Chapter 23

1298 Words
Ella's POV ''Alex get up... what did you see,'' I screamed at her unconscious form , which looked so helpless on the floor, but no matter how hard I tried to get Alex to get up, she just wouldn't... Alex was passed out cold Fear soon became part of my fold, as my body shivered so profusely in uncertainty. ''We don't know what is out there... What are we going to do, Ella...'' Olivia let out, sounding so agitated. ''We will keep moving, that's the only option we have...'' I said, knowing that we had no other way out of this. Something did this to Alex and it was definitely coming this way, and I was not going to wait there to find out who or what it was, so we packed up again and, with the help of Olivia, we picked up Alex, supporting her weight with our bodies and, of course, made a run for it. We still didn't know what we were running from, but we didn't stop either. We kept on moving because we feared that if we ever stopped, then that might be our last. We walked until the sun was barely up in the sky again, and because of Mandy's constant grumbling and complaints, we decided to stop for a while. ''Finally...'' Mandy exclaimed in relief as she sat down on the floor. Olivia and I carefully put Alex down on the floor as well and that was when we noticed her eyes slowly drifting open as she slowly regained consciousness. ”Where am I... what is happening," Alex whispered out? Hearing her speak brought a smile to my face, as I was grateful that she was finally awake. ''Thank goodness that you are finally awake,'' I said as I brushed some loosed strands of hair off her face. Alex tried to move but the pain in her body stopped her immediately. ''Ella, what happened to me,'' she asked again. ''you fainted a while back... tell us what you saw in the woods,'' I asked her and Alex looked at me even more confused. ' I don't understand Ella... what happened to me, what did I see,'' she asked as she looked confusingly at the cuts and bruises on her skin, as if she didn't know what had caused them. ''I was confused... Does it mean Alex doesn't remember anything from last night,'' I asked myself as I continued to look at her as if she was the 8th wonder of the world. ''Ella. You talk to me. You are scaring me, who did this to me,'' Alex asked with her voice filled with anxiety. I still couldn't bring myself to say a word to her as I was still confused as to what was going on. So, when I didn't say anything to her, Alex turned to Olivia, seeking the answers she so desperately needed, but Olivia, on the other hand, was as shocked as I was. Olivia turned to look at me, with her eyes begging me for answers to this mystery. “Fuck... you two, why can't you just tell me what I need to know,'' Alex let out as she tried standing up to her feet but was whimpered back down by the pain. Damn it... just tell me why I have all these cuts and bruises which look as if I had just fought a ten-pound beast and, of course, with a pain that can definitely kill a goddamn horse,'' Alex screamed a bit this could. ''You truly don't remember anything that happened last night,'' I asked and Alex shook her head, signalling a no. ''This can't be... this doesn't make sense,'' I said as I racked my brain for any possible answers to this question that reeks of impending doom. ''Girls, just spit it out already, I need to know,'' Alex let out with so much eagerness. ''Alex, what was the last thing you remembered,'' I asked and it looked like Alex was thinking deeply about my question before she answered, ''I remembered walking into the wood, I sat admiring the beautiful stars in the sky... and... my goodness that was all I can remember, it was like my mind went blank after that, and then I woke up here with you guys here,'' Alex said and I could sense the fright in her voice ''You don't remember running out of the woods covered in blood with all these cuts and bruises on you,'' Olivia asked and Alex shook her head, signalling a no again. Okay, do you remember saying something before you fainted,'' I asked, and she shook her head again. ''Can't you understand, I don't remember anything, I don't even remember fainting in the first place... tell me what I said,'' she asked, and I became even more shocked. ''You said that... ' it was coming and that it was going to kill us all,'' Olivia said before I could even get a word out. The look on Alex's face was filled with fear, as her body shivered. None stopped. ''What is coming?'' she asked in a shaking voice and soon we all heard Mandy sigh heavily, saying '' You were the one who said those words, so I think you are the only one that can answer that,'' she said, rolling her I didn't know what was happening, or what to call any of this, but I was sure that whatever Alex saw in that wood didn't want her to remember any of it, and that was when I became even more determined to get off this island. ''Let's keep moving girls, we need to get to the other side of this island before sundown," I said as I picked up my things and started walking. The others followed suit even though they were grumbling about it. We walked until the sun had almost set in the sky and the darkness was slowly taking over our place. I was tired... my legs were killing me, but I refused to stop. ''Damn it guys... we should stop and rest. My feet are killing me already,'' I heard Mandy say from behind me. ''No... we keep moving,'' I yelled as I continued walking. Okay that's enough, no one made you the boss of us okay,'' Mandy screamed, '' Mandy, there is no time for all this, we need to keep moving,'' I screamed. But Mandy was so adamant that she refused to even move an inch. ''No, Ella, you can keep going if you want, I would just stay here and rest for a while,'' Mandy said as she dropped her bags and sat down on the floor. ''Mandy!'' Alex screamed out her name this time No... Alex, I know you are her nice little puppy, but please don't force me to do what she is saying. Remember that we are here all because of her and her little all here I am sure he knew how deadly this place was, but sent her here anyway, maybe just so he wouldn't have to marry her,'' Mandy said with disdain laced in her voice. I tried to keep my cool, knowing that Mandy was frustrated with all that was happening. So I kept on walking, totally ignoring her rude comment. ''But who could blame him if Liam left you for a reason too as well... how pathetic,'' Mandy. words filled the air again and I just couldn't control myself. I turned around, about to lunge aggressively at her, and that was the moment I heard it... the mysterious sound which came with a chilling wind and that was when I knew something was wrong. I looked around in fear as shivers ran down my spine. Something was coming, and I knew it... RUN,'' I SCREAMED
