Lucian and Castellan

1023 Words
Lucian        She was absolutely breathtaking. An innocent soul with a fiery beast inside. I could feel her emotions running haywire. Could she be the mate I have been waiting for years? Being the king of the Gargolian kingdom, I never had the time to find my mate, and there was never the perfect one for me.     "She is the one, Lucian. She is our mate," Castellan whispered. She was looking at him with those beautiful eyes, and she looked like she could be my next Queen.      "Castellan, may I present my granddaughter, Dawn" Ulric introduced her and Castellan was going crazy, just as I was inside of him. Dawn, such a beautiful name for a beautiful woman.      "Nice to meet you" she said, not taking her eyes off him, and showing him a polite smile. She took her gaze away from Castellan and looked at the map on the table. He couldn't concentrate on anything but her. I could feel him trying to silently communicate with her Gargoyle.     "Her name is Cicely. Beautiful just like her human's name" he mentioned, and that brought a small smile on his face. Smile that Dawn noticed. He brought back his serious expression, and I couldn't help but smile on the inside. He had to show our leadership and dominance.     "Is there anything here that can help us find those portals?" she mentioned, getting close to him. Her smell of sweet chocolate and coconut had his nostrils active, and his senses tried to overreact, but he held himself back.     "If you excuse me, I need some fresh air" he said, walking out of the hall. He could feel her gaze on him, and I was hoping on the inside she would follow us.     Castellan flew to the roof and stood in one of the pillars that looked out to the woods. He could hear wings flapping and a smile escaped his lips as his mysterious eyes tried to stay focused on the landscape ahead.     "Who are you?" Cicely's voice touched his ears. He looked back, and getting off the pillar, he walked slowly towards her.      "That is for me to know, and you to find out" I slapped myself at his rudeness.     'Let me out, Castellan, you don't want to ruin this and scare her away' I said, trying to take back my body, but he refused. He walked around in a predator's way, we were not dangerous, but our appearance seemed intimidating.     He reached for her stretched out wings, making Cicely pull them against her back. Her silver eyes, looked like the Moon had painted them on her. Let's not talk about her tail and her horns, powerful and exotic.          "You are one mysterious Gargoyle. How do you know my family?" she asked, curiously. Castellan chuckled, walking back to the edge of the roof and stretching his wings, giving her a sight of them.      "The only thing I can tell you is that your great-grandfather used to have an alliance with my grandfather when they were the Kings. After so many years, your grandfather has summoned my presence to deal with a very dangerous threat, which makes me question, why now and not when they first dealt with them?"     "Well, maybe he didn't think of it before. As far as I know, the hunters had attacked out of nowhere, starting with the kidnapping of my mother"     "Aahh, the one where your father took her and found out they were mates" this was enough. The only way to make her like us was to treat her nicely. Castellan was doing the opposite.     'Let me take over now, or I will lock you in my body for months. Remember who is the King here' I threatened, and he let out an angry sigh, but giving up at the end. As we shifted, so did Cicely. I turned around and saw Dawn standing there.     "Well, it is nice to meet the human side of him, ummm-"      "Lucian, nice to meet you Dawn. I have heard so many good things about the girl that had saved this kingdom" I mentioned, making her blush.          "You mean, the girl that was born to save this kingdom. I didn't really do much, just leave my mother's womb" she replied with a sigh.      "You don't seem to happy about it. Saving the kingdom is a big deal"      She shook her head and walked to the edge, taking a deep breath and letting a smile escape her luscious lips. "I was just a baby, the real way to save Gargodom is to fight our enemies and to take back what is ours. That is the right way to save it"     I stood next to her, with my hands on my back and stealing a glance at her. "Well, there will be time for that. For now, you just have to prepare yourself for it, and I am sure you will be a great queen one day" I tried to be as honest and as firm as possible. She also needed some reassurance and kindness. I needed to win her.     Ulric and Isaiah appeared, and I knew it was time for me to leave the castle. "Well, princess. It was nice to meet you, I hope we meet again soon" I said, kissing her hand and walking inside with them.      "It was a pleasure to have you here, Lucian. Your father must be really proud of you for ruling your kingdom in a great way. We will see you in a week's time to plan our defense," Isaiah mentioned, shaking my hand. I shifted and along with my warriors, we flew back to Gargolian.     As we almost arrived there, we were intercepted by a shadow flying fast in front of us. My warriors landed on the ground and stayed alert for any attack that we might get. As I landed after them, I could see two figures on the trees. One of them was twice the size of the other and his wings stretched out to the side.     "Hello, Lucian. We meet again" his voice was familiar, but I didn't want to believe he was back.
