Elena I woke up to the sunlight dancing on my face. I groaned, still not wanting to open my eyes. For the first time in a long time, I am feeling fresh and well-rested. I tried to turn my head to the other side but my neck was stiff, probably from sleeping in a car for a long time. " Arghh," I groaned. I placed both of my hands on either side of my neck and tried some stretching. " Stiff neck, huh?" Liam asked. " Yeah. I slept for quite a long time sitting on the seat," I said, tilting my head to the side. I saw Liam was still driving and he looked tired, there were dark circles under his eyes. I guess he didn't sleep well or even rest for a bit. " You didn't take a rest, did you?" I asked him. He didn't say anything and pulled the car to the side of the road. Then he looked at me with a smile. " I did," he said and sighed. " We should have some breakfast before we move again," he said, looking at me, and I nodded. " Are you going to take me to college?" I asked. Knowing that it will be a long long journey if we go in a car. " Oh no. I am going to drop you at the bus stop. I have written down everything on a pad that would help you. Wait for me here," he said before getting out of the car. I saw him walking away and crossing the street where there is a convenience store. " I leaned back in my seat and remembered I didn't bring any clothes. But I do have enough money with me to buy myself a wardrobe. I started to plan that I would need an apartment there just in case. I sighed, knowing that I would have to do all the things on my own and I wouldn't have to depend on anyone else from now on. It's a different kind of satisfaction. " Come to earth, ele," Liam said, snapping his fingers in front of my face. " What? When did you come back?" I asked. Then I realised I was so involved in my thoughts that I didn't notice when he came back from the store. " Finish this quickly. We need to go. I don't want to take any risk staying on the road for a long time," he said, handing me a pair of sandwiches and a bottle of orange juice. I took it from his hand and started to unwrap the sandwich. " Thank you, Liam," I said sincerely. I don't dare to look him in the eyes. After what I said to him that night, " Don't I repeat once again, don't ever thank me again, ele," he said, munching on his sandwich. Which made me chuckle. " That night I understood my mistake. I shouldn't have behaved the way I did and I am truly sorry for that. When I thought about you after you left my room, I realised you suffered way too much in that house and you didn't even deserve that hell. No one deserves to be treated that way," he said, looking straight. " I forgive you," I said honestly. His head snapped in my direction and that made my eyes wide. " You do? After- he asked and I nodded my head immediately. I don't want him to feel guilty for what he had done after he realised he had made a mistake. We finished our breakfast in comfortable silence. When he saw that I was finished, he started the engine and drove away. In 20 minutes, he stopped the car at a bus stop. I sighed deeply, looking at the buses standing there outside the window. This is it. This is the new beginning of my life. I feel like a chill is spreading through my body from my chest. Liam cleared his throat and turned his head to look at him to see he was already looking at me with a gentle smile on his face. " This is it," he said, making me smile. " This is it," I repeated his words. " I have a few things for you, wait," he said before he quickly got out of the car. I saw him walking to the back seat of the car and opening the door, before pulling out my old school bag and a few what looked like shopping bags. He went to the front and got back in the car. " Here," he said, handing me, nope, almost shoving the bags into my lap. I raised my eyebrows at him in question. He looks like a teenager who is excited about opening Christmas gifts. " What's all this?" I asked to open one of the bags. " I brought this for you," he said. I opened the bag and saw there was a brand new school bag. I opened another one and there was a brand new phone. I gasped while taking it out. " You brought this for me?" I asked and he nodded. " You didn't have to," I said. " I had to. You need all of those things that I bought. Your bag is too old for you to carry around your college without getting bullied, you know. You didn't have a phone so I bought one for you. I already installed my number there. If you need anything, just call me. And lastly, I bought some clothes for you," he said, making my eyes wide. " Now give me your bags," he said, and I handed him my old bag and the one that he bought for me. He started to transfer all of my things to the new bag carefully. I didn't know how to thank him when he said not to. " Don't think about that," he said. " What? I didn't say anything," I said, smiling. " You were going to thank me. I know the looks," he said, making me laugh. " Now let's get you settled, shall we?" He said. I nodded my head before getting out of the car with my new bag and my new phone. He got out of the car and went to the trunk to get something. When he came back, he was holding luggage. " All of your clothes are in this," he said. " Come on," he said, walking away from the car to one of the buses that were standing there. He got on the bus and I followed him behind. He found me a seat and sat beside me before pulling a little notepad out of his pocket. " Here, I have written down all the important things. I have a friend there who is going to receive you. His name is Parker. He was a student at that college. He will help you settle in there. If you need anything, just tell him," he said, handing over the notepad he was holding. I took it and gave him a small smile. " Be safe, ele," he said. " I hope we can meet again in the future," he said, his eyes looking dim. " We will, Liam," I said knowingly, would definitely meet again in the future. " This is where we say goodbye," he said, standing up. " Bye Liam," I said and he turned around and walked away from me. I looked at his back, thinking that I didn't know when we would meet again in the future, but I do hope for one thing that he doesn't change. He didn't look back at me and stepped off the bus and went to his car and got in. The bus engine started and I saw his car drive away. A lone tear rolled down from my cheek and I wiped it away with the back of my hand. I felt sad. I know his feelings for me. I always saw him as my brother and he treated me like a friend after what had happened that night. I sighed and decided to let go of all of those sad feelings and emotions that I had suffered there. I looked around and saw there were some students as well as some elderly people. I looked out of the window to memorise the route and where I was going. The route we were going on was in the middle of the tall trees and behind the trees, you could see mountains. I didn't know where the college was. I bought my laptop, but I have to buy a new one. One thing which fascinated me was that the trees stood tall and proud like soldiers. There is something about the forest and the trees. The feeling made me shudder like there was something more behind those trees. Slowly I fell into a deep sleep looking out of the window. I felt someone jerking me by my arm and I woke up alert. I looked around and saw two students wearing glasses standing there. I guess they woke me up. " We think you are a new student of this college," one of them said, and I nodded my head. " Are you guys? I trailed off. " We are new here. We are from the crescent pack," one of them said when another one nudged her, making her eyes wide. " Where is that place?" I asked. " That is our community," she said, and they both laughed nervously. " Come on. We have to go," she said to me, and I found my luggage before following both of them off of the bus. " Thanks for waking me up," I said to them. They both give me a small but genuine smile. I felt like they were friendly. " I am Elena," I said. " I am Lucy," the girl with ginger hair said. " I am Lara," the black-haired girl said. " Nice to meet you Lucy, and Lara," I said, chuckling. Both their names sound similar. Maybe they are twins or something, but I didn't ask that.
