Arthur's POV
My boss screamed as he flipped over the table in anger.
'' It should have been completed, the hunt should have been done, how did they escape that creature,'' My boss screamed as he ran his fingers through his hair in frustration.
I loved that. I was happy seeing my boss this way.
angry and frustrated.
''Do these girls have nine lives? They should all be dead by now," my boss let out angrily.
''But we got one of them, sir,'' one of the guys in the room said and immediately my boss gave him a slap.
''Does one mean that we have all of them, you fool, we needed all of them to die, not just one,'' My boss said uncannily.
''Remember what would happen if they got to the other side of the island... the hunt would be over and the cycle of 6 would not be completed.
And you know what that means for all of us,'' he screamed.
''Chaos''
We would all be plunged into unforeseen darkness, and there would be no way out for us, so I need people who has answer to answer, and I need them fast. We can't allow our subject to get to the other side of the island,'' my boss screamed with a serious expression on his face.
''I think we should just allow the creature to take care of it all. The subject might be hiding now, but I know that they can not hide for long,'' Lance, who was a field assistant, said out loud.
Goodness, I hated Lance and his overzealous nature. He was one of all those employees that crave the bosses' attention and somehow he always seemed to get it.
''Hmm, great idea Lawson,'' the boss said with a devilish smirk on his face.
''Sure a great idea, we just have to wait, somehow they will get tired and in time leave their hiding place,'' The boss smiled, knowing that he had just hatched a brilliant plan.
Looking at him, I knew I had to do everything within my power to change his mind.
Ella and the girls had survived enough, 4 of them were dead and now my boss wouldn't stop until the cycle of 6 is completed, so I knew. I couldn't keep Ella on that island anymore. I had to do something to get her out and right now I knew just what to do.
''Sir, I think that is a bad idea,'' I said as I looked up at him.
''And why is that Arthur,'' my boss asked curiously.
''These girls have nothing to lose anymore. Six of them made their way to the island, now there are only 2 of them left... So do you think they would leave a safe place, a place where they know they might be free from the creatures, even if it is only for the meantime... I know these girls and trust me they won't leave there,"' I said and it instantly got my boss thinking.
''So what do you suggest we do now,'' he asked, and I took in a deep breath, saying.
''We will send ot our special support team to capture them,'' I said softly.
''Capture them... are you crazy,'' Lance let out.
''Yes, capture them... getting them within our reach and not loose within the island with no control over them, would ensure that they don't go to the other side and also ensure that the cycle of 6 would be completed,'' I said and my boss looked at me intensely now.
''How are we going to complete the cycle of 6 then,'' my boss asked softly.
''Sir, when they are within our reach we can just feed them to any creature of our choosing, instead of waiting for the creature to do it by itself.
''Damn Arthur, it is called the hunt for a reason,'' Lance let out and I rolled my eyes.
My boss looked at me for a while as if contemplating my idea, until he let out.
''We are going to go with Lance's idea, and if that doesn't walk, then your plan can come. Arthur,'' my boss said, and I nodded.
We waited for weeks with all of us glued to our screens just waiting for the girls to come out of their hiding place and, just like I had thought, the girls didn't move from that spot, and I was glad.
Soon, the door to the office busted open and my boss walked in with frustration and anger clearly written on his face. He turned to Lance, saying.
''You are fired boy,'' my boss yelled and everyone was shocked by the sudden outburst of the boss.
''Boss, but why, please don't do this,'' he begged, but our boss was not ready to listen to any form of pleading.
''You wasted my time boy, and that is one thing I hate,'' the boss said as he signalled for Lance to be taken away.
I didn't like Lance, but I felt sorry for him because I knew the fate that awaited him now. He was definitely not going to leave here alive.
Soon, my boss walked up to me, saying.
''It is time, we need to do it your way now. Call on the special support team, it is time to get those girls into our custody,'' My boss ordered and I nodded.
''Sure thing sir, I will get right on it, and trust me, you will not regret it,'' I said and my boss rolled his eyes, sighing heavily.
''I had better not regret it, because there would be no other chances for you and you would end up like Lance,'' My boss let out in a hoarse voice as he walked out of the room.
Watching him walk out of the office space, I felt I could finally breathe again.
Finally, this was it, a chance to get Ella out of there, a chance to finally do this right, but in the midst of it all, I had only one fear, which was.
''Would she ever forgive me? if she knew what I did''
