Ella's POV
I looked at the ring on my finger the entire night. I didn't sleep a wink.
''It all seemed so good to be true. Was my dream finally coming to reality? Will I finally have a family of my own ?" I continued to ask myself.
I still couldn't believe it, the euphoria of it all continued to keep me up all night.
Even though I was excited, I couldn't help but allow the uncertainty of this proposal to creep into my mind.
2 months... we have only been dating for 2 months. Why did he propose so soon? The question invaded my mind.
Was 2 months enough time to know and love somebody? was I making a mistake by accepting his proposal? I continued to ask myself questions I knew couldn't answer, but amidst my confusion, the voices kept on screaming to me that I was doing the right thing by accepting to marry Arthur. I loved him and that was all that mattered.
So, with that conviction, I knew I was doing the right thing.
So, immediately, when it was morning and the sun was shining brightly in the sky, I hurriedly rushed back to my former apartment to tell Alex the good news.
“Whoa, why do you still have the key to my apartment?" Alex asked as her eyes shone with surprise.
“ It is my apartment as well?" I let out, rolling my eyes.
'' No, it's not, you moved out. Remember, you left me all alone," Alex said, pouting.
Looking at her, I knew she was still unhappy that I had moved in with Arthur.
''Alex, come on, I'm sorry if you felt abandoned," I let out softly.
“Well that's how I am feeling, when you were dating Liam, you never moved out to stay with him," she said as she folded her arms with a dreadful frown on her face.
“I'm sorry, but I'm here now to visit you, aren't I?" I smiled, pulling her into a hug.
“But wait, why are you here so early? It's not even 9 am yet," Alex asked, looking at me with a questioning gaze.
“Wait did you and Arthur fight? Are you moving back in with me," she asked, and I could feel the excitement in her voice.
“It feels like you want me and Arthur to break up," I said with my arms folded.
“No... but I won't mind that, he took you away from me, you are barely here anymore," Alex said, frowning.
Well, I understand and I would visit more often, but that is not the reason I'm here". I let out smiling.
“Then why are you here ?" Alex asked.
“ Oh I know right, you missed my cooking, and you want me to make you breakfast? Well, I would not do that unless you begged me," Alex said as she walked past me into the kitchen.
“He asked me to marry him," I screamed loud enough that she was able to hear me.
"What!" she screamed from the kitchen and I laughed.
“When?... how?" she asked as she walked back up to me.
”Everything still feels so surreal. One minute we were having dinner, and the next thing I knew he was proposing," I smiled as I showed her the ring.
''Oh my goodness," Alex screamed so loud that my ear rang, as she dragged me into the living room, forcing me down on the couch.
“Show it to me again," she squealed as she took my hand without even allowing me to show it to her.
" It's beautiful..." she squealed even more.
"I know right, I still can't believe he proposed after barely 2 months," I smiled and Alex's facial expression changed as well.
“. It has just been 2 months. Why the hurry," she asked, and my happy mood changed as well.
“Alex I don't know and honestly I don't care, I love Arthur and he loves me too and that is all that matters," I said.
But still..." Alex tried to protest.
“No buts, I came here for you to share in my joy and not ruin it, so if you can't be happy for me, I will just leave," I said angrily.
“No, I'm just a concerned friend, but truly I'm happy for you. You have always wanted this," Alex said, smiling, and I nodded softly.
The joy was too much for my heart to contain.
“Well, Ella, you know what that means," Alex screamed in excitement.
“Yeah definitely," I replied, smiling.
We have a wedding to plan," we both screamed out.
(*)
The past 2 weeks were filled with wedding planning and dress shopping.
The girls were over the moon about this, and even as I was the bride, I didn't feel like it was my wedding at all.
So if you think going dress shopping with these girls is any fun, then you have to think again.
''No, that's not the dress for her," Sasha shouted.
''It is the perfect dress for her," Olivia shouted as well.
''No, I feel she should wear this one," Mandy yelled.
''Ugh, Mandy, she would look so fat in that," Ava huffed out.
The argument continued about what I was supposed to wear, and I just sat there watching them shout.
“ Aren't you going to say anything," Alex whispered into my ear.
''So that they can chop my head off... no thanks," I rolled my eyes.
''Then I would just have to stop them myself," Alex laughed.
''Oh, be my guest, you are more than welcome to do that," I smirked, hoping Alex would succeed in calming them down.
'' Will you stop arguing, Ella will wear the dress she had brought for Liam," Alex screamed and immediately the girls stopped.
“Hell no, that dress is cursed, we can't allow Ella to wear that," they all huffed out at the same time.
And just like that, it stopped, and that was how I was able to find a dress.
Reaching home, so tired from the daily activities, I slumped onto the bed as soon as I got to the room, allowing the soft feeling of the bed below me to envelope me whole.
“Long day?" I soon heard Arthur's voice ask.
“You can't even imagine, the girls are just unbearable, but it's a shame I love them all the same," I smiled.
''Well... I have to take care of my future wife, so I would run you a hot bath, then I would serve you a delicious meal," Arthur smiled and said.
'' Goodness you spoil me," I smiled and Arthur kissed me softly as he went into the bathroom.
Groaning out, so tiredly, I soon heard a phone ding, thinking it was mine. I picked up my phone and checked it but the ringing persisted.
Searching, I soon saw Arthur's phone and soon it dinged again, signalling a text message. I didn't want to read it, but my curiosity increased when I saw something written there.
"How are the preparations for the Hunt? Hope there won't be any complications, and everything is in order." the text read, and I was confused.
The hunt... what was that and why Arthur was involved in it," I asked myself over and over again.
