The Beta's

420 Words
Hassan We were being given a tour of the grounds by the young Alpha’s beta. Being trained for my position most of my life I knew his goal was to get us to the training grounds to see our strengths. Too bad for this amateur pup he wouldn't see anything unless my Alpha okayed it. "This is where we train daily. I think they want to have a contest while you are all here." Ruben said before adding, "I mean once all the Alpha’s and betas arrive." "Oh!" I grunted. My second and the alpha’s third linked me. "Something is up with this one." I gave no immediate response. I knew if my concerns were voiced right now privately or otherwise I could mess everything up. I linked back. "Stay vigilant." "Over here is where the gym is for strength building and we even have a pool for endurance." Ruben kept pointing everything out. "Has your Alpha mated yet?" He asked. His question caught me off guard. "Why do you ask?" I responded. "Oh, no reason I was just wondering if keeping up with the future Luna was difficult." He looked serious. "He has options." Was my only reply. Since when does a Beta worry about the love life of an Alpha that isn't his. I wondered. We ran into Anneesha heading towards a trail on our way back. "Where are you going?" He asked like she belonged to him. "To mind my damn business." She replied nonchalantly but I did notice her nose flare. "Does anyone know your out here?" He pushed. "Listen, your my brother’s Beta keep up with him and not me." She snapped back. She spoke with authority of more than just a simple shewolf. "I'm, just trying to do my job." He shot back, "That includes you until you get claimed." Annesha looked very annoyed at his last comment. She took a step towards her brother’s Beta and spat."Don't worry about ME! I'm sure my mate whomever he is would agree." Then she turned on her heels and took off down a trail. My team and I exchanged looks because of the exchange. The Beta looked a little defeated. "Hey, did I hear that the compound has an indoor pool?" I asked trying to help him save face. "Huh, oh yeah." He replied. It's this way." As he visibility changed his focus. I knew I would have to keep my eyes and ears wide open because some thing about this wolf just didn't seem right.
