Ella's POV
it was pure torture, the memories were too hard for me to bear, I had night horrors every night that slowly became a norm for me.
But in my mystery, I was thankful for Evelyn because she kept to her words and never left my side.
Evelyn had been my rock this past couple of months, she never left my side through it all.
And now it's almost a year since I returned from that cursed island.
Sometimes, I wished I could have died there because right now, I had no meaning to life , or even the zeal anymore to keep ongoing.
“ Evelyn..." I called out her name and she turned to look me smiling, we were watching this TV show for the hundredth time now.
“Thank you..." I murmured out and Evelyn rolled her eyes at me.
“ What for ," she asked, as she acted so obviously to what I was saying.
“ Thank you for being here," I let out again.
“Stop... telling me thank you, Ella, you are my friend and it is my duty and I am happy to be doing this," Evelyn smiled as she give me a slight notch.
“ But still you have been here for a while, don't you think you should go home," I asked.
“ Wait are you chasing me away," Evelyn let out with a frown on her face?
“ No... I can never do that," I let out.
“Okay then , I am not leaving you yet, you are not ready to be alone at all so I am not leaving you," Evelyn smiled as she pulled me into a tight hug.
We watched television for a while and ate take out, and that was Evelyn let out of nowhere.
“ You know what... let's go out I want to show you something," Evelyn let out and I was confused.
“ Where are we going to," I asked in a low voice.
“I don't know, maybe you would just have to come with me to find out," Evelyn let out with a smirk on her face.
“ I don't know Evelyn, I'm not sure I am ready for the outside world yet," I let out softly.
“ Ella... it's been almost six months since I saw you by your door, so I think it is time you go out and see the real world," Evelyn let out.
“ But..." I tried to protest but Evelyn was not having any of it.
“I know Alex would hate seeing you all locked up inside here, so I'm going to act like her and say no to you, so get and go get dressed," Evelyn said with so much authority in her voice, that I knew I didn't have a choice.
So reluctantly, I took a shower and got dressed.
“I'm ready, " I let out and In no time Evelyn pushed me out of the door.
Trust me, it was so nerve-racking to be outside again.
I was shivering but Evelyn held my hands, giving me all the support that I need.
We got into the car, and soon we were on our way.
“ Aren't you going to tell me anything," I asked and Evelyn glanced at me confused?
“ Stop you know what I am going on about," I rolled my eyes at her.
“No I don't why don't you let me know," she chuckled softly and I huffed rolling my eyes again.
“Don't do this to me, why don't you tell me where we are going to," I asked and she shook her head.
“ No... You just have to sit back, relax and find out," Evelyn let out and nodded breathing out heavily.
............................................
We drove for a few hours, Evelyn put the car roof top-down, and I enjoyed the breeze hitting my face , and my hair flowing in the wind.
For the first time in a long while, I felt alive, the wind did wonders to my body and that made me smile.
“ Evelyn... Okay, tell me where are we going to," I asked again.
“ Why the stress Ella, you are clearly enjoying the car ride." Evelyn glanced at me smiling.
“ I know, but I still want to know where you are taking me to," I asked and Evelyn rolled his eyes.
“ Just wait we are almost there," she smiled as she exited into a road that looked all so familiar.
“ I know this place," I murmured and Evelyn giggled.
Evelyn didn't say a word until she stopped at a place that brought tears to my eyes.
“ My flower shop"
Evelyn had kept it running all this time.
I got out of the car confused, I never thought this shop was still be running.
“ How is this even possible...." I let out and Evelyn came to stand beside me.
“ I kept it running, even when I wasn't sure where you were, I knew you would have wanted this, and by the way, it was also my source of income," she laughed as she took me by the hands pulling me inside.
Stepping into the shop, a huge scent of dahlias and roses hit me and that immediately busted me with joy.
I was happy to be here again, the flowers filled me with so much life.
“ Thank you, Evelyn," I murmured out.
“Stop thanking me so much Ella, I did what was best for the both of us," she smiled.
“ But still this is something not many people would do," I let out as I give her a hug.
“ You are truly a friend," I whispered into her ear.
“ What's enjoy of the pity party, why don't we start selling flowers," Evelyn smiled and I nodded.
And just like that, it all came back to me, like it never left at all, and soon customers started flowing in.
The day was so busy with customers trooping in and out of the shop.
The shop was never this busy before, Evelyn had really done a great job here.
unfortunately, the day was almost over, and I hated it, I really had fun here.
“That is the last customer for the day," Evelyn smiled towards me, and my face fell in dismay.
“Why, we can keep selling, can't we," I asked with a frown on my face.
“ Don't worry, we can always come back tomorrow," she smiled and said.
I was closing up for the day, and Evelyn went out back to receive tomorrow's orders , when the shop bell rang signalling a new customer.
“ We are closed for the day," I let out without turning my back to even look at the customer.
The front desk bell rang again, and I rolled my eyes.
“Can't this person see that we are closed?" I grumbled to myself.
“We are closed for the day," I said again as I turned to look at the customer, but there and then I froze in my tracks , I couldn't believe who I was seeing or was my eyes playing tricks on me.
I wouldn't have believed that he was the one , but then he called out my name in a way only he does.
And before I knew it, my legs gave out on me , and I fainted.
