No Fast Healing

Dawn     "What were you doing by yourself on the roof with him?" dad asked, showing his overprotective behavior.     "I was curious about him, dad. He... it's possible that he is my mate," I replied, shocking everyone in the room.      "Your mate? But that is impossible" I heard mom speak from the door. She looked better after resting, but she was not happy, "you can't have two mates. It is just not in our nature"     Grandpa and Grandma looked at each other, and he took her by the hand. "It is possible. It happens rarely. Alianor and I were there. I was the one with two mates, and Alianor literally fought for my affections, until she won" listening to grandpa talk about their past was so enlightening. They loved each other like no other couple can. I even admired how much my parents fought for each other.      Their own love story was inspiring too. No matter the odds, they fought until the end. Mom and dad had also told me that love conquers all, and her healing Leon's heart was the biggest proof anyone could show.     I just randomly thought about Leon, "Grandpa, Leon never came to the room. Is he okay?"     "Yes, sweetheart. He is just away in the village and I guess he didn't bother to tell us he was gone" he laughed. I was sure he knew something about Leon. No one else did. But I was positive it was something good for him.      I walked over to mom, and I hugged her tightly. "I love you mom. I am sorry for everything"      "It's okay, my princess. You are just young. But you are smart and learn quick, and I was thinking maybe your father can train you and the twins, starting tomorrow?" she cupped my cheeks and smiled at me.     "Really? Will you let us?" I asked and looked at dad who was standing next to her.     "Told you there was a way to convince her. Your mom might be stubborn, but nothing some kissed won't help" he said, making my mom hit him in the ribs, as he let out a groan of pain. We hugged again when suddenly Waylon came in with the warriors, carrying...Lucian?     My heart suddenly wanted to jump out of my chest and I quickly ran to see how he was doing.           "What happened?" I asked. Waylon stopped me before I got to him.     "He was attacked in the woods. His other two warriors were killed instantly" he said when the doors slammed open again. Two warriors were dragging a man to the room.     "Rhett?" I couldn't believe my eyes, "why are you dragging him here? What did he do?"      They dropped him to my parents' feet so they can decide what to do with him. "Your highnesses, this man was found next to Lucian and the dead warriors"      I walked towards them and looked at him. His eyes were showing me guilt, but I had the feeling he was innocent. He must be protecting someone, but who? I couldn't hear anymore of what the warriors were saying because my focus was between Rhett and Lucian.      It is like time for a moment stopped. Seeing both my mates in trouble stirred something in me. I suddenly felt hot, and my blood was boiling. "Dawn, what's wrong?" mom asked. I walked away from her.      "I have to go. I need to fly away for a minute" I replied, going out the doors.      'Our mates are suffering in different ways. It is normal for us to feel the anger. Try to get it together, Dawn. We are not ready-' her words fell deaf in my ears, when a big ball of fire blasted from my hand and into a tree, burning it.     I could hear my mom call me from afar, and when I turned around, I accidentally fired at her, but she was quick and stopped it. I pressed my hands together, trying to control my anger and my newly discovered power. I was scared, for me, for my mates, for my family. I had to control this one way or another.     "Easy, sweetheart. I am here" she said while I kept backing up and away from her.     'Listen to her, Dawn. Don't walk away' Cicely stopped me. My feet wouldn't move and I knew she was controlling me. Mom approached me and took me in an embrace. I was taking deep breaths and finally calmed down in her arms.      'Her and mom are the one that can comfort us'  she said, also referring to Alina, 'It's the mother and daughter bond, stronger than any bond you can have, even with your mate'      We pulled away and her eyes were glowing to a lavender color, and I knew Alina was trying to do the same for Cicely. Suddenly, tears came out of my eyes and she wiped them, releasing some of her strength to me, to make me feel better.     "Who do you want to see first?" she asked and I didn't hesitate with my answer.     "Lucian. He is hurt and I want to make sure he is going to be okay. Then I need to see Rhett and he needs to answer some questions" I replied. We walked inside and they had already moved Lucian to a guest room. The doctor was checking on him, but there were not good news.     "Castellan's injuries are pretty serious. It will take him a while to heal himself and Lucian. He won't be able to fly back to Gargolian any time soon" something inside of me stirred. I was happy to hear that, it meant he would get to stay here longer, and I would get to know him, but I was afraid for his health.      "Is there anything we can do to speed up the process?" I asked, while an idea came to mind "mom, you can heal him, right? You have that power"     "Sweetie, it is more complicated than that. He is not part of the family, subjects or mate bond. I am afraid there is nothing I can do at the moment. We'll just have to wait"      "Cicely, do we have the healing power?"     'I am afraid we don't, Dawn. Unless we discover it in the future' she replied, and I was hopeless.     I decided to stay with him and watch him, but I needed to check on Rhett and ask him what really happened in the woods with Lucian.
