew a raspberry and positioned himself better in the camera. “You should never overwork yourself, Janine.” He told her. Janine smiled weakly. “I know that.” She replied. “But I have to finish this today so I won’t be cramming on this deal tomorrow.” She placed the phone down, positioning it to her left side, so, she could continue to work while Johann watches her. Johann watched her and sighed to himself. “I wish I’m really there right now, watching you work this way.” He beamed in a sad tone. Janine glanced at him and smiled. “Watching me through Facetime is good enough for me.” She replied then she turned to the monitor once more. “But still,” Johann insisted. “I want to go home right now and comfort you when you are tired.” Janine smiled and felt her cheeks burning red. “That’s why you—” “Have to study well so I could come home faster. I know.” Johann finished it for her. After all, it’s what Janine has been telling him for the rest of the times that he is there. Janine chuckled. “Are you mocking me, Johann?” She asked with her narrowed eyes on the screen. Johann laughed. “What if I am, hot chick?” He asked. Janine gasped when she heard him call her hot chick. He always does that when he’s trying to act so sexy in front of her. She doesn’t find it sexy though, she finds it cute. “Stop that!” She whined and Johann chuckled. “I was just trying to relieve your stress, baby girl.” He beamed. Janine smiled and nodded. “Trust me, just seeing your face relieves my stress already.” She beamed back making Johann laugh and cringe in happiness. Well, have you ever seen a guy get so giddy? That’s how Johann is. Janine and Johann talked for a few minutes more before she finally typed the final dot on the Word. “There. Done!” She beamed. Johann sighed in relief. “Finally! I thought it would take you the whole night.” He told her. Janine frowned at him and he just chuckled. “Shall I hang up?” He asked. Janine nodded. “See you at home.” She replied. She means, she’ll call him later when she gets home. Johann nodded and blew her a virtual kiss before hanging up. Janine just smiled and shook her head as she fixed her things then left the office. -- “What’s your order, Sir?” The waitress was batting her lashes in front of Porter but he wasn’t even looking at her, his eyes are on the menu. “What’s your best seller?” He asked the waitress who immediately blushed upon hearing his voice. Oh, Porter and his effect on women. The waitress replied with her whole being about the best seller and all the other information about other foods. See? She’s getting all giddy with Porter. “Okay.” Porter looked at her and gave the menu back. “I’ll take that.” He told her. “And one iced tea.” He added. The waitress flashed her sweetest smile and flirtatiously walked away from Porter. Porter sighed and shook his head as he saw what the waitress did in front of him. Aside from wondering where she got the guts to flirt like that, he is also thinking if she knew how gross it was. He leaned on the chair and crossed his arms across his chest as he looked at the street where a lot of people are walking in and out the other stores. If you are all asking, this is one of Porter’s defining characteristics; he observes more than anyone does. And he goes to grab dinner alone because it would be loud if he ate at home. Imagine the other 6 boys laughing boisterously. He was busy watching the people outside when he noticed a familiar figure coming in the restaurant. A smirk formed on his lips. “Janine Kwon,” he muttered as his eyes followed her as she looked for a vacant table. Well, too bad. The restaurant is full. He watched her as the man from the reception explained to her that there are no vacant tables around. She looked like she just got out of the office because she’s still on her corporate attire. And she looked tired, well, from Porter’s perceptive, she is. He saw Janine frown and turned to leave when he suddenly raised his hand calling the attention of the man who talked to her. The receptionist looked at him. “There’s still a vacant seat.” Porter said as he motioned to the seat across him. He is sitting in a one-table-four-seater table so, obviously, there are three vacant seats on his table. He c****d his head to the side as he looked at Janine who is glaring at him. Of course, he expected that glare. He made her write an Apology Letter because she talked to back to him. He presumes it’s her first record in the office. Of course, she would get mad at him. But the thing is, he likes pestering her. He doesn’t hate her. He just likes to see her when she’s pissed. He finds it cute because no matter what he does, he doesn’t see that she is attracted to him. Unlike other girls. He stood up and walked to where Janine and the receptionist is. “What?” He asked Janine. “Are you going to eat here or—” “Not.” Janine beamed much to his delight. Feisty. Janine is feisty and he likes it. Porter smirked and shrugged at her. “Okay. If you say so.” He beamed then he turned his back on her. He was expecting that she would change her mind and follow him but when he looked back, Janine was already going out of the restaurant. “Tss! What a pride-filled woman!” He muttered to himself, feeling disappointed that he didn’t get to piss her more.
