Fair warning, this is a poem I wrote in high school, before I learned about why some women have abortions. Please do not take this poem personal, it is simply a poem written in high school, and it doesn't reflect my current views. I fully understand that abortion is necessary in some situations.
Why do people abort?
To keep from pain?
To keep from trouble?
To keep from hurt?
Why don't we keep our babies?
Lack of love?
Lack of money?
Lack of support?
Regardless of the reasons
It's just not fair.
They make me sad
And cause me fear.
Babies need a chance
To live their lives, too.
To grow up and have fun
To have babies, too.
What kind of world are we
To kill our babies?
If our parents had aborted us
Where would we be?
They need to live
To love and be loved.
To see and experience
What life is like.
To have fun times
To learn how to hike.
To grow up strong
To one day ride a bike.
Let their rosy cheeks shine
Cheerfulness sing.
Drink from their bottles
And enjoy their swings.
We have lived our lives
What else do we need?
Let the babies lives theirs
Let them sprout like a seed.
